My Hero Academia: Might Makes Right

Hello everyone! This is my first fanfic so I’m not going to make a proper synopsis. Instead I’ll list a few general points I feel might compel you to read this. 1) I can speak English! No ‘Courting death young masters’ here! 2) The MC will not be an egotistical douche or psychopath like every other MC in the FF’s here. 3) Now stay with me here, later on in the story (it will take a while) there will be romance. Not cringey (hopefully), but a well defined romance. That’s why it will take a while. I am most likely not doing a harem route fyi. I want the romance to mean something. Hard to do that with multiple people. 4) MC will NOT be OP from the beginning (but he still will be strong.). He will have to overcome hurdles, go through pain, and he might not even succeed in the end. He might lose people, he could go insane. I’m trying to make this FF as realistic as possible (as much as one could make a story about superhero’s could). Thank you for reading! Enjoy!

Chapter 8 - USJ Incident

Chapter 8 - USJ Incident

**********

Aizawa sensei: "Today we'll be heading to the USJ building for Rescue training, so everyone put on your costumes and get on the buses in 10 minutes. That's all".

Then he leaned back into his chair, and covered his eyes with an eye mask.

Iida raised his hand and asked as enthusiastically as ever, "Class rep, how should we be lined up?"

Shaking my head, I answered "We don't need to. I've seen the bus and it's really large,so it's more of an open seating. There's not much we can do to organize ourselves. So everyone can just sit where they want".

Iida nodded, "Understood!"

After the entire class had put their suits on, we swiftly boarded the bus, filled with excitement for another day of Hero training. Given, this one was a bit more exciting since it involved more 'heroic' scenarios. Not the monotone lectures about theoretical situations.

During the ride, Tsuyu had brought up how Midoriya's quirk was similar to All Mights'.

Watching Midoriya struggle to negate that assumption was pretty funny, and I couldn't stop myself from smiling.

But just as quickly, I frowned at the realization that I now had more work to plan out.

On top of helping Midoriya train One for All, and trying to boost his confidence, I now had to teach him how to keep a straight face as well.

I don't know if the people in this world would be as ignorant towards the clear signs that Midoriya is All Might's successor, but I couldn't risk that.

Off to the side, Chihiro was having a conversation with Ururaka about whether her quirk would work on clouds or not.

Chihiro: "Since they already float, would the clouds be moveable now (physically with our hands)? Or would nothing happen?"

Uraraka chuckled: "Haha, I'm not too sure, I haven't thought of that before. But it's not like I can touch a cloud anyways."

'Hm' I pondered. 'What if it was a rain cloud? Could she just hold the entirety of the rain, and just release it all in one go? Probably not actually, she can barely lift heavy rocks right now. Forget literal tons of water.'

Snapping me out of my thoughts was Kirishima directing a question towards me.

"Why are your hands so scarred Haku? Is it just from sparring with others?"

I instinctively grasped my hands, remembering my (not so) happy upbringing.

I knew this question would come eventually, but the nature of this society provided an easy explanation.

I replied, "Kind of. It's just from my workout routine, it can get pretty intense sometimes".

Tsuyu cut in, "But why are the lines so straight? It's like you were being cut by something. And you don't use bladed weapons."

'Come on man, how observant is she gonna be?'

"It was… a unique training regime".

Kirishima: "Really? What was-"

"Oh look! Is that the USJ complex?!" I interrupted, hoping we could just change the topic.

"Oo, where?!" Multiple classmates squealed as they pressed their faces against the bus windows to get a better look.

And sure enough, off in the distance was the massive U.A. Training facility. Even from this distance, we could see it's staggering size, and the massive amount of resources that went into creating such a building.

...….

Once we arrived at the USJ complex, Aizawa sensei led us into the training site's front entrance, where we met Thirteen, the Pro rescue hero.

Thirteen: "Good morning everyone! Welcome to the USJ, or the 'Unforeseen Simulation Joint'.

This is where you'll have your rescue training for civilians in large scale battles or accidents.

My name is Thirteen, some of you might not know, but I'm a Professional Rescue Hero that is active right here in Japan."

Uraraka and Midoriya, who were the biggest fans amongst the class, immediately bombarded her with praises and questions.

