Chapter 9

As the result of Prakash's sudden enquiry about Meera, Kalpana turned and looked at Meera in perplexity. Kalpana didn't understand why Meera was standing with bowed head in fear like she did something wrong. Seeing Kalpana standing like statue as her gaze fixed on meera without answering any of his questions, prakash got angry again and snapped his fingers in front of kalpana and question her again in a harsh tone,

" Why are you standing silently like a statue. Come on, answer me. What she is doing here ?."

Kalpana turned her attention towards prakash again by hearing snapping sound and replied him with a stutter,

"Sir.. That .. she is.. helping.. me."

After giving one last warning glare to meera, prakash turned his glance to kalpana as he warned her in a serious tone,

" Listen kalpana akka. This is my last warning. I have already told you about this. Once again I'm saying. She has nothing to do with this house and she should not do anything related to this house. Moreover, try to avoid talking to her. That is good for you and your job. The only responsibility you have for her is to cook food for her. Just keep her food in front of her room. That is more than enough for her level. Sorry to say this, akka. I will not hesitate to replace you with someone else If you disobey any of my orders related to her. Don't make me to do it."

After warning kalpana, he walked towards meera and ordered her, regardless of kalpana who was standing in a daze due to his warning,

"Follow me."

By hearing prakash talking about her lowly, meera eyes begin to produce a fresh tears in the way to express her grief and pain. Meera hung her head down as if his words did not affect her without expressing any objection to his words.

Prakash insulting or scolding her is not new to Meera, but till today he has never insulted her in front of others. Anyway, as a way to put an end to the old act of his, he has started a new habit of insulting her in front of others as a new habit from today onwards. Anyhow, she has to endure all this as a punishment for her deceitful act.

Meera took a deep breath with the thought that she had to tolerate all his insulting and enraging words just for a short time. After that, he will go to the office and she can carry out the plan which she planned before and make prakash to fall in her grip again. However, just as opposite to her expectation, Prakash's comment to her to follow him totally paralyzed her mind as like thunderbolt falling on her head.

Meanwhile, Prakash moves towards Meera's room with the confidence that Meera would follow him. However, contrary to his expectation, Meera stood at the same place regardless of his comment. Her presence and voices always made him only feel pure anger and hatred for her. To be so, now her ignorance towards him provoked his anger further and made him stride towards her fumingly and held her hand and tried to drag her towards her room mercilessly.

As the result of his merciless action, Meera lost her balance and fell down on the stairs. Due to her sudden fall, a sharp stabbing pain began to spread across her left leg. However, regardless of her condition, Prakash dragged her forcely to her room.

Meera yelped out in the pain as the result of prakash harsh handling. But, prakash didn't show any pity to meera and gave more importance to drag her to her room. However, at one point, meera cried out in pain unable to tolerate her leg pain,

"Prakash.. My leg is paining. Ahaa.. Please leave me. Please stop dragging me. I will walk by myself. Pl. Ahaa.."

Before meera could complete her sentence, prakash dragged her into the room and pushed her harshly against the wall. Meera screamed in the pain when her back hardly hit on the wall. Meera slid down on the wall in excruciating pain and curled up on the floor in pain and looked at Prakash with pain-filled eyes.

Ignoring tears and pain in her eyes, as if nothing had happened, he casually sat down on the bed and mocked her,

" Oh meera. I know how great an actress you are. So, you don't need to show your marvelous performance in front of me. Come on.. Stop it and get up now. You already know that I am getting late to the office. Sorry to say, but really I don't have much time to watch your disgusting performance. So, get up and come here to me quickly. "

Despite the sarcasm in Prakash's words, the certainty in his words made Meera understand very well that he wouldn't leave her alone if she didn't get up. However, she couldn't get up as he said, the pain in her leg stopped her from getting up. But, still she tried to get up ignoring her leg pain and the numbness she felt on her foot. But, no matter how hard she tried, all her efforts ended in failure. Therefore, after countless admits she accepted her defeat and looked at Prakash for his pity with a withered face not knowing what to do. However, Prakash did not believe in any of her efforts and was adamant in his belief that she was acting. Therefore, he stormed towards her fiercely and grabbed her hand and shouted,

"YOU BIT*H. STOP YOUR ACTING AND GET UP."
