Having taken a brief respite for Rienn and Neria to calm their frenzied emotions, everyone now sat around the table in Serac's study. This time, Neria was seated alongside everyone else as Rienn's mother instead of standing quietly at attention behind Serac as the head maid.

Serac had taken the last few minutes to explain his motivations for hiding his and Neria's identities as well as explain a bit about his past. He revealed as much as was possible without going into a lengthy talk. Explaining it all in detail would take a considerable amount of time, and time was something they were currently short on.

"So your name is actually Serac, Dad? Then that would make our family name Granz instead of Carmine."

"That is correct, though you would do well to keep up appearances," Serac replied.

"Using the alias of Carmine will still grant you a certain degree of protection. Shinryu and his followers most likely have not learned your names."