While that mini fan meeting was going on, Aizawa sensei pointed out and explained the various areas we would be training in.

The Flood zone, Landslide zone, Collapsed zone, mountain zone, and Conflagration zone.

It was pretty easy to imagine which disaster would occur in each of these areas, and what conditions we would be training in.

During his explanation, I was scanning the complex for any sudden life forces appearing within my quirk range because the attack was supposed to happen soon.

Kurogiri was supposed to use his warp quirk to transport multiple villains (including Shigaraki and a nomu) inside this building to kill All Might.

However, All Might wasn't here because he overused OFA, so they would attack the students until All Might came.

That left us with 2 options; either defeat all the villains, or wait for All Might and the reinforcements to come.

I however, had another goal.

If I could kill Kurogiri, or even Shigaraki right now, it would stop so many tragedies in the future.

It might sound cruel to some, but why would I hesitate killing a future mass murderer?

And although I felt a little guilty that the class would be involved, I would manage. It's not like anyone from the class got heavily injured by the villains.

Plus this was a necessary growth phase for them. It was to help them realize the true dangers of the villains they would soon be facing.

"!"

Suddenly, I spun and looked at the fountain in the Central Plaza a couple of meters below us. (They were looking down a flight of stairs)

"AIZAWA SENSEI! A GROUP OF PEOPLE ARE TELEPORTING HERE!"I yelled in preparation.

"What?!" And he took a defensive stance and turned to where I was pointing and ordered immediately, "Everyone get back now!"

As the class started to huddle but also panic, they all began to worryingly ask,

Ojiro: "What's going on?"

Mina: "What's happening??"

I answered while being interrupted "We're under attack by—"

Kurogiri, who suddenly walked out of a portal: "—The league of villains".

Right after Kurogiri spoke over me, he extended himself to open up a massive black and purple portal, allowing close to 70 villains to invade, including Shigaraki and the same Nomu from the anime.

Preparing the class for what was going to happen, I tried to help them stay calm so I yelled, "Everyone! He's most likely going to split us up with his warping quirk, so stick together if you're near someone! If not, then stay hidden, we only need to hang on until reinforcements arrive!"

"Well said" Kurogiri smoothly complimented and then did a slight bow, "Good morning everyone, We are the league of Villains, and we are here for one reason and one reason only."

He glanced up, staring directly at us, "Despite the fact that killing future heroes would be thrilling, we are gathered here today to kill the Symbol Of Peace.

Would anyone know where All Might is at the moment?"

Faces of shock and terror reverberated through the class.

It was common sense that villains would obviously stay clear of heroes that were too strong for them to handle.

This meant that the league of villains had arrived here with the conviction and confidence of being able to kill All Might.

I quickly scanned every part of Kurogiri, and found out his body was structured (unfortunately) as I thought it would be.

None of the fog from his body was controlled by his life force, meaning I couldn't drain his life essence through the fog.

It was all congealed behind his armored neck, alongside his core essence.

I crouched and activated 'Gaeia's Blessing'.

All I needed to do was smash his neck armor with my kanabo and he would be crippled and incapacitated.

Once the villains started charging at us, Aizawa sensei put on his goggles, readied his binding scarf and rushed foward to meet them head on and yelled, "Thirteen! Keep the kids safe!" And he jumped off the ledge, down to where the group of villains were.

At the same time though, Kurogiri teleported and appeared between us students, trying to warp us all at the same time.

I immediately charged towards Kurogiri, hoping to end this in one strike.

But I failed because of his elusive quirk.

Kurogiri said with his calm but also mocking voice, "Did you think I wouldn't be wary of you? When you were the one who immediately realized my intentions?"

Then he swiftly raised his arm and a warp portal that he had been secretly preparing covered every one of my escape routes.

Because I was already midair from jumping, I couldn't avoid the portal in my direct path.

He also did the same with my classmates.

The portals appeared from directly below some of them, or completely encircled them.

Sato: "Gah! It's sucking me in!"

Hagakure: "Kyah!"

And everyone was simultaneously sent into the abyss, as we fell through the bottomless hole.

I was able to see again from the sunlight as I reappeared over a man-made ocean, where I-

*splash*

-fell into the depth of the water.

