I turned to her.

"Are you alright?"

She looks scared.

I silently curse myself na hindi ko sya agad nilapitan.

She rubbed her wrist.

"O...o-kay lang naman! Thanks for rescuing me!"

She tried to stand up but  lasing na sya kaya napasandal sya sa dibdib ko.

"Sorry..."

Hinapit ko sya sa bewang at inayos ang tayo nya.

"Ano ba kasing pumasok sa isip mo Ms. Enriquez at pumunta ka sa lugar na ganito?"

Inis na tanong ko sa kanya.

She looks shocked.

Did she really think I wouldn't recognize her?

"Gusto ko lang naman kasing makalimot..." she looks so sad.

"F*ck! Broken hearted ka ba?"

I can't believe this!

She slowly nodded, not looking at me.

Something seems to be twisting my insides.

Why didn't I know that she had a boyfriend?

Pilit nyang kinalas yung kamay ko sa bewang nya.

She ordered 2 more shots of tequila.

I glared at the bartender.

"Hindi na sya iinom! Ako na magbabayad ng mga ininom nya, just put it on my tab."

"Wait! I'm not yet drunk!"

"That's it! I'm taking you home Ms. Enriquez!"

Nagulat sya ng bigla ko syang buhatin.

Napakapit sya sa batok ko.

Her nose is dangerously close to my neck.

Now is not the time for my body to react this way!

"Put me down Mr. Barton! Kaya ko ang sarili ko!" she protests.

Pero mas lalo kong hinigpitan ang kapit sa bewang nya.

I am not letting her go.

I just said no and continued walking out.

I carefully put her down on the passenger seat and buckled her belt.

Then I climbed on the driver's side.

Hindi ko pa agad pinaandar yung kotse.

I want to ask her something but stopped myself.

I heard her sniff.

"Are you crying Ms. Enriquez?"

I tried to make her look at me.

She shook her head and silently cried.

"F*ck!" ulit-ulit ko sabay hampas sa manibela.

I gripped the wheel.

"Whoever that ba§tard is doesn't deserve you or your tears!"

Inabot ko sa kanya yung panyo ko.

She accepted it and wiped her tears.

I started driving.

Nagulat ako nang humawak sya sa braso ko.

"Ayoko pang umuwi, ayokong makita ako nila mamu ng ganito ako!" pakiusap nya.

I sighed.

"Magchecheck-in na lang muna ako sa malapit na hotel."

I shook my head.

"Shige na pleash...ayoko pang umuwi..." sabay hikbi nya ulit.

I looked at her.

"I won't let you check in to a hotel by yourself in that state baka mapano ka pa."

I won't let anything bad happen to her.

"I'm taking you to my house."

"Bakit sa bahay mo pa pwede naman sa hotel na lang!"

"I'm taking you home and that's final!" I declared, silently hoping she'll agree.

Hindi na rin naman na sya nagsalita.

She closed her eyes.
