There was a lot of damage caused to the dorms in U.A. so we wouldn't get to go there for a week or two. Even if my injuries suddenly disappeared I still had to get a check up at the hospital and what the doctor said wasn't good.
" Everything is fine except your wrist and elbow joint," the doctor told me. " It looks like you took some serious damage so no quirk seems like it can heal that. IT would have to heal over time on it's own. If you're so interested in your hero work that you think you don't have anytime for any normal healing then we can heal it but I advise you don't use those arms too much since you can cause permanent damage. Compression sleeves will help though if you don't want to heal right away."
" Thanks for the advice," I said.
Later that night I got to go home after the heroes confirmed it safe to get the streets back up and busy. And I guess I wasn't expecting to come home to my mom yelling. I couldn't even get my finger on the door knob before she slammed open the door and started scolding at me.
" YOU SHOULD'VE LET THE HEROES HANDLE IT!," She shouted. " YOU DO KNOW YOU COULD'VE DIED RIGHT? ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A DEATH WISH?!"
I Quickly put my hands up in surrender my head facing the ground. " I'm sorry I won't...try and k-kill myself again!," I quickly said.
" SO YOU WERE TRYING TO?!"
" No, I-I'll make sure the heroes are around before I do anything stupid like that again."
My mom took in a deep breath. " That's what I like to hear."
" M-Mom I wouldn't put your hand too close to the door. You can burn it," I pointed out.
" Well since your home I guess I better let you know. You have a special someone coming here tomorrow morning. You haven't seen her in a while."
" Who is it?," I asked.
" You'll find out soon."
I walked inside of my home and found my older brother sitting at the kitchen table.
" Oh, Hiroshi you weren't out on patrol today?," I wondered.
" No," he said quietly.
Weird. He seemed more bummed than usual.
" Daiki!," Asahi ran over to me and squeezed my left leg.
" I saw you on tv!." He then broke out into a sob. " You were bleeding and your arms were hurt."
He then punched me in my leg.
" OW!," I yelped. "What was that for?!"
" Don't ever get hurt like that again!" He sniffled.
I knelt down and smiled. " You won't have to worry about me ever again," I told him. " I promise no matter what happens I won't ever leave you behind."
" Good! Also tomorrow I wanna show you what I can do with my quirk! I can be the greatest hero ever with it!"
" Sure, bud," I said.
" Where's dad, mom?," I asked.
" He said he went out to the new job he just got a promotion to," she replied.
It was weird. I know I haven't been around my father much but he seemed shady every time I saw him. It was ever since I passed my entrance exam.
I went up to my room and took out a notebook I never used. The doctor had told me that my joints now had permanent damage. I won't do so well keeping up with just my kicks. So I thought, maybe I should try and collide many styles into one. Deku had told me about a quirk that came with One For All. It was called blackwhip. He had shown me it and it would make a huge difference to the way I fought once I awakened it. I studied both the fighting styles of Tailman, Froppy, and a whole lot on Deku.
" I bet I can use black whip in all those ways," I said to myself.
Deku also said I would get float which would give me the ability to fly. I could learn something from Deku, Uravity, and maybe even Nori if she would teach me a thing or two. I heard someone knock on my room door. It was Hiroshi.
" What's up?," I asked.
" I need to tell you something important." He came and knelt beside the desk I was sitting at. " I've been thinking about this for two years after I became a pro hero. I noticed that Shigaraki was also targeting you this afternoon."
"What are you getting at?," I questioned.
" I think that if I'm a hero trying to stop or interfere with a villians plans my whole family would be targets and they would be in danger," he continued.
I still didn't know what direction he was going in with this. What was he trying to tell me?
" Why would Shigaraki be interested in you?"
" He's interested in you Daiki. Y-Your quirk, i'm not even going to lie, it really is something extraordinary. It's so much like Deku's that's the reason why Tomura Shigaraki would want to take your quirk. I know you might go off on me about this but...i'm gonna have to retire," he told me.
"WHAT?!." I shot up from my chair. " What do you mean retire YOU can't retire?! Y-YOUR HEAT LAUNCH the world needs you to help and defend it. You can't just throw your life away because of THAT!"
Hiroshi rested his forehead on his left hand.
" Do you not realise that i'm doing this so you can live on to reach your dream?," he asked. " I hate to do this to you Daiki, I truly do but if I can't protect my family I can't protect the world. I'm not going to second guess it."
" YOUR JUST BEING A COWARD! ," I yelled. " You're just scared of losing your own skin!"
" You're not EV-You know what." My brother stood up. " I'm not even going to argue with you. I'm not a Hero anymore and so be it."
He was about to walk out the room when I said something that probably shook him.
" Don't worry about it," I said. " I'll fulfill the dream you never could. You had a chance Hiroshi and you blew it!"
He stared at me for a few seconds but walked out and slammed the door behind him. Honestly, my angry thoughts about this dusted off quickly. I guess it was because I was so focused on succeeding myself that I didn't care if Hiroshi just dropped out.
