Chapter 156- The West City Arena.

Kathryn's POV.

And I did see, the way Gabriel said I would,it was obviously crowdy, I wasn't surprised due to the number of cars I saw outside, Bas dragged me with him, and we found a good seat, it felt like it was reserved, because the seat was in a very good area and no one sat there.

The place was filled, I'm sure if I tried shouting I wouldn't even hear myself, I turned to Lyn who was staring ahead.

"What happens here?" I asked no one in particular, but it was directed at them all, they knew this place more than I did.

"You should be patient, you'll see." Matteo said and I rolled my eyes, even if I saw what would happen here soon, I still needed explanation.

"What happens here?" I asked Bas, he turned to me and I kept staring at him, waiting for an answer, I didn't even know if I was going to get one.

"Many things, dangerous things actually, but it's okay, as long as you don't get picked for the game, you just watch it, it's better." Bas replied.

"Woah you know I almost forgot, anyone can be picked." Gabriel said shaking his head, I could see the others nod too and I turn to Bas trying to understand what was going on.

"What game, and why can anyone be picked?" I asked again.

"It's a battle, and illegal battle of course, if you win, you get a fine furnished room, and also, other winnings they add sometimes." Matteo said.

"Woah, that's surprising." I muttured turning to face the crowd again, it felt like the whole place was considered moving in it.

"Yeah I know right." Bas replied and I laughed, hoping the person wasn't angry, whoever would come out, but it looked like they did not care.

Bas paused when he saw it was them and he paused even when he realized it was time to get them.

"Woah, I didn't even know they would be outside, of course you're ready, and it can happen to anyone." I heard Gabriel said, and I could hear the door close.

I checked the door nervously, it felt like it was going to open or close soon, but it looked like it would do any of that and I was nervously waiting and ready for it, it wasn't ready for being seen then, but I hope it was now, I don't care how it would hide himself, but I didn't regret marrying him.

The entrance door didn't open and I realised that it wouldn't, the entrance was now blocked, whatever fight would happen, will happen soon.

I could hear the gear and screams of most people there, they wanted the spectator, or whoever would come out to start soon ,I didn't know how this worked, but I was ready for anything that would happen to the kids I met that looked terrified to be here, I could see them look and act strong, but they weren't, they were very terrified, they stared at the stage with water eyes.

The scream that was let out almost deafened me, if I didn't cover my ear, I could see the walk to the stage and I realized, the battle was starting soon.

The Announcer looked less fit for this place, with his pot belly and overgrown shirt, but he was celebrated because he was the announcer here and he was pretty known, that's why he was liked.

"Are you ready ladies and gentlemen?" He asked and the number of no, could finally convince them, but I noticed that they wouldn't hear, the number of yes scream would over power theirs.

I hadn't even started yet and I was already getting tired, it seemed like I won't know what to do, and all I wanted was to help them out of here, but it was obvious they won't be any leaving till the fight started and finished.

I made the children close their eyes and I made them focus on games in the tablet Lyn carried, hoping it would distract them completely, which didn't work, but at least it did a little, they kept glancing up at the stage when the announcer came in and they closed their ears, they were more focused on it after the screams.

"Okay, I can see everyone is ready, even I am ready too." He said looking very excited.

"You know how the rules of this place goes.", He said and I could hear loud "yes."

"I'm glad everyone still remembers, because that's what happens everytime they came." The Announcer said.

I was just waiting for him to announce the fight and it should just happen, it felt like it was more than just a fight, it felt like it was more, and it wasn't Going to be fair, if everything was going to be used.

"So you know how it goes, last week's champion would be up against, the next person we have no idea of, but would be picked by our circle picker." The announcer said and I could hear screams of appluads.

"So that stuffs picks anyone from the audience yeah?" I asked and they all nodded staring at the kids I found here, they were worried about them too.

"So if it picked someone weak, it would just win because the person can't defend his or herself?" I asked again and they nodded.

I felt sick, I now understood why I thought that this place would be problematic, it really was, so if the stuff picked the kids, they would fight?, I shook my head hoping for it to not pick anyone.

"So if the person picked wins, what should happen?" I ask.

"They can go, and they'll be famous, the winners are always people that won't be easy to beat, like the one today, it's their winner, so if the winner comes from us, which rarely happens and people bet on their players." Matteo said.

"Which is really unfair, because they are trained for it." I said and they nodded.

"But it's always fun to watch," Matteo replied and I turned to him, "not all the times, but you learn lot of combat skills from their fighters actually." He added and I nodded.

"Okay, so it's about time for the champion to battle the next person, who may be or may not be a champion." The announcer said.

"It's a fight to finish." He added and I stilled, I didn't want to believe it, but it sounded like what it was.

"It's a fight to finish…." I couldn't even complete my statement but they all nodded.

"A fight till death." Dylan said and I sighed, this was a lot and I had to know this city, I obviously needed to know this.

"Welcome Rhinos." The Announcer said and I stared frightened when the Rhinos came out, Bas gripped my hands and I offered a small smile of thanks to him.

"I shouldn't have brought you here." Bas said and I shook my head.

"It may be scary, but I need to experience this.", I replied kissing him on the cheeks, he nodded and we both faced the stage.

Rhinos looked almost like his name, and I could somehow feel it's power emanating from the stage, he was really strong.

"Woah, his power is a lot." Dylan said staring at him with a frown on his face.

"Do you think they really do that shit?" Gabriel ask and I stilled, what shit were they talking about?

"Yeah I guess so, they have that lab, they inject him with multiple powers and abilities of other supernaturals, so all their fighters would be powerful." Dylan replied and my heart hammered, so it wasn't just his power, it was something stolen too, and injected which could be any kind of outcome, and this time it was the menacing type of outcome from what I was seeing.

"Okay, so you've all met the Rhinos." The announcer said.

"Now let's see who'll be picked to go against the rhinos." The Announcer said and the stuff started circling around everyone in the stadium,I could feel people hid around and tumble from hiding, so it won't pick them, but it kept circling around the place, circling and circling everyone here, I sometimes felt like it would pick me, but it passed our place twice, we were all tense, I hoped it didn't pick anyone here, and it also shouldn't pick the kids either, that would be something else.

It circled for five minutes and it finally landed somewhere causing a gasp to escape my lips, I was terrified when it landed on Bas, I did not care how strong Bas was, but I didn't want it going against the Rhinos, I could see the shocked expression of the squad, we were terrified for him.

"Sebastien Edmondo would go against the Rhinos." The announcer said and I heard cheers.

"Place your bets." The announcer added and everyone there rushed to do it.

"Place the bets." Bas said standing up, I didn't want Rhinos winning so I picked Bas as the winner, we all did, I was terrified, it was fight to the death.
