Angie is currently  washing the dishes when her phone rings. She ignores it but the phone keeps ringing, so she dries her hand to answer the phone.

"Oo, unsa man?"she answers the phone.

("Yes,  what is it" she answer phone.)

"Day,  tabangi mi diri ba.  May nadisgrasiya ug motor diri daro namo. Basin mamatay ni," Anna's voice is shaking  in fear.

("Sweetie, we need your help. There's an accident here in our field.  He might die here," Anna's voice is shaking in fear. )

"Ha! Unsa may buhaton nako?" she too sounds nervous after hearing it.

("Huh! What am I gotta do?" she too sounds nervous after hearing it.)

"Bring your truck here, quick!" Anna commands her.

("Dalha ang truck diri, dali!" Anna commands her.)

She waste no time. She runs to  the parking lot, starts the engine and drive quickly. Because of the adrenaline rush, she forgot that she has sprained ankle and she runs without feeling the pain. It only takes five minutes for her to reach the field where the accident happened. She she is pulling over, she can't help but feeling nervous. She go directly the couple watching the poor victim on the ground.

"Angie, dalhon nato siya sa hospital," Johnny says.

("Angie, let's take him to the hospital," Johnny says.)

"Okay."

"Naa ba ka'y puwede ikasapnay niya nga flat surface, bisan unsa?" he asks.

("Do you have any something flat surface so we can lay his body on it?" he asks.)

"Mora'g naa'y gamay nga plywood didto," she walks fast heading back to the truck.

("I think  I have a small plywood there," she walks fast heading back to the truck.)

"Here," Angie hands him the plywood.

"Hon, kamong duha ni Angie sa tiilan," Johnny commands them.

("Hon, you and Angie will lift his leg," Johnny commands them.)

"Okay," Anna replies.

"Wait. Hinay-hinay, ayaw kalita kay basin nag-internal bleeding siya. Hon, ako magtaas iyang ulunan.  Ikaw ang iyang tiil ug tuhod, unya ikaw magbutang sa plywood Angie para maplastar lawas niya. Hinay-hinay kay basin fractured ang pelvis niya."

("Wait. Slowly, I will lift his upper body and Hon, you'll lift his leg slowly, he might have fractured pelvis or internal bleeding. Angie put the plywood right away so his body can rest.")

"Okay," the two women reply simultaneously.

"Alright.  One,  two,  three," then lift the body slowly and Angie put the plywood right after she sees space between the body from ground. Then  they put the body so slowly.

"Alsahon nato siya paingon sa truck. Kamong duha diha sa tiilan,  ako diri sa uluhan. Ayaw kalimot, kinahanglan tupong ang level sa atong pag-alsa sa iyang lawas." Although Johnny is not a rescuer but because he's fond of watching medical related shows and he somehow applies what he saw.

("Let's put him on the truck. I'll lift his upper body and you'll lift  his lower body. Remember, we need to maintain the level as we lift his body." Although Johnny is not a rescuer but because he's fond of watching medical related shows and he somehow applies what he saw.)

They lift him, steadily  and slowly and put him on the truck. Angie doesn't bother to know  who's that  victim because what she's concern about is, will this man survive the accident.

"Hon, pabilin na lang ko para bantayan ang bata.  Ikaw na lang uban ni Angie sa hospital. Looy-a  'ning tawhana, unta mabuhi pa siya," Anna says to her husband

("Hon, I'll stay to watch the kid. You go with Angie to the hospital. I hope this man will live. Oh poor man," Anna says to her husband.)

"Okay. "

Johnny remains on the back where the victim is lying to watch the victim. And Angie quickly get in the truck and drives the victim  to the hospital.  The thing, going to the hospital will take 45 minutes. She drives faster and safer as she can. While driving she can't help but worry for the victim. Although she has no relation with the victim, but the fear of losing someone again makes her anxious and sad. She lost her mother and grandparents. It was just a week after the burial of his grandfather, and now this stranger on her truck will die if they can't make it to the hospital right away.

"Di siya puwedeng mamatay sa akong truck!" she says to herself. Then  she step on the gas pedal harder.

("This man can't die! Not in my truck!" she says to herself. Then she step on the gas pedal harder.)

As they arrives  in the hospital, she quickly call the emergency responders. They quickly take the victim in to the trauma section. Everyone is quickly moving, working together to save the victim. Few minutes later, a doctor approaches her.

"Mrs., kinahanglang I-CT scan namo siya para mabal-an kung naa ba siya'y fracture o internal bleeding," the male  doctor says.

