Toga commented as I buried my face into her hair and enveloped her in a full-body hug while rubbing my face against hers. Thoroughly making her both happy and confused. We were watching TV in the living room together after the exam had ended.

According to Toga, she would most likely pass easily since she destroyed at least a dozen robots and scored well on the written exam. And honestly, if she can't get in but the animal-talking bum and tail guy can I have no hope for UA.

In response to her confusion, I replied.

"I am getting my daily dose of Toganium to restore my luck. I feel like my quirk is about to give me a big opportunity so I need all of the luck I can get."

Toga stood still for a second before nodding and holding my hands slung around her neck affectionately.

My grin widened, a very useful ability, quite basic which made it even better. This was one of the better mover abilities, especially compliments someone with an assassin moveset. Doesn't mesh the best with my current ability set but I cannot complain in the slightest.

This was a great ability, basically, no energy cost and none after the armour itself is formed. I already had a defensive option but Phase Shift is an energy hog. Now with this, I can turn on Offensive Form and still have some defence.

I mean, that's a no-brainer. I want the health recovery of the Sanctus but healers already exist and honestly, the few use "character card" sounds absolutely broken. If I need to know something I can just pop it and know it thanks to the future prediction. Besides, it was an epic rarity for a reason.

Picking it I immediately got to rubbing Toga's lucky cheeks some more as she obediently let me. As expected of my lucky charm. Now, she needed to work extra overtime to give me something good with this.

My brain stopped for a second as I read the notification in front of me 90 times in what felt like a single second.

Upgrade... abilities? Refine... genes?

In a world like this...?

That's... so fucking broken. I could even upgrade my own abilities probably. This is the kind of ability that countries would go to war over. Just a tap and suddenly bam, your strongest hero is suddenly stronger and their abilities are more powerful.

I love it!

In fact, I could feel my pants straining and the fabric keeping my pants together splitting apart at the seams from the sheer grith and power behind my pole desiring to split apart the very skies. The feeling of drawing that ability felt even better than sex.

Unable to hold on I grabbed Toga and lifted her up by the armpits like a cat while getting off of the couch myself.

"Alright, stand still for a moment and let me work my magic." Nodding Toga sat up and let me get to work.

"Alright Hakari-kun, I trust you." I trust you too my little luck charm, if I get my way I am making you broken.

I put my hand on her bare chest where her heart would be and activated my ability.

And then another prompt popped up in my sight.

That's so goddam cool.

As I explained to Toga what I could do with my upgrade her eyes also widened.

"Woah! What's totally like a skill tree from an RPG!" Ditto "Hmm, well, I think it's best to choose Blood Memory, I can already kinda store blood with vials and my transformations are already plenty long. The basic info would really help me blend in when I am using it for infiltration. Besides, it seems like the option with the most potential!" I nodded, feeling proud.

As expected of my little blood goblin, she has what it takes to be a filthy min maxer like me. Toga looked at my face weirdly for a second before I spoke to her.

"Alright then, locking it in." Then Toga's mouth an o shape as suddenly her genetic makeup started getting altered by my ability, it worked surprisingly fast once I locked in my choice considering it was refining the hypercomplex human gene without messing up anything and only providing a benefit with no downsides. What bullshit.

My bullshit.

After a minute the glow in my hands faded as Toga started looking even more sleepy than before, she gave me a dopey smile while looking at her hands in wonder.

"Woah~ That's so cool, I feel like a new girl~ thank you Hakari-kun but I-*yawn* -I think I'm gonna test the effects later 'kay? Goodnight." *Plop.*

Finishing her sentence Toga flopped onto the bed and snoozed almost immediately, makes sense that getting your genetic material altered by a foreign ability would feel tiring, for me too since it took more than 50% of my energy reserves to use it.

Well, I have 8 hours until I can test it on myself, and I can't really test any other abilities now so I guess I have some time for myself. This was rather unusual since Toga has been basically stuck by my side ever since we met.

'Maybe that will change once we start UA. I like her clinginess but hopefully, making some friends will help her issues a little, because I know for certain I cannot exactly help her.' I tucked her into bed before pulling out my pack of cigarettes from of the bedside drawer alongside my lighter before heading out onto the balcony, feeling the chill autumn air against my skin.

Lighting my smoke and taking a drag I let the acrid smoke fill my lungs, getting cigarettes as a minor was trivially easy when you can just swap money for cigs 50 meters away.

*Puff.*

I released the smoke in my lungs, feeling a slight sense of serenity wash over me. Old habits are hard to break. Working in the Yakuza had gotten me hooked on cigs and alcohol badly, I miss drinking cheap shit beer.

*Chuckle.*

I couldn't help but release a chuckle of disbelief.

'Just a month ago I was some punk making a living in the streets and now I'm an aspiring hero in a world of superpowers who can pull abilities and items from other worlds. How insane.' I took another puff of my cig, gazing out at the scenery of Musutafu's nightlife when my system pinged me again.

Confused I raised an eyebrow at the notification. Was it my birthday today? I had no idea, I stopped caring after my parents died and just forgot about it altogether. Well, isn't that nice? I didn't think I could roll the same thing twice, speaks volumes to how I managed to do so considering this Gacha probably has some ungodly amount of possible items.

Still, the new teaching expertise was more than welcome, funnily enough, I am pretty sure I am more qualified than most of the teachers at UA because I am pretty sure none of those busy pro heroes actually went to college for a teaching degree or whatever it's called.

Regardless, it still brought a smile to my lips.

A/N: Lady Luck and Hakari haven't just made up, they are actively fucking doggy style on the couch as we speak. For anyone wondering, no it was not rigged in the slightest, Gene Refinement was mostly made for other worlds while Bloodline was still important but still didn't determine your entire combat potential. But in a world like MHA, it's basically god.

Hakari's luck has made a complete 180 turn, the world better brace its britches because the Hakari train is about to hit the world hard. I think it's trying to make up for the time when it tried to continuously murder Hakari for an entire week straight.