*gasp!*

I gasped as I resurfaced and swam to the top for a much needed breath of air. I didn't have any time to properly hold my breath before I fell in.

But before I could get used to my new circumstances, I felt the waves/current in the ocean instantly shift, and heard what sounded like an animalistic motorboat.

I turned around, and saw that one of the lurking shark metamorph villains had darted towards me without mercy, its sword-like dorphal fin cutting through the surface of the water.

Right before he rammed me, I dodged to the side, where I barely managed to dodge it.

However, the amphibian body it had, allowed it to instantly maneuver in place, spinning around, and-

*slash!*

-lacerating the back of my ankle.

"Agh!" I let out as I reflexively grabbed ahold of my underwater leg with one hand.

Based on how I was struggling to move my leg, I didn't need to see my wound to know that the villain had cut some sort of ligament.

I instantly used my quirk to focus my healing in my leg. I was a bit wasteful with my usage, but I couldn't afford to waste time.

"Huaaah!"

I took a deep breath, and dove underwater.

I saw that the Demi-shark had spun around again, and this time had its hungry mouth wide open to chomp down on me.

But just before it reached me, I directly used 3% of my life essence to boost my speed and doge the shark.

During the quick opening while the shark was baffled at how a human had out swam it, I swiftly latched onto his back fin.

"!"

The shark villain quickly took notice and-

*WHOOSH! WHOOSH! SPLASH! SPLASH!*"

Immediately began to try me shake me off. Even going so far as to leap out of the water and dive back in.

But nothing worked as I stayed on, my grip as firm as I could manage.

The reason being that I was draining his life essence while holding my own breath.

He blitzed around the water some more, trying to shake me off, but I held on until he was out cold.

After he was incapacitated and floated lifelessly in the water, I quickly swam up-

"PWAH! Hah! Hah! Hah!"

-to seek a much needed breath of air.

Popping out of the water, I saw Tsuyu and Midoriya not too far off, who also noticed me in return as they waved their arms.

Midoriya cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled, "Head to the boat!" As he pointed towards a yacht in the distance.

We swam there, climbed aboard, and while we were catching our breaths, I said with a determined look, "I'm sure you guys know, but the situation is terrible.

We seriously need to go help Aizawa sense".

I could remember how injured he was from this event. His eyes were permanently damaged from his face being slammed into the ground mercilessly by the Nomu.

Tsuyu: "But if we join in, we might make it worse instead. Not to mention the reason those villains are here, they have an ace to kill All Might. How could we possibly beat that? We should wait for the professors"

I replied while shaking my head, "That's exactly why we need to help".

Midoriya, worried about All Might, agreed and said, "I agree with Haku. If they have something secret to handle All Might, our interference could stop it. Because look, they don't even know our quirks.

Otherwise why would they send you Tsuyu, a frog quirk, to a water zone. One of our quirks could be the key to stopping their plan. That's why they split us up in the first place."

I nodded in agreement, "Exactly, plus Aizawa sensei is fighting them alone, he'll probably get severely injured from fighting all of them at once.

And you don't need to worry about getting in his way, I have an idea on how to handle the situation from afar" I said as I gestured to my bow.

Asui and Midoriya looked at me, their eyes filled with determination to save our sensei, when suddenly—

"FWOO*

I ducked my head back and simultaneously shoved Midoriya and Tsuyu back, and a concentrated jet stream of water flew past where our heads were.

*ding*

The water clinked against the metal headboard of the boat, where it caused a small dent.

We spun to see multiple villains swimming in the water below us. Conviction flaring in their eyes to kill us.

I grinned, "First we'll need to handle this riff-raff. But their timing in excellent because I am in need of some battery packs".

Around 6 minutes later

After me and Tsuyu handled these small-time villains (Midoriya couldn't really do much with his uncontrolled quirk), all three of us started to head towards the dead center of the USJ complex where Aizawa sensei was fighting alone.

We ran away from the shore and towards the central plaza, and spotted Aizawa sensei still fighting the villains, but he was dominating them which was good news.

I mean of course he was, dude was a master martial artist.

I quickly switched my kanabo for my bow and told the other two the plan as we slowly approached.

