Chapter 10: Star Idol Entertainment

Third Person's Pov

The next day.

Dara went to work when Uriah immediately pulled her to the staff room to talk.

"Mr. Alex called me yesterday after we got home last night" Uriah stated.

"The one who assassinated us yesterday?" She asked because she's not sure.

"Exactly," he replied.

"What did he say?" asked Dara.

"He said if we want to sign a contract under them. If we are interested, he is available to talk to us later about it today," he explained.

"But I haven't talked about this yet to Eli. Besides, is it alright for us to immediately sign the contract without the result for the audition?" Dara said worriedly.

"No, I think it's fine since we are not the ones who suggested it. Also, they are the ones who are producing the series we just applied for. If we get the role, we are basically under them," Uriah explained.

"I don't have any idea regarding this matter but what you said has some point. If you're going to meet him later, let me know so I can join you," she said.

Uriah nodded and they both went back to work at the restaurant.

At the end of Dara's shift, Uriah asks their manager if he can leave early, happily their manager allows him to go under time so they could meet Alex.

"Let's go!" Uriah said to Dara. They were about to leave the restaurant when someone called them.

"Wait!"

They both turned to see who spoke. It was Selah.

"Why?" Uriah said with annoyance when Selah reached their location.

They wonder why she is no longer in uniform and carrying her belongings.

"Don't tell me-" Uriah didn't finish what he was going to say when Selah happily nodded and interrupted him.

"I will go with you," she said, widely smiling at them.

"Huh? But why? What if they notice and look for you?" Dara questioned.

"It's fine. I already informed the Boss and he said yes so I can leave. Also, you can't leave without your manager, right?" she confidently said.

"No, you can't be my manager. No way!" Uriah objected.

"Tss, Don't act entitled. I'm not here for you, I'm here for Dara" Selah stated.

"Me?" Dara replied, puzzled.

"Yes, I know it's your first time and as a good friend of yours. I want to be your manager to help you," Selah said, convincing Dara to let her in.

Because they don't have much time and Dara agreed to let Selah be her manager, Uriah said yes to let her in the end.

They were happy to go to the star entertainment where Mr. Alex Quimbo at.

*Star Idol Entertainment*

They all commuted and arrived at the company.

"Hello Mr. Alex. We are in the building's lobby right now," Uriah said in the call while standing beside the information desk.

"[Ow, Hi. Have you been there for a while? Don't leave. I will pick you up personally. Wait for me,]" Mr. Alex ends the call after Uriah agrees to him.

Dara and Selah approach Uriah to ask what did Mr. Alex said.

"What did he say? Which floor?" Selah asked.

"He said, he will pick us up. Let's sit here and wait for him," Uriah instructed and they sat in the lobby.

After a minute of patiently waiting, Mr. Alex arrived and approached them.

"Hi, my beautiful and handsome talent. Welcome to Star Company!" He cheerfully greeted me.

"Hello," They all stood up and greeted back.

Mr. Alex notices someone not familiar to him and asks.

"Oh, you're with someone. May I know who she is?" Mr Alex asked.

Dara and Uriah both look at each other awkwardly. Selah notices it and decides to introduce herself.

"Hi, it's my pleasure to meet you. My name is Selah Galvez. Dara's manager." she confidently introduce.

The man's face was shocked but didn't say anything about it.

"ow, ok. This way please," Mr. Alex said and guided them to the 5th floor where his office is.

–Ting– The elevator rings when they right their floor.

Dara and others were amazed by the company's interior design. The building has 24 floors and has a black and white motif. It also has a big chandelier at the center of the building that you can see from the ground floor up to the 9th floor.

"Please, sit comfortably while I'm getting our contract," Mr. Alex moved his hand in front of him to instruct them to come in first.

The three of them sit beside the big ground table.

'Maybe this is their meeting room,' Dara thought.

"Dara?" Selah called.

"Hmm?"

"Make sure you understand and read the contract before signing in, alright?" Selah said.

