Chapter 7

Due to Prakash's forceful push, Meera lost her balance and fell down on the floor. Even though she felt pain in her body due to sudden fall, regardless of the pain she pleaded prakash,

" Prakash, Meera is my daughter too. To be so, how can I think of spoiling her life. I also want her to be happy in her life. I will never cause any problem in her life. Please let me be with her. Please prakash. If you think that she will be spoiled if she knows that I am her mother, then as you are saying now, I will continue to be a maid but please do not separate me from her. I will never tell her that I am her mother. Please prakash.. Please.. Let me stay with her."

Prakash's anger increased when he saw Meera repeating the same thing over and over regardless of his warning. Not wanting to waste his time anymore by explaining anything to her, Prakash decided to leave without answering anything to her. Therefore, he moved away from there and began to climb the stairs to go to his room.

Seeing Prakash who went quietly without replying to her, Meera shouted as got up from the floor and tried to go towards him.

"Prakash.. Please listen to me.."

However, before she would approach him, her steps paused due to doorbell sound.

Hearing the sound of the doorbell, Prakash paused his steps and turned to see who rang the doorbell. By seeing middle aged woman standing near the front door, prakash turned around and walk towards her with a smile as he invited her inside the home,

"Come inside, aunty. I've been waiting for you for so long."

Hearing prakash's welcoming words, Kalpana smiled and entered into house. As soon as kalpana entered the house, her gaze landed on the meera who was looking at her with tear filled eyes. When she saw crying Meera, a doubt arose in Kalpana's mind that the house she was coming to work at was the right one.

Kalpana is a middle aged woman from a poor family, who lives her life by doing housework to support her family. Kalpana has full responsibility to look after her two childrens due to her husband's drug addiction. Therefore, if it comes to know that there is a need for housework somewhere, Kalpana will immediately agree to it and go to that job to manage her house.

Prakash was a friend of her boss Nivin where she is working and she came to work at prakash's house as per her boss Nivin request. Kalpana immediately agreed to Nivin's request and agreed to work at Prakash's house, with the intention to earn more money. Even though it would be difficult to work at two homes at the same time, she decides to come to this job regardless of her hardships in order to give her children the life they desire.

Kalpana thoughts were shattered due to prakash voice,

" Akka (sister), I think Nivin has already told you everything. You don't have to do much work here. You just have to cook food and keep the house clean. Just like you agreed, you can cook breakfast and lunch in the morning and dinner in the night according to your convenience. Breakfast and lunch should be ready before 8.30 Am and dinner also should be ready before 8 pm. Nivin will have already told you about salary details. Let me know if you are not okay with it. Once you finish your work, you can go home anytime. That's it, akka. Is it okay for you to work here ?."

Kalpana didn't seem to have a problem with any of the prakash conditions. Therefore, she agreed with prakash words and asked him,

" I am okay with everything you said, sir. It is already 9 am. Have you had your breakfast, sir ?. If you haven't had breakfast, I will prepare it quickly for you."

Kalpana's caring inquiry gives Prakash the satisfaction that he has hired the right person. Prakash smiled and replied her in a soft tone,

" No akka. I already had my breakfast. Today you don't need to prepare breakfast and lunch. Today you have to just shift my daughter's belongings to an upstairs room. Come akka. I will show you from which room to which room you have to shift my daughter's belongings."

After saying it, Prakash walked towards Meera's room. Kalpana also followed him obediently. Prakash paused his steps, when he approached near meera, and informed kalpana about meera as his stare fixed on meera with a mocking smile,

" By the way akka, I forgot to inform you about this person. She is none other than the maid of this house until this morning. From the last few days, she forgets her limits and starts to behave as she wishes. That's why I fired her and appointed you in that position."

Prakash has been giving meera shock after shock since this morning. Meera was totally stunned when suddenly a woman came and proclaimed that she is going to replace all her duties. She felt as if her heart was burning in agony with the thought that he was doing everything as he said and he is very certain that she should not be in her daughter's life. Moreover, his further humiliation in front of Kalpana pained her burning heart cruelly and gathered fresh tears in her eyes once again. However, regardless of her tears, Prakash continued his talk in a way to humiliate her more.

"Even though I fired her from work, I allowed her to stay here for another six months in pity. I have given her this six months as it will be difficult for her to find a good job due to her sudden termination. You have to prepare food for her as well. Always keep her share of food in her room after you finish cooking. And also don't let her to do any household chores. She is going to live in this house as a unwanted guest for next six months. So, don't involve her in any matter which related to us or this house. Okay."
