#Chapter156
He put both of his arms on my shoulders and forced me to listen to him. /"Listen, Zara. You've already told me that your pack back home is under the threat of rogues and you going there put you in danger. As the goddess said, you being there is important and as you friend and as your Batair, your safety is important to me. You are important to me. I can't let you go in a dangerous place, wondering how you are, when I'm supposed to be there to protect you. I'm supposed to protect you. Let me do my job. Please./"
I immediately shook my head. No way, I wasn't going to let Ethan come with me. He may have been my Batair but like he said, if rogues were in fact attacking the pack, I couldn't let him walk in danger because of little old' me. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to him. I cared about him and didn't want him in harm's way, anymore than the people I had watched die in my dream last night.