("Mrs., we need to CT scan him to know if ever he has fracture or internal bleeding," the male doctor says.)

"Dili ko siya bana. Nadisgrasiya ra siya duol sa amoa.  Wa ko kaila niya,  wala pa gani nako makit-i ug klaro ang nawong niya. Ngitngit kaayo unya natarantar sad mi," she relates.

("He's not my husband. He was in an accident near our place. I don't know  him, and I haven't even seen his face clearly. It was dark and we panicked," she relates.)

"Mao ba? O sige, gusto mong makita siya sa di namo dalhon sa CT Scanner?"

("Oh really. Do you wanna see him before we take him to the CT scanner"?)

"Ayaw na lang, doc.  Kay ug basin unsa'y mahitabo niya,  dili ko unya katulog sa pagkaguilty," she refuses.

("Doc, I don't want to. Because I think I won't be able to sleep if ever something will happen to him. I'll feel guilty," she refuses.)

"Okay.  We're taking him now."

Then the doctor proceeds and take the   victim to the scanner. Right after they left, she begins to feel the pain on her ankle. She realizes that she forcedly use her sprained ankle surely it'll take longer heal.

She go back  to the waiting area where he left Johnny because, only one person is allowed to get in the trauma section with the victim.

"Johnny, pauli na lang. Naghulat ang pamilya nimo. Dad-a na lang ng truck, maghabal-habal nalang ko unya," she sit besides him.

("Johnny,  you can go home now. You're family is waiting. Take the truck, I'll hire motorgrab later," she sit besides him.)

"Unya, ikaw diay?"

("Then what about you?")

"Ipacheck sa nako ni akong bungkol. Sakit kaayo akong piang,  natandog ni siguro ganiha."

"I need to see a doctor. My sprained is aching so badly. I think I forced my ankle."

"May kuwarta ka  ba?"

("Do you have money?")

"Nakalimot ko sa wallet."

("I forgot my wallet.")

"Ako na lang ihatod ang kuwarta unya, sayo pa man. Pahulamon na lang sa teka."

("It's still early so I'll get back with the money. You can use ours.")

"Salamat. Bayaran kita pag-uwi ko."

("I'll pay you when I get home.")

"Sige. Una na ko," then he get the key and leave.

("Alright. I'll go  ahead then,"then he get the key and leave.)

She immediately go to the information asking for help.  She relates that she sent the victim of an accident and she forcedly used her sprained ankle. However, they refers her to comeback tomorrow since OPD operates until 4 in the afternoon. As she's walking the hallway, the doctor who the victim in the scanner calls her.

"Miss,  gibalhin na namo siya sa ward.  Ang result sa scan 12 Pa,  siguro mga 8 o 9 am. Apan,  di puwede nga wala siya'y kauban kay basin naa'y mga kinahanglang paliton o isugo. Fill out pud og form kay di naman puwede  was siya records diri."

"Miss, we already move  him to the ward. The result of the CT Scan will be available 12 later and that's 8 or 9 am. However, we can't just let him stay here alone. In case we need someone to run for an errand. Also please fill out the form, we can't let him stay without records."

"Doc, niingon na ko nimo, wa lagi ko kaila niya. Alangan man ako motubag sa iyang bill. Ako man gani, naa koy piang sa bungkol, giantos lang nako na matandog basta madala lang siya diri. Humana akong responsibility sa iya," she argue with the doctor.

("Doc, I as I told you,  I don't know him.  And it's not my responsibility to shoulder his expenses. Even I myself suffering sprained ankle and I didn't mind it as long as I can take him here. My responsibility ends there," she argue with the doctor.)

"Okay. Fill out ra ang form  para records niya ug ang detalye sa aksidente. Mohangyo na lang ko nimo  nga ubani siya basin hangtod lang ugma pagkakuha sa result, basin makamata na siya."

("Okay.  Just fill out the for his records and do include incident details. And please stay until the result come, hopefully he will gain his conscious tomorrow.")

"Okay. But I will not shoulder his expenses. Let's be clear."

"Okay. I'll take you to his ward."

Then they head directly to the ward he is in. As they are getting closer, she somehow feels nervous, but she doesn't know why. And she look at the man's face, she thinking that he's seems familiar. She looks at him again but this is closer, and there she realizes that she already met  him!  How could she ever forget the man who made her limp! How could she ever forget the arrogant tourist who ruined her day! She feels her knees are weak that she needs to hold the bed to support her legs from collapsing.

"White potato?" all that she says.
