My Better Half (she's mine)

Kol locked eyes with her over his wine glass, she was as pretty as sin. He wanted her, he wanted to take her right there. He could barely remember the last time he felt this strongly about any woman. What surprised him most was the fact that he didn't just want her body, he wanted her heart too. But that won't be too difficult to get because since the first time she saw him, he's been able to make her heart flutter and her knees go weak. She wanted him this much even if she barely knew him. They were created for each other. They've got ties and nothing could pull them apart. This was her belief. This is a story of love between two people who were always meant to be together. But sadly, the surrounding misfortunes aimed at separating them pictures the opposite - that they were never meant to be. Warning: this novel has mature contents. Reader's discretion advised.

I Believe You

Next day at the office, Kol just finished with a conference meeting. It was about time for lunch with Rebecca. He was a bit anxious and couldn't help but anticipate.

He had already booked a reservation in one of the most exquisite hotels in California and had given her all the details.

He asked to pick her up but she insisted on driving herself from work and so he agreed. He didn't want to keep her waiting, so he closed his laptop and got ready to leave.

David whom he had phoned a few moments ago came in almost immediately and walked towards him.

"boss, are you sure you don't want me to tag along?" he asked.

He was used to going out with Kol at all times, even on special dinner meetings. But he was surprised as this time around, Kol asked to go alone.

Kol stayed silent which meant that he remained firm an his decision and so David didn't say any further.

"take care of everything in my absence" was all Kol said before walking out of the office. David immediately went out after him and saw him to his car. He had cleared his schedule for the next three hours as regards to the lunch.

In his car was a bodyguard and a driver. He was used to going with only a driver wherever he went. But after that incident, he knew he couldn't lose guard and so he started going out with at least a bodyguard. Those guards on under cover protection we're also performing their duties as usual.

He got into his car and was driven off towards the hotel. He had also made sure to take a bouquet along. At least, if there was one thing he knew, it was the fact that most ladies love flowers. At least, Rebecca shouldn't be an exception, he thought.

He tried his best to hide his excitement and anxiousness as he walked into the private room which he had booked for their meeting.

As soon as he got into the room, he saw the effulgence of beauty sitting at the table, talking a sip of water from a glass.

She was wearing a red one piece dress which was a bit short exposing just the right amount of her beautiful thighs. Then she wore a black four inch heels to match her outfit.

she really has a good sense of fashion, he thought

He halted in his steps for a moment and then walked in

As soon as she noticed he had arrived, she looked over to where he was and offered a smile

'f***' Kol screamed in his mind. His brain was about to go off. That smile was enough to knock any man off his feet.

"you're right on time Mr.... uhmm Kol' she said still smiling as he got closer to her. He was holding a bouquet of flowers

"I apologize for keeping you waiting" he said shortly placing the bouquet on her outstretched arms.

"it's fine, I arrived not long ago" she replied still smiling

'this guy is such a gentleman' she thought. He looked so perfect in his ash color suit. His jet black hair was made into a prefect hairdo which complemented his outfit. He was just too perfect in her eyes

Sitting opposite her, he got to see her fully. She was an angel sent from heaven, because he didn't believe such beauty could exist on earth if they weren't angels, so natural. He silently inspected her chin to see if there were any injury from the previous day, but he couldn't find a trace. He sighed in relief.

Her dress had a v-neck giving him a good view of her beautiful neckline and voluptuous cleavages. Her brown hair flowed over her shoulders giving her the perfect look. She was the exact definition of perfection

Kol locked eyes with her over his wine glass, she was as pretty as sin. He wanted her, he wanted to take her right there.

He could barely remember the last time he felt this strongly about any woman. What surprised him most was the fact that he didn't just want her body, he wanted her heart too

He hoped she wouldn't freak out when he finally confessed his feelings to her. Yeah, he just had to face it. He knew he wanted her and he feared that if he didn't tell her soon enough, he might lose her to someone else. Yeah, his feelings were just recently discovered but he knew he wouldn't be able to stay without her for long. He just hoped she felt even a little bit of it for him.

A man dressed neatly in a suit, probably the waiter came to take their orders. And not long, they began eating.

Rebecca thought of topics to bring up but was left with nothing as she didn't know how to click a conversation. Maybe because the man sitting opposite her was her boss.

"would you believe me if I told you I've been searching for you since the first time I met you?" Kol asked her breaking the awkward silence.

Rebecca shifted her gaze from the food in front of her to the man before her. 'he'd been searching for her? really?' she thought. She was surprised he would say that but he didn't seem to be lying. He looked honest and it seemed he was telling the truth.

'why did she hastily believe him? or is it because she'd got feelings for him?' she thought to herself

"really?" she asked him with a look of surprise

"don't be surprised, it's the truth" Kol replied facing his food as soon as he was done talking. He didn't want to look into her eyes for long else he might be lost in them and maybe lose control over his desires.

'He wasn't even looking at her intently as she had expected. Or did she do or say something wrong? Or maybe he isn't so used to maintaining eye contact at very close proximity', she thought. She believed him anyway.

"I believe you" she said making him turn his gaze away from the food towards her. He stared deeply into her eyes unable to turn his gaze away for several seconds. She stared at him and all of a sudden she felt so hot under his intense gaze. It was like he was staring deep into her soul. She moved her gaze away from him back to her food to hide her emotions.

She took her wine glass and took a sip then she faced her food and ate silently. Kol immediately came back to his senses as soon as she broke the eye contact. He smiled slightly as he observed her actions, he found it really adorable. 'Was she shy?' he thought

"so, if I may ask, why were you searching for me?"
