------ Mira -----

I took a taxi from Joseph's street to the orphanage with the little money I had. 

I arrived at the orphanage in no time at all, staring at the tall building of the orphanage home. 

I couldn't help,  but recall the first time I was brought there. 

It was not a nice day to be honest,  and I wouldn't say it's a nice experience to go from grace to grass. 

It would have been better if I had never tasted wealth before but well...  I guess this is all written in my destiny. 

As I walked into the building, I heard sounds coming from around me. 

Without even looking I knew who it was, they were none other than some of my mates who hadn't found anyone to adopt them yet. 

Yeah... As orphans we were allowed to be adopted by parents who needed us... But well, no one seems to want to adopt me and the rest. 

And you know, I have to leave the orphanage to fend for myself entirely when I turn eighteen. 

Well, I don't think it'll be that hard though since I already got a job as a waitress in a small restaurant but well... I'll also need a home where I would leave. 

I knew that I could not rely on Joseph... I guess what happened had just shown me that I shouldn't. 

I needed to plan my life out... I really need to. 

I headed straight to my mother's office and there I met her while sitting at her desk. Her reading glasses were placed at the bridge of her nose as she read through some documents. 

From how serious she was with reading, I guess they were adoption documents. 

Which means that another child would be adopted soon.... I could help but wonder who it was. 

It's not my business anyways... I am just curious.

" Good morning, mother... " I greeted her with a bow. 

" Oh... You are here, Good morning to you too, Mira. " She said, looking up and giving me a small smile. 

" It's good that you arrived on time, Breakfast would be served soon so you should head to the dinning hall soon. " She told me. 

" Alright... Mother. " I replied.

" By the way, I hope you are already preparing your mind on how you'll live your life after you turn eighteen, which will be in just three months if I am not wrong. " She said, staring intensely at me through her glasses. 

" You are not wrong, Mother. I have begun the preparations already. " I replied.

" Oh... I was relieved to hear that then.... You can leave now. " She told me. 

" Okay... Mother. " I said with a bow as I walked out of the room. 

I went to my room to drop my sling bag before heading to the dinner hall. 

There, I completely ignored all the voices around me as I devoured the breakfast of rice and stew. 

Though it was a simple breakfast,   I still enjoyed it. 

When I was done, I went back to my room and after shutting the door, I brought my phone out from the cupboard where I usually keep it.

After unlocking it with my fingerprints, I logged into my social media account and checked the group chat. 

There, a heated conversation was going on...

Lisa : I never expected Mira to stoop this low just to take revenge on the student's president.

Yvonne : Well, what can you expect from a girl from the streets?

Gwen : It's still so saddening though... She appears to be an innocent girl so I never expected this from her at all.  

Queen : Haven't heard the quote, Don't judge a book by its cover yet, Gwen? 

Priscilla : Still, I never expected this from Mira... I wonder what Joseph must be thinking right now. 

Irka : Same here, I just hope both he and Vera are okay. 

Juliana : Speaking of, Vera. She wasn't in school today. Is she alright?

Elsa : I don't know... I guess we need to ask her best friend, Emma. Perhaps she might know.

Juliana : I guess that's the only way. 

I sighed a little before scrolling downwards and after minutes of scrolling I finally found it. 

There were pictures which proved that I was the one that posted the intimate pictures of Joseph and Mira online which was against the school rules. 

According to them, I uploaded the pictures from an internet cafe which I was spotted in at the stated time. 

The story was fabricated in a way that only someone who is smart enough would be able to see through it. 

So just like that I had been framed for something I never did. 

And not only did my best friends not trust me, our friendship is also on the verge of breaking.

How saddening.

Still, I won't give up as I still have to find a way out of all of this.

I need to save our friendship and also save Joseph from Vera's evil claws. 

I know I can do it. Fighting!
