Alex’s house

Characters: Musa, Alex, Ruth, Wisdom and Antoinette

Alex honks at the gate and Musa runs to open.

Alex: Musa... How are you?

Musa: I'm fine ooooh boss

Ruth: How are you doing Musa?

Musa: I'm doing fine madam. Welcome madam.

Ruth: Thank you.

Musa: How are you Wisdom?

Wisdom: I'm feeling better uncle.....

Musa: Wow.... Wow..... Thank God. You are welcome back home.

Wisdom: Thank u uncle.

Alex drives in front of the house. They arrive and alight. Antoinette helps Wisdom inside.

Alex: My boy at long last we are at home. I believe you are happy now. (He smiles and looks at Wisdom's face)

Wisdom: Yeah. I'm more than happy... (He smiles)

Antoinette: Let me get you something to drink my dear. (She gets to the kitchen to get him orange juice)

Wisdom: Thank you auntie Antoinette. You know my favorite. (He smiles and look at Antoinette's face)

Ruth: Honey can't you see Wisdom is getting on with Antoinette?

Alex: Hmmmmn. (He quietly sits on the sofa and turn on the television)

Ruth: Okay honey please let me get into the kitchen and dish out something for us to eat. I can see you are already famished.

Alex: Okay. Hurry then. (Wisdom and his dad sit and watch television as they continue to chat)

Wisdom: Daddy, how is my grandmother faring?

Alex: Oooh grandmother is perfectly fine. She sends her regards. She says she'll be visiting us soon.

Wisdom: Wow!!! That will be awesome. For a very long time I haven't set eyes on him. I really miss her. I wish you came with her.

Alex: I can see you have missed grandmother dearly.

Wisdom: Yeah as you know it's been a very long time we visited her.

Alex: Don't worry she'll be here soon.

Wisdom: So daddy how is everybody at the village?

Alex: Well they are all fine

Wisdom: So what did you bring to me from the village?

Alex: Hmmmmn it's a pity my boy.

Wisdom: Why daddy?? What is wrong??? (He inquisitively asks)

Alex: You see we were preparing to come and that is when we received the call from Auntie Antoinette that you are at the hospital.

Wisdom: So you didn't get me anything.... (He frowns)

Alex: Don't worry son I'll get you something tomorrow when I close from work.

Wisdom: Thank you daddy. You are the best. I love you.

Thirty Minutes Later, Food is ready...

Ruth: Hello guys..... Dinner is served. (Antoinette comes from the kitchen) They all sit on the table for lunch. Antoinette serves the food.

Ruth: Before we start enjoying the meal, I want somebody to pray for us.....

Antoinette: Who is leading?

Everywhere becomes silent for a while..... After a while, Wisdom talks.

Wisdom: Daddy please pray..... (They all laugh at Alex)

Alex: (Looks at Wisdom with surprise on his face) Okay let's have a word of prayer. (He prays)

Ruth: Amen..... Now let's enjoy our meal.

Antoinette: Eeeerm before we begin with the meal, I want to say something. I want us to respect the table manners. (Alex smiles)

Alex: We are listening...

Antoinette: Mr Alex I'll want to apologize for the incident that happened in your absence.

Ruth: Antoinette do you have to go back to this? It's nothing. It was just an accident.

Antoinette: I know it was an accident but I shouldn't have but you into this stress.

Alex: Eeeeerm Antoinette you don't have to be sorry about this. As my wife said it was an accident just that it would have been prevented. I believe we can now go on with our food?

Antoinette: Yeah. I thank you for accepting my apology.

They continue with their meal.
