Chapter Fifteen - The Tower

Three Weeks Later

I haven't really had time to utilise my Ghoulish Energy, so I should take a small break from soloing S-Rank Dungeons and learn how to cultivate.

Now how do I figure out how to grow my Ghoulish Energy? I tried meditation but it failed. I guess it's not like a mana core. Maybe it's exercise.

*I started performing the workout routine that Hentri taught me. Since my body is kept at peak condition because of my endless raids against the Dungeons and use of my Sword Star Movement, but exercising directly may help. I start performing push-ups and I can feel a rise in Ghoulish Energy*

It's working! Now, only 4900 more.

30 minutes have passed and I can already sense a massive increase of Ghoulish Energy in me, I feel… Powerful. W-wait. 

Now that I notice I do get a bit cocky and arrogant everytime I'm in touch with my Ghoulish Energy, just like a ghoul. If I keep using it, will I act like a ghoul more and more? Guess I'll see.

Anyways, this training facility I had built in this new mansion is really convenient! I really love the forge that I had made also. 

I really need to make some armour though. I need to look flashy and powerful to the crowd, not come in and out of a S-Rank Dungeon in a hoodie and sweatpants.

*I enter the forgery, and change into the appropriate clothing*

It needs to be something that'll look like my sword. A long thin grey blade that cut anything in its path. Thankfully, I put the rest of the materials I had back in the forgery in my inventory when I was training with those three. 

I have the same material I used to make my sword, Moonlight. It's called Luminary Ore and it's known for its great strength, endurance, ability to hold Mana and extreme weightlessness, it's a grey and shiny ore.

This'll be great for my armour but I'll need to mix it with another armour to make it even more impenetrable and I have just the thing. Aggren Ore, One of the most strongest and durable ore to ever exist. 

This ore is many times stronger than a diamond. The only downside is its extreme density and its lack of mana storage, but if I mix it with the Luminary Ore it'll be even less heavy and it can hold mana too.

The ore is black and dull looking.

*I take the two out of my inventory and start making an alloy using a combination of 70% Luminary Ore and 30% Aggren Ore.*

3 Hours Later

I-Im done! It's complete, the full armour. It is a black and grey metallic and shiny full set of armour with 3 gold phoenix designs in the middle. I always saw 3 gold phoenix signs on top of the mansion I used to train at.

When I asked Miyazaki about it he always said,

*Flashback*

Miyazaki: The Phoenix is the perfect animal to describe all three of us. Freedom, justice and relentlessness.

*Back to the present*

They taught me everything I know and I would be much weaker without their help. So I'll use their teachings to help the innocent and defeat the evil in their honour!

*I put on the armour*

It fits perfectly! I can't wait to try this out.

2 Weeks Later

*I'm in my training facility when all of a sudden I hear a ring* 

*Ring*

*I pick up my phone*

Sophie: It's time kid, 2:00 pm, I'll pick you up.

Madaren: So vague.

*I look at the time, 1:59 pm*

Wait wha-

*Suddenly I start falling through the ground*

Oh COME ON… *I land on my feet*

Sophie: Welcome kid, To The Tower's entrance.

[THE TOWER]

H/W:

REACHES INTO THE MESOSPHERE

WIDEST BUILDING ON EARTH

APPEARANCE:

SILVER AND SHINY SKYSCRAPER LIKE BUILDING.

INSIDE ARE 100 FLOORS WHICH LEAD INTO DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS. EACH FLOOR IS LOCKED UNTIL PREVIOUS FLOOR IS BEATEN.

SUMMARY:

ON 2023 A MYSTERIOUS MYTHICAL TOWER WAS PLACED IN WASHINGTON DC BY A UNKNOWN ENTITY. ALONG WITH IT, HUMANS WERE GIVEN MANA THAT COULD BE CONTROL THROUGH A GAME-LIKE SYSTEM CALLED MANA SYSTEM.

I look up and see a gigantic silver tower.*

Madaren: It's so mythical looking!

Sophie: It even protrudes into space and is the widest and tallest building on earth, such a beautiful but chaotic thing. It's also surrounded by the world's biggest IMA Embassy so you can trade, sell, and buy any items from the tower.

*Sophie looks at madaren* I see your wearing armour today

Madaren: I don't really even need it, it's just for appearance.

Sophie: It looks really high quality though, who made it?

Madaren: I did.

Sophie: … Of course you did. Anyways I called some people and we are going to attempt to clear the 30th today.

Madaren: Didn't you just clear the 29th floor a month and a half ago?

Sophie: The first 3 floors of the tower are just the tutorial and usually take only a few months to beat.

Madaren: Oh then.

*I hear footsteps behind me and I look to see who it is*

Savion: Hey son.

*I immediately start stuttering*

Madaren: S-S-Savion!! What are you doing here!

Savion: Just here to speed things along, and to see you fight. OH! And i brought some IMA Hunter's with me

*I look behind him and see about 50 A-Ranks and 5 S-Ranks*

I need to act tougher, I am the same rank as him.

Madaren: Well you won't be disappointed.

Savion: *Laughs widely* Nice! I like your energy kid.

Sophie: Enough of that let's hurry in.

Savion: Sophie! Still uptight I see.

Sophie: *Rolls her eyes*

Victor: Hey! don't forget about us.

*We look back to see Victor Vincent and 30 A-Ranks and 5 S-Rank Hunters behind him.*

Sophie: You're late.

Victor: Only by 5 minutes, Calm down sweetheart 

Savion: Victor! An old friend.

Victor: Savion, I see you're still huge and powerful. And Madaren.

Madaren: Yes?

Victor: I can't wait to see you fight.

*I roll my eyes* They all say that.

20 minutes later

We are at the portal that leads to the 30th floor.

