After Xu Anyi had signed the contract, the lady took her up a few floors into an empty floor that was designed like a large warehouse. Inside, there were several racks of clothing and fabric piled onto the ground, and Xu Anyi had to watch where she was walking to not step over the clothes.
"Our designer, Anna Li is here today, and she said that you can try on the clothes today so she can adjust it before the show."
Xu Anyi nodded as they walked across many workers until they reached the corner of the room, where there was one lady standing alone, holding several pieces of fabric in her hands.
"Anna," the manager called and the woman turned around.
She was wearing a simple white dress, but it really accentuated her undeniable elegance as she stood there, her neck long and her shoulders pulled back proudly. She seemed about Xu Anyi's age, but she knew that Anna Li was older since she was the famous founder and designer of the brand Anna's.
However, there was no sign of her age on her face or figure as she barely had any wrinkles and the sparkle in her eyes made her seem even more young and radiant.
Anna Li's eyes moved from the manager over to Xu Anyi and she smiled, dropping the fabric and stepping over to shake Xu Anyi's hand, "Hello, Ms. Xu! I'm Anna Li, the designer for Anna's."
Xu Anyi smiled, "Nice to meet you. Please call me Anyi!"
Anna smiled and turned over to look at the manager, signaling that she could leave, "Here. Come with me. I just wanted you to try out a few pieces of the new collection that you will be wearing for the show so I can get your measurements."
Xu Anyi nodded as they walked over to a rack nearby and Anna pulled off a few pieces, "These are the pieces you will be wearing for the show. The changing room is back there, here you go."
Xu Anyi took the hangers from her and walked into the room she pointed to, which was empty and had a rack to hold the clothing.
She closed the door and quickly changed into the first one.
Surprisingly, the dress fit on perfectly, and it was a black and white dress with an alternating color pattern. It looked simple, but under the light, there was a faint sparkle on the fabric of the black color.
This was exactly what Xu Anyi liked about the brand Anna's. All of the pieces always had a special touch to it, making it unique and different from normal clothes.
The dress was sleeveless and it showed off Xu Anyi's beautiful long neck and shoulders. She quickly stepped out after she had finished admiring her own reflection in the mirror and Anna was standing right outside.
She turned around and her eyes lit up when she saw the dress as she muttered, "I knew I didn't pick the wrong person. . ."
Xu Anyi raised an eyebrow, "Hm?"
Anna Li walked around her, lifting the dress up slightly with her hands as she admired it, "I saw your work with Design and I immediately knew I wanted you for this collection. Luckily, one of the models had a schedule conflict so we had an opening."
Xu Anyi's eyes widened in realization. No wonder Anna's had reached out to her! Even though she had worked with Design, she was still a very new model and Anna's was a top-tier luxury brand that usually worked with professional models.
"Does everything fit well?" Anna asked.
"Yes, it fits perfectly."
Anna nodded, her face brightening even more as she called a person's name and a photographer rushed over.
"If you don't mind, can we take a picture of you with the dress on for reference?"
Xu Anyi nodded and the man took a few pictures of her, focusing on the dress. She turned around and posed so the photographer could get every angle, and as Anna watched, her lips curled up as she continued to nod.
Then, Xu Anyi returned to the changing room and tried on every single dress that Anna had given her. There wasn't a lot, so it was quick before she had finished trying all of them on.
There were a few adjustments that needed to be made, but Anna seemed very pleased in the end.
Xu Anyi stepped out, holding all the clothing hangers in one hand as she handed them back to Anna, and she turned around, giving it to one of her assistants, who rushed off with the dresses.
"Thank you so much, Anna. I am so excited for the show," Xu Anyi said with a smile.
Anna was beaming as she grabbed onto Xu Anyi's hands and held them in hers, "I am so excited too! Thank you, Anyi. I am so glad you can be the one to showcase my clothes. It looks perfect on you!"
Xu Anyi could tell that she was genuine with her compliments and she smiled before looking over at the clock on the other side of the room, and her eyes widened when she saw how much time she had spent here already, "I should get going, but I will see you soon."
Anna nodded and waved goodbye to her and Xu Anyi quickly left the building.
—
Xu Anyi quickly went to Xuni's office where she met up with Shen Lili, and the two of them talked for a while before Xu Anyi left and returned home.
It was almost dinnertime already when she arrived home, and when she stepped in, she found that the lights were closed. At this time, Si Mu would usually still be at work, so she wasn't surprised when she didn't find anyone at home when she walked in.
She opened the lights to the dining room and sat down at the table, looking up at the clock.
It was 5:07. . .
She blanked out while staring at the clock, and her mind slowly wandered over to the birthday party tomorrow, Xia Yiwei's birthday party.
It was from 7 to 10 in the evening tomorrow. It had been so long since she had last attended a party that it felt weird to even think about it, but it was even more weird knowing that it was Xia Yiwei's birthday party.
In the past, Xu Anyi could remember that Xia Yiwei rarely had birthday parties, but usually they would be together for her birthday and Xu Anyi always prepared a present and a cake for her.
Xu Anyi couldn't help but scoff at the thought of how stupidly genuine she was in the past. All those years. . . for a piece of trash.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Then, she stood up suddenly and walked into the kitchen, rolling her sleeves up.
She looked around and then walked over to the fridge and pulled the door open.
Yes, she was going to cook tonight!