I explained in a low tone, "I'm willing to bet that 'creature' (I pointed to the nomu) is their ace against All Might. All I need is to borrow your guys' stamina. The stamina I stole from the villains isn't enough and I need more."

Midoriya nodded, "Sure, take as much as you need Haku!", and he extended his arm towards me.

Tsuyu also extended her arm and asked, "But what do you need it for?"

As we got close enough that we were in yelling range of Aizawa sensei, we hid behind a boulder while I explained, "We won't get into melee fighting range because we don't need to.

My bow and arrows are made of a special material called Ryuzai wood.

It's still alive while in this form, so I can power it up temporarily with my quirk. But I need to be close enough so that the quirk doesn't wear off by the time my arrow reaches the target.

My plan is to head shot that creature (nomu) from here.

What I need you guys to do, is to go help the students in the other zones and gather them here or anywhere else that's safe.

Because once I attack that monster, the other villains will rush here.

And I'm sorry Midoriya, but your quirk is a liability right now, and Tsuyu, you're quirk isn't the best for an open field frontal confrontation. That's why it's better if you both leave.

Both of them looked worried but agreed nonetheless.

After I took around 15-20% of each of their life essence, the three of us l oiled eyes again-

"Good luck" I said as I nodded towards them.

Tsuyu: "You too Haku".

Deku: "We'll be back as quick as possible Haku."

And they quietly separated from me and ran towards the other zones.

*sigh~

*smack*

I sighed before slapping both my cheeks, 'Okay, now's not the time to get nervous and miss my shot!'

I took a slow and steady breath before taking aim, charging my bow with about 50% life essence.

I could already feel the mental strain of my quirk as my nose began to bleed profusely.

But I had to do it this way.

I wish it wasn't, but my bow was the only way I knew how to deal with the nomu.

This nomu had strength and speed comparable to All Might.

So if I tried to remove its core essence to kill it, I would get one shot by the nomu in the process.

Not to mention that it had shock absorption, so my blunt weapon and fists wouldn't do anything.

The only reliable chance I had was to headshot the nomu before Shigaraki activated/awakened the nomu.

So right now, in its deactivated state (since Shigaraki hasn't commanded it to do anything), it couldn't move or dodge, which was perfect for my piercing arrow.

I wish I could have shot my arrow at Shigaraki, but he was fighting within close range of Aizawa sensei so I couldn't risk that.

Forget risking it, I don't know if I could even hit Shigaraki given his reflexes and ability to degrade anything he touches.

I focused my eyes on the nomu and found that it had its core essence resting in its head, and it was an extremely disturbing sight.

Unlike OFA's natural assimilation of souls and quirks, the nomu's were forced together.

It looked as if someone ate fruit loops and threw them up.

Once Aizawa sensei defeated the last petty villain near him, I shot up from my position and screamed-

"Aizawa sensei! Block any healing quirks that creature might have!" And then unleashed the arrow towards the nomu.

*FWOOSH!*

And it flew through the air.

Aizawa sensei, although confused about where I suddenly appeared from, immediately realized my intent.

He locked his eyes onto the Nomu, canceling the super regeneration quirk he found.

My reinforced arrow blitzed through the air, and-

*BAM!*

-pierced right through the side of the nomus head, where I saw its core essence resting.

It toppled over from the force, the arrow still lodged into its head, and started convulsing on the floor it had collapsed on.

I noticed that the life force in its body was slowly starting to dissipate into the air, so I knew it was dying.

'Perfect! Now me and Aizawa sensei can tag team Shigaraki, and if I can end him here, AFO won't be able to come back!'

*SCRATCH* *SCRATCH* *SCRATCH*

Shigaraki, the man-child he was, started immediately itching his neck in frustration repeating with his raspy voice "no no no no no no NO. NO! This was not supposed to happen! It was meant to kill All Might! How could it die before All Might even arrived?!"

While he threw his tantrum, Aizawa sensei and I made use of his outburst and lack of awareness and rushed towards him.

Unexpectedly, Shigaraki yelled, "Kurogiri!"

'Shoot! He's trying to escape! But he's so close to being finished!' I thought, while running even harder.

However…

At that moment…

I couldn't have been more wrong.

