Chapter 71- Hunting.

Sebastien's POV.

Hunting, I've always loved it, every Vampire did, it displayed or made us showcase our feral nature.

It also made us what we really were; predators, we were always predators, as much as we've always wanted to make everything we hunted our prey.

Hunting for hunters were like finding an animal and also killing it for money, it somehow sounded like they were mercenaries, they killed the animals for money, to feed or sometimes, to take care of their family members.

But Hunting for vampires was more than just doing it for money like hunters who killed for money always.

We kill and hunt for the thrill, we do anything to get that adrenaline that pumps through our veins, we are naturally predators and who ever falls into our laid trap, becomes our prey at the end of the day.

I smiled as I felt my family hover around the forest, we've begun hunting for about thirty minutes now and we didn't get anything, it was like all the preys left the forest today, and we didn't have anyone or even an animal to feed on.

I smiled, as an animal came, I could sense the animal but it wasn't close, I decided to follow through that scent I had.

I inhaled deeply as I was filled with the scent of blood, it wasn't pleasant smelling, but it was just an okay meal for any vampire who found it, I planned to find it first.

I sped off to the direction of the scent and paused, it smelt like the animal was injured and also running from something.

I smiled ferally as I thought of the animal's fear if he saw me, one thing about animals is that they knew who was their predator and who wasn't, they also knew how to react and sometimes hide from Predators, but I knew how to always catch them, I always liked it when the animals tried the hide and seek method with me or the running away from what is scary method.

It thrilled me it made me more excited than I ever was, who was I even lying to, every vampire got excited once they could smell the fear off, whoever or whatever they wanted to take, hunt or harm, or even threaten, the fear even makes us enjoy whatever it is we were doing and with our heightened sense, it felt better and good.

I smirked as I finally noticed the antelope ahead, he looked like he was with another, it was like free double promo a shop would keep for someone.

I stomped my feet getting their attention, they turned in fright, staring at me I made my eyes change to it's red colour, they widened their eyes and I stomped my feet again waiting for them to move, one thing I wanted to do when I hunted was to have a fair hunting, and by fair hunting I wanted my prey to get a chance to save their selves, and if they got the chance to escape then it was fair and another it gave me the thrill to pursue them and see them run.

I shifted slightly giving them a head start and they took off, blazing with enough speed, they were young and still strong with enough blood in their veins and that made me excited to catch them.

According to the rules of those who won the game, we could share the first meat or even keep it to ourselves, though mother didn't mention everything when she announced it, but she didn't really need to, we knew the rules already.

I went after them smiling as I ran slowly not using my full speed yet, I paused when I noticed them drift apart from each other, they wanted to take different parts, I had to choose one between them, but I definitely wasn't going to be outsmarted by antelopes, I was going to get both of them.

I stared ahead of the route they both took and I smirked, I had many gifts and abilities as a vampire, I didn't use them all.

I kept some in check because I sometimes discovered new ones everyday, and it shocked me, I couldn't even tell my father anymore, I couldn't even dare tell Grandfather about my gifts or abilities anymore, he would've exaggerated it at the council since he was part of them, just to make me a rulling member.

My grandfather's love or so called care and love for me was mainly for his political interests here, he really wanted me to be his pawn in his political game and he could control me and make me do whatever he wanted.

He wasn't always like this, grandma dying changed him a lot, he became the over ambitious vampire he is today.

I picked up my pace and went after the antelope at the right, I paused slightly when I remembered that a route ahead will make both of them bump into me, I went ahead for the route running exactly at their pace.

The thrill of catching them all at once was making me more excited than I could imagine, my senses were already alert, I could also feel their speed, and I increased mine, running on the same pace with them, I smirked as I saw the route ahead, it was closer and they were also getting closer, I quickened my pace a little smirking as they came closer, I caught them immediately, clutching one with my left hands and bitting the other, draining it of all the blood.

I drank all his blood, and dropped it off, I mind spoke to Gabriel asking if he had caught something, he said, he did but he gave it to his family, I dropped the antelope I caught, it didn't even have the energy to run anymore, I clutched his neck till it was week, my claws were already showing in his neck.

Gabriel came in the next two minutes with Lyn behind him, I smiled at them and Gabriel picked the antelope draining it of all the blood immediately, I smiled wider as I saw Matteo appear all of a sudden, coming down from a tree, he still loved trees.

"So I figured that we've all Hunted yeah?" I asked.

"Yeah, Dad and Mom fed, Grandfather too," Lyn paused wiping her mouth with an handkerchief, "we've all fed too, I don't know about the others though." She gestured to us and leaned close to a tree.

"Phew, that's enough for today, at least it will help with my appetite when I meet a human in the grounds and do whatever I want without actually killing them, or those who come willingly for use to feed them." Gabriel said and I smiled.

"The only thing I like the council for is training us, how to control our taste." Matteo said.

"Yup, I agree with that, it makes us a little less like than those idiots who just kill on a whim whenever they got hungry." Gabriel said and I nodded.

"We've spent hours hunting, and I feel like we're satisfied, I can finally go rest." I said sighing.

"Yeah, I want to meet your mate again, gosh she's so refreshing." Matteo said with a mischievous smile, I growled at him without even realising it.

"Easy there, easy there." He said raising his hands in the air.

"I just like her, she can be my friend that's, and she's so fun to talk to." He added.

"Be careful, Bas could kill you for even thinking of his mate," Gabriel said with a smirk, "that's not allowed." He added exaggeratedly.

"That's enough teasing from all of you." I said with a small smile.

"Let's race back home."Lyn suggested.

"Okay, I'm in." Matteo said with a smile.

"And, one, two, three, we're on." Gabriel said and they all took off, I smiled as I watched them, I was the fastest and I was going to reach and pass them anyway, so I let them go first.

I raced to them and passed them, landing at the castle first, I saw others and I waved at them, it looks like we were the last people to be back, I smiled as Matteo came second, Gabriel and Lyn reached at the same time.

I had an eerie feeling, I didn't know why, but something was a little off, it was making me irritated.

"Son, I don't think Raina is at home, we've called her and she hasn't answered, I dunno if she's sleeping, or if she's..." I didn't wait for my father to finish his statement.

I teleported to my house, I went inside immediately searching every rooms, I searched every room and I didn't see her, I growled loudly, I didn't even know what to say or react or how to act, I was going crazy.

"Gabriel, come with me." I said as I went downstairs.

I saw Matteo and Lyn follow me, I needed to find her.