"I understand!" Dara replied while nodding.

A minute later, Mr. Alex came back with someone carrying some snacks and drinks for them.

"Thank you,"

They put it in front of us then leave without saying anything.

"I'm hoping to hear some good news from you," Mr. Alex started. "Please, have some," he added, insisting on the snacks.

To show respect, Dara and other get their drink individually and have a few sip before facing Mr. Alex again.

As I told you on the phone earlier, we are interested in being a talent under Star Company but we just have some questions to ask before we start the contract signing," Uriah straightforwardly said.

"Yeah, go ahead," Mr. Alex joyfully said.

"The thing is -," Uriah replied hesitatingly.

"Go ahead, Don't worry, I'll answer all of your questions with pure honest," Mr. Alex said.

"Well, we're just concerned about the fact that we didn't undergo any audition to Star Company or anything," Dara asked.

"Oh, don't worry about that. If you get any role from yesterday, you are automatically part of us," he answered.

"But like what was said before, I'm just a newbie. Is it possible for me to sign a contract under your company?" Dara wirriedly asked.

"That's fine, if you sign under our company. We are going to enroll you in an acting class and workshops to improve your acting skills. Also, we're going to handle you properly," Mr. Alex replied, assuring Dara not to worry about it. "But we just have some minor problems."

"What is it?" Uriah asked.

"The thing is, we can't guarantee your contract from us if you have your own manager," Mr. Alex answered, uncomfortable.

"But why? I have my degrees and have the skills of talking to clients, training, have business experience, and marketing knowledge," Selah defended herself.

"That's right, also Selah is my close friend and I'm comfortable working with her," Dara defended her.

"I truly understand your point but the company has its own criteria for the manager. I can't let you have your own manager unless she(Selah) applied to us and be appointed as your manager," Mr. Alex explained.

It's sad but they both accepted that Selah can't be Dara's manager.

"Fine," Selah said, sulking. "But I can still stay right?"

"Sure," he simply said before turning to face Uriah and Dara. "Do you have any more concerns?" He asked.

Both Uriah and Dara shake their heads as an answer.

"Great, now. Let's proceed to the contract," he passed the envelopes with only the contact agreement.

Mr. Alex let Selah inside the room and  discuss the contract with them.

After an hour, Uriah and Dara sign the contract.

"I'm happy to congratulate you for being a part of Star Idol Entertainment," Mr. Alex cheerfully announced. "I look forward to working with you two," he smiled widely.

"Please take care of us," Dara said.

"I surely will. Anyway, both of you will start attending workshops from tomorrow so I'm expecting to see you tomorrow here at 9 am," Mr. Alex stated.

"Sorry but I still have work tomorrow around that time," Dara interfered.

"Ow, that's sad to know. Alright, let's fix that for now but just to let you know. Your journey as an actress is not easy. Better to choose wisely what to put as number 1 priority," Mr. Alex said.

"Thank you so much," Dara gratefully said.

Dara was confused about Uriah's behavior. 'He didn't say anything about our schedule even though we have the same situation,' she thought.

Mr. Alex dismissed them after successfully signing the contract. He soon guides them out and smiles.

"Oh my gosh! I can't believe I just signed a contract," Uriah happily said.

"Me too, I never thought I could be an Idol but look at me. I just signed a contract for it," Dara can't believe what just happened to them.

"Yah and I don't want to ruin your mood but I'm just wondering about something," Selah said, touching her chin.

"What is it?" Dara asked.

"Don't you think that you easily became an artist under them? Like, it's not even sure if you guys will be able to enter the casting but here they are, making sure you will sign with them," Selah stated, walking backwards to face them.

"You do have a point but," Dara agreed. "What do you think, Seby?"

"You're just thinking so much. Maybe they thought about our beauty as an asset. Don't think too much guys," he simply tosses their worries.

"Maybe you're right," Selah unconsciously said as they walked towards the bus station.