Before Aizawa sensei or I could even reach him, multiple portals suddenly appeared around us.

Some had more villains strutting out of it, others had my classmates fall out of it.

But worst of all, the one right next to Shigaraki, had another fresh Nomu walk out.

'WHAT?! But that's impossible! There was only 1 nomu in the anime!' I yelled with terror inside my mind.

Frantically looking around, I saw an unconscious Sato, short-circuited Kaminari, multiple people like Yaoyorozu who were exhausted beyond their limit, and others like Jiro who were injured and bleeding from her head.

A good amount of my classmates were here. But worst of all, none of them were in any condition to fight.

It looked like their fight against the villains was harder than in the anime because they definitely weren't this beat up from what I remembered.

I didn't know what was going on, but obviously this world was changing in all the wrong ways.

'This is one of the worst possible situations to be in', I thought after seeing everyone's conditions.

There was now a second wave of Villains and Nomu, and on top of having to protect my classmates who were now a liability, Aizawa sensei and I had to do it ourselves.

Aizawa: "Class 1A! Everyone who is still conscious needs to move now! If you can, then help the people who are nearby!"

"Haku!" He called out.

"Yes sensei!"

"You need to-"

But before he could continue, he was bombarded with attacks from the newly summoned villains.

And before we even had a chance to formulate a plan, Shigaraki raised his destructive hand and pointed at Jiro and the others who were collapsed, "Nomu… kill those kids".

Aizawa screamed in defiance "Don't you dare!" as he rushed to intercept.

But the recently teleported villains and Shigaraki personally blocked his path, not giving him any chance to save his students.

The Nomu dashed towards the injured students, raising his fist as if he was trying to smash a bug.

Realizing the danger they were in, I used Gaia's Blessing as quickly as I could, ignoring my aching head, and decided to step directly in the path of the nomu while boosting my body with my quirk.

I knew it was stupid, I knew I couldn't stop a Nomu head on. But I couldn't let any of my classmates die.

Screw the plot and what would happen if they were gone, I just wanted to save them.

"Everyone! Quickly get out of here!" I frantically yelled.

Then I tossed my unneeded bow away and pulled out my Kanabo, charging it with as much life essence I could before—

*BOOM!*

The Nomu's fist slammed into my kanabo, snapping it straight into two pieces. Then his other fist traveled from the side-

*BAM!*

-where it smashed into my right arm, snapping it into two as well. The force of the impact was so strong it easily sent me flying into a nearby wall and-

*CRASH!*

"HAKU!!" Yelled Aizawa and the students who physically could.

I desperately channeled the life essence I had in reserve to heal my fractured arm and injured body.

Taking heavy breaths, I tried to ease their worries and managed to groan out, "I'm fine… I can… heal myself."

But I obviously wasn't fine. It felt like I had been rammed by a wrecking ball.

The nomu, as brainless and relentless as he was, continued towards his immediate objective, aiming at the nearest student, Jiro.

As I forced myself to stand up, I leaned my back against the wall while my injuries began to heal, and I tried to come up with a viable plan that didn't involve me dying.

'Think Haku, think! What can I do right now? I have no reliable methods to kill the Nomu since it's way too fast for my bow, so all I can do is be a shield for my classmates until All Might arrives.'

Then a frown formed on my face, 'But my body can't handle a Nomu's power.

Gaia's Blessing makes me faster and stronger, but it doesn't specialize in defense.

And I can't use any more life essence to power myself up because my body physically can't handle any more life essence.'

'Wait…'

And my eyes slowly opened.

Those words became a saving grace that suddenly inspired me, making me realize how stupid I've been.

'If I can't hold it in my body, why don't I hold it outside of my body?'

My two years of training had given me extreme control over my own life force, but I never trained to keep it maintained outside my body.

It was a stupid rule I imposed on myself.

When I first tried to use my quirk outside of my body, it just dissipated into the air. And watching that happen made me think it was impossible to do.

But that was when I barely had any control over my quirk.

'This time, I'll keep it hovering near and attached to my body, while maintaining complete control'.

As I began dashing at full speed, I released my remaining life essence outside of my body (keeping just enough so I could survive), and concentrated it around my skin.

