Bells ring in a deathly tone around the high-school, hallways would soon get overcrowded with faces unknown to Darren. It was the lunch bell, people were racing to the cafeteria for the item of the week, freshly made cheeseburgers, made from real beef instead of the mystery meat they were all used to and disgusted of. Darren would get the last one, and moved out of the line for others to grab their food. While walking to his table, his walking path would be blocked by the school's high ranking student. A football player, broad shouldered, 6'7 in height, and usually rumored to punch as hard as a 75 pound dumbbell.
"That burger is mine pip-squeak, hand it over" the football player would demand menacingly, dumbfounded, Darren would step back with his eyebrows raised questioningly at the towering male in front of him. "You mean this burger?" Darren would question, snapping back at the player "It would ruin your body's build you worked so hard for!" Darren would add sass to his tone to stun the player "So what if it ruins my muscles a little, I can work it off dumb-ass" the player would raise his voice, soon everyone would be staring at them both, begging for a fight to start. Fight, fight, fight, the whole cafeteria would be chanting the player and Daren on to fight.
Having little to no interest in fighting, Darren would throw his lunch into the trash can next to him, stunning the player and the whole cafeteria…everyone went quiet. A fist would come flying into Darren's face, flying backwards while trying to regain his sense of balance, but falling flat on his ass. Looking up at the football player, he would feel a burning rage inside him, being disrupted by the school's security guard detaining the player to the ground. Darren would be pulled up by his arm, turning around to face Mrs. taffy "Darren, your coming to the office and we're calling your parents" Mrs. Taffy would sound serious yet calm in tone.
In the office, Mrs. Taffy would be on the phone with Darren's mother, the phone looking old and antique to him. Looking around the office he would find a few interesting things to look at, a ship in a bottle, a globe holding white sand with shells of different sizes, and a few different books full of rules, notes, papers, and others. "Darren, I told your mother about what happened in the cafeteria" Mrs. Taffy would say looking to him, while placing the phone back down, he would snap back to reality "What did she has to say?" Darren would ask Mrs. Taffy.
"She said that she will be talking to you when you get home later" Mr.s Taffy would answer back to his question, "But first, go get that nose patched up in the nurses office" She would sound concerned. Without a thought, Darren would pull his hand to his nose pulling it back to his view, and find his fingers covered in blood, it was serious, he wouldn't feel anything due to the adrenaline from earlier. "Thank you, I'll head to the nurse to get this cleaned up, sorry for making a mess on your chair Mrs. Taffy!" Darren would apologize for the small blood stain puddle that as dripping occasionally.
Heading to the nurses office while having his nose covered by his hand, would walk in. "What can I do for you- Oh my good lord!" The nurse would rush to get gauze, a bandage and a towel after noticing the blood gushing heavily from Darren's nose. "Sit down right here" She'd pat the end of the tan bed, motioning Darren to sit while she attended to the uncontrolled blood rush from his nose. Minutes later he would be patched up, no longer bleeding "Thank you Ms. Alix" Darren would sound like he plugged his nose.