I cross linked every particle of life essence with each other, until I was completely surrounded in a mesh of it.

Everyone watched in shock as I manifested what seemed like a golden sheet over my entire body. But in reality, it was a pure, concentrated manifestation of life force, emitted from my body.

As the nomu jumped up, and came down ready to smash Jiro with both his fists, I dashed towards Jiro, with my hand out to hers.

Sero from the side yelled, "JIRO! HAKU! Be carefu—"

-but before I heard him finish, I shoved Jiro behind me with the other students.

I leapt to the side and narrowly dodged the—

*BOOM*

—Nomu as it pounded both fists against the floor as if he was the hulk.

Leaving behind the crater it had formed, the Nomu kept its pace towards the other students again.

They tried to run, but in their injured states they couldn't create a safe distance.

Noticing there wasn't much time, I dashed in front of my classmates once again, crossed my arms and readied my body for the sheer impact I was about to experience, and—

*BOOM!*

The punch knocked me back a couple of feet.

My arms felt like lead, and they immediately started swelling from the Impact, but it wasn't as bad as the first time it struck me.

The armor was thankfully working.

I quickly looked around.

Injured - 6 (Yaoyorozu, Jiro, Mina, Sero, Ojiro, Uraraka)

Uncocious - 2 (Sato, Kaminari)

"Yaoyorozu!" I quickly called.

"Yeah?" She groaned out in pain.

"I know this is asking a lot, but you need to quickly create something to at least stabilize the others. They can't walk in this condition.

"B-but I don't have-"

"Just create whatever you can! We don't have time!"

"I'll- I'll try", she said as she steeled her resolve and crouched down as she barely activated her quirk.

Before I could give more orders-

*Scratch* *Scratch* *Scratch*

Shigaraki, scratching his neck furiously with both hands, said "That disgusting kid keeps getting in the way, trying to act like a filthy hero."

"Nomu!" Shigaraki called out.

And the Nomu reared it's ugly duck head towards his master.

"Just finish that kid off first! Ignore the others for now!"

With the new order, the nomu stopped trying to get past me, and focused solely on my death.

It sprinted towards me and I didn't have much say in the fight, I could only prepare myself for what was coming.

"Uraraka!"

"Y-yes!"

"Use your quirk on those who are unconscious so that you can easily carry them!"

"Got it!" And she trudged over, tapping the unconscious bodies of Sato and Kaminari.

"Everyone else!"

And they turned their heads toward me.

"Group up and get away from here once Yaoyorozu fixes you up! Help the people who can't move! I'll hold this thing off until reinforcements arrive!"

Mina, who witnessed me get tossed around by the nomu earlier, refused and yelled, "No! We can't leave you here alone!"

Ojiro grabbed her hand, "We need to leave when Yaoyorozu's done! We're only a nuisance for him! If we stay here, he has to protect us!"

I didn't bother replying and ran away from the group, hoping they didn't get caught up as collateral damage.

After my initial dash, I honed my gaze onto the Nomu and tried to mentally prepare myself as I took a defensive stance.

After what seemed like an eternity, one second had passed, and the nomu was already on me.

I met the nomu head on as we continuously collided-

BOOM!

Each time his fists landed-

BOOM!

My golden armor, as well as my bones, cracked from the force-

BOOM!

As he knocked my body back and forth-

BOOM!

I was barely even able to regain my footing after each of his punches-

BOOM!

But each time we made contact-

BOOM!

I would channel some of the nomu's seemingly infinite stamina to heal myself.

I tried to dodge, or even block his blows properly, but he was too fast.

Not to mention I was essentially paralyzed from the pain and could barely move in general.

All I could manage to do was guarantee he didn't injure my major organs.

The whole fight was a hellish cycle of pain that threatened to finish me with the smallest slip of my focus.

He Punched. I broke. I Healed.

He Punched.

I broke.

I Healed.

He Punched.

I… broke.

I… struggled to Heal.

The floor looked like I was trying to paint it, given the amount of blood that was dripping from my body onto the floor.

The only reason I didn't outright die from blood loss was because my wounds closed as soon as they opened.

The ones who were being shielded by me were terrified by what they were witnessing.

Uraraka: "QUICK GUYS! We need to help him, he's DYING for us!"

Sero, clenching his teeth in frustration, struggled on what to do. 'Listen to Haku and flee with the others, or potentially ruin Haku's effort, and get caught by the creature if we try to help him.'

But before the students even got the option to choose, a trio of villains had managed to escape from the main group that was suppressing Aizawa sensei (who was trying to contain them as well).

The villains forced the students who could move, to stay and protect the classmates who couldn't move.

Meanwhile, I tried my best to survive, but the Nomu's flurry of punches were impossible to evade.

I mean, this thing was meant to deal with All Might at 100%. The only reason I was still alive was because of my exceptional quirk.

Barely half a minute had passed by for my mind to be overwhelmed with how I was using my quirk.

It was screaming at me to stop, threatening to shut down on me.

I was recklessly using my life essence to heal my injuries as soon as they appeared so that I could keep being a meat shield.

Eventually though, the battle took its toll, as piece by piece, blow by blow, my manifested armor and stamina were whittled down.

I tried to continue, I tried to hold on, because right now I was the only thing standing between the Nomu, and the death of my classmates.

But I wasn't the protagonist of an anime.

I wasn't strong enough to kill a nomu.

And I was bound to make a mistake eventually.

And that moment came when I was finally low on life essence, so I couldn't keep up the armor anymore, and one of the nomu's attacks caught me off guard.

Time seemed to slow down at that moment.

I saw Jiro, Sero, Mina, and the others, with a look of sheer disbelief on their faces as they stood in horror from my body's condition.

Aizawa sensei was equally distraught by the fact he couldn't make his way towards us.

But all of their faces dropped in fear when they saw my protective armor slowly dissipate as the Nomu's massive fist arched its way towards me.

Aizawa sensei: HAKU!!

Mina/Jiro/Sero/the others with them: "PLEASE! NOOO! HAKUU!!"

BOOM!

And the Nomu's huge fist slammed into my jaw, and with a nasty crunch reverberating through the air, I was sent flying across the complex.

*WHOOSH!*

*CRASH!*

A large crater cracked into the wall where I collided, chunks of debris and dust flying everywhere, and I crumpled to the floor.

A small smear of blood was splattered on the wall behind me as I slumped to the ground, back against the wall.

Thankfully, I had managed to concentrate the last of my life essence on my head and major organs before I outright died, but I couldn't say the same for my limbs.

I… couldn't feel anything with them.

Hell, I could barely even feel myself struggle to breathe with my lungs.

If it was from the damage the Nomu caused, or because I was completely out of stamina, I didn't know.

The Nomu's punch had also blown off the bottom of my mask, revealing my nose and mouth when—

*Cough* *Splurt*

I coughed up the blood resulting from my severe internal injuries.

My classmates and Aizawa sensei had their eyes wide open by the amount of blood leaving my face.

Ignoring what I coughed up, streams of blood were also trickling from my eyes, mouth, and nose, collecting on my chin, before dripping down onto my clothes.

It looked as if I was crying tears of blood, and it was probably half right because I wouldn't be surprised if actual tears were mixed in from the pain I was suffering in.

Some of the blood was caused by the damage inflicted by the nomu, but a good portion of it was the by-product of overusing my quirk.

My brain felt like it was on literal fire.

This was by far the furthest I pushed the limits of the quirk, and I was now paying the price for it.

As Aizawa tightened his fists enough that his nails dug into his hands, causing them to bleed, he screamed in frustration, "NOOO!", and he moved even more ferociously to get through the mob of villains blocking him off.

His burning red and dried out eyes, which were blocking every quirk he looked at, were also filled with despair by watching one of his students being pummeled to death right in front of him. He delivered swift punches, low sweeps, slamming villains against the ground with his scarf, but the mob was seemingly endless.

"HAKU! GET AWAY FROM THERE! PLEASE!" Mina and the rest of the students pleaded while screaming my name, but I couldn't move anymore.

Ignoring my lack of stamina, I had lost too much blood and my body was too injured.

'I really am pathetic.

I reincarnated into another world, and couldn't even win my first villain fight.

I was too overconfident in my knowledge of this world.

I should've expected things to be different when Chihiro joined the class.

I was too complacent.'

I couldn't move my head, so only using my eyes, I looked up through the glass roof of the building, watching the clouds peacefully float through the sky. Without a care in the world.

'But it's not like realizing that now will change anything.'

My vision started to go blurry from the tears pooling in my eyes, 'I just wished I could've seen my family one last time. Just once…so I could apologize.

I wasn't… strong enough to stay with them. I wasn't… good enough.'

The Nomu charged directly towards me again, ignoring Jiro, Ojiro, and the others who were trying to get to me first.

As the Nomu raised his fist to finish me off, ignoring the pleas of the others—

"GET AWAY FROM HIM!"

"DIEE!!!"

"Heaven Piercing Ice Wall!"

Midoriya, Bakugo, and Todoroki suddenly appeared at the same time.

Midoriya's 100% OFA punch coupled with Bakugo's point blank explosion sent the nomu flying backwards across the building, while Todoroki used his ice to slide under me and whisk me away from the Nomu.

Midoriya, unable to control OFA yet, crumpled to the floor with his broken legs and arm.

Thankfully Kirishima arrived as well and picked Midoriya up, carrying him away.

"OH MY GOD! Haku, d-don't worry, we'll get you some help! Just don't follow any light you see!" Cried, who I'm assuming was Hagakure, as I saw tears appear from thin air.

As she lifted my limp, upper body, to rest it against her own, I saw some of the other students like Tsuyu had arrived as well, and they were all yelling something, but by now my consciousness was going in and out from my injuries.

Nothing sounded coherent to me anymore.

Eventually, I saw All Might burst in through the roof of the building, looking like the complete juxtaposition of his usual jovial self, frown and all.

At that moment, he looked like he was capable of punching a Karen for their usual shenanigans.

'I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but at least I know it's fine… now that… he is here'.

And then I blacked out as my relief overpowered my anxiety and adrenaline.

[Third Person POV]

"NOOO he died!" Hagakure cried out, even more tears flowing out of her eyes.

Her tears dropped onto the battered body of Haku that she was holding, joining the small pool of blood beneath his face, leaking from his orrafices.

Midoriya, amongst many others screamed in horror, "What! NO!"

Though their bodies were tired, they forced themselves to make their way towards their classmate.

Upon reaching Haku, and seeing his condition up close, the students became speechless.

Jiro dropped to her knees, "It can't be…not after all he did… Not after everything he did for us." and she started crying into her hands.

The students who were among the ones Haku had protected sobbed alongside her.

Those who didn't, were frozen, refusing to accept the reality they were witnessing.

That was, until Bakugo who was standing nearby yelled, "Shut it you idiots! He just passed out, he's still breathing", bringing back whatever hope that had momentarily left them.

Yaoyorozu quickly ran up to Haku to check his condition.

She sighed in relief and with a shaky voice muttered, "Thank goodness", then immediately began making some basic emergency medical supplies.

With her trembling hands, she bandaged Haku's wounds and while trying to stay calm, asked "Does anyone know where Chihiro is?! We need to immediately do a blood infusion, he's lost too much blood!

She's a universal donor with O- blood type, and since we don't know his blood type, she's the safest option!"

The class scrambled around before they found her for her help.

All Might, who rushed here as soon as he heard the situation from young Iida, was distraught by the scene he saw.

The broken limbs of Midoriya, the wounds and terror spread across the entire class, but worst of all, the battered body of Haku.

This entire situation had angered him almost as much as his master's death.

Anger at the villains for attacking children, but also anger at himself for not being here when they needed him the most.

While the students were fighting for their lives, he was resting in his office because he selfishly overused OFA in the morning stopping petty crimes.

He turned towards the League of Villains, his domineering body seething with anger, and his mind now focused, ready to enact justice.

Authors note:

CLIFFHANGER XD

Just a random thought, Thirteeen: A pro rescue here whose quirk is black hole. The black hole sucked in and destroyed whatever it consumed. Exactly as a black hole would. Personally, I'm surprised AFO didn't kidnap her and steal her quirk.

And how did you enjoy this chapter?

Too dramatic?

Good?

How was the fighting scene?

Whatever your thoughts, I hope you at least enjoyed this chapter!