Victor: Ready to kick some ass Hunters!

Hunters: YES SIR!

Sophie: I forgot to tell you Madaren, Every ten floors has a theme, this theme is Hell.

Madaren: Of course it is.

Savion: LET'S GO.

*We entered through the portal and arrived at what seemed like an enormous burned castle. I looked outside the windows and saw lakes of fire and lava with a red brick landscape.*

Sophie: This is the last stage of the floor, we have to defeat the Hell Royals.

Madaren: Of course we have to.

*I see a burned demon on a throne with a crown on his head, that must be the king. Suddenly the floor starts rumbling*

Savion: Hold on son.

*Suddenly hundreds of demons come in through the ground, a Demon starts talking*

Arcan: YOU WILL NEVER LAY ON HAND ON FATHER, I, SON OF KING ARTHEIL, WILL SLAY YOU DOWN FROM WHERE YOU STAND, CHARGE!

[LEVEL 650 PRINCE ARCAN]

[LEVEL 250 DEMONS OF THE 8TH HELL]

Victor & Savion: Charge!!

*The Gold Griffins and the IMA Hunters start rushing in to attack the demons*

Each demon seems to be A-Rank, But the Prince seems to be at least SS-Rank, Me and Savion are the only ones who can take it head on. Right now while the prince is busy commanding I need to kill these Demons.

Madaren: 4th Star! 1st Movement! [Lightning After The Thunder!]

*In a fraction of a second I blazed through and decapitated 50 demons leaving behind a trail of lightning, after, a loud thunder sound could be heard*

Savion: *Thinking* Impressive! I was probably the only one who could see his movements, and his

Swordsmanship is one of a kind. What a guy huh!

*Savion swings his sword at the demons and just by the shockwaves he decimates the area having killed 50 demons in one swing*

Sophie: [SPACE-TIME BEND] *Sophie slows down the 30 demon's* Sorcerers! NOW! 

*The Sorcerers shoot water and ice magic, which the demons are very weak too, causing them to die*

Victor: What a nasty lot eh. [LIGHTNING COVER]

*Victor puts his hand on the sword and covers it with lightning*

*Victor looks at madaren and yells out*

Victor: Hey kid!

*Madaren looks at Victor confused*

Madaren: ?

Victor: You're not the only one with a sword lightning affinity.

*Victor then launches to the air and throws lightning bolts against the Demons with his sword, killing a good amount. Madaren smiles*

Madaren: Cocky as always.

I think that's all of them, now it's time for the Boss.

Arcan: *LAUGHES*

*Me and savion look at eachother and nod, knowing that we are the only ones who can fight against it*

Arcan: DON'T THINK IT'S OVER YET.

Savion: Hey you!

Arcan: ?

Savion: Give me a second here I'm just writing something down.

*Savion pulls out a notebook out of his inventory and starts writing*

Arcan: W-WHAT!

Savion: Okay, I'm done. Sorry my bad, I was just writing down a grocery list, I'm really craving Italian so I think I'll make a pizza.

*Everybody looks at savion dumbfounded*

Wow! He's so cool, he's keeping his calm with an enemy who's even the same rank as him.

Sophie: Pfft- *Loud Laughing*

Hunters: *Laughing*

Victor: Heh, There he goes again.

Arcan: SHUT UP!! [TOTAL POSSESSION]

*A glowing purple mist grabs everybody in the vicinity and starts crushing them*

Sophie: ARGH!

Savion: I don't think so.

*Suddenly everybody is freed and healed*

Arcan: W-WHAT DID YOU DO

Savion: Stop talking please.

*Savion raises his sword and points it at the Prince, Than a light blue concentrated beam of mana so bright it blinds everybody but me comes out and hits the Prince, causing an gigantic explosion making sophie create a forcefield to protect everyone*

*The dust settles and prince has lost an arm*

Arcan: AGHH! AHH. HOW DARE YOU

Savion: I would've made it clean and quick if you just fought me head on but you had to make it harder for yourself.

I thought I was gonna have to step in but, he's definitely got this.

Arcan: I'LL GIVE YOU MY BIGGEST ATTACK IN RETURN. [DIMENSIONAL BRE-]

Savion: no you won't.

*Savion seemingly teleports right behind the Prince and beheads him, killing him*

*Savion raises his sword to the roof and yells*

Savion: WE'VE WON.

Hunters: YEAHHH!! *Intense Cheering*

Sophie: He's terrifying as always.

Victor: You can say that again.

He didn't even need my help. And he killed that SS-Rank Monster so easily. He's even better than I remember.

Artheil: my son.

*Savion looks back and gets thrown across in the castle*

What! Who's strong enough to throw Savion across a room?

*The hunters look at the burned king in pure terror*

Hunter: H-he's alive?

Sophie: And we killed his son.

*The king kneels down to his son's body*

Artheil: They did this to you? 

*The king looks at the Hunters and most of the hunters nearly fall down on there knees just at his gase*

Artheil: YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS WITH YOUR LIFE!

*The sound waves from his voice emits hopelessness into the Gold Griffins and the IMA Hunters, making them fall to their knees*

Sophie: Get Up!

Victor: What are you doing Hunters!

Hunter: We can't.

Victor: WHY!

Hunter: He nearly killed Savion with a swipe of his finger, Do you think we can do anything?

Victor: SO YOU'LL JUST DIE SCARED AND BEGGING FOR YOUR LIFE? You didn't become a S-Rank just to die begging on your knees, YOU BECAME STRONG AND POWERFUL TO CRUSH MONSTERS AND FOE SO THE WEAK WON'T HAVE TO.

Savion: He's right.

*The hunters turn their heads to the castle's wall*

Savion: *Chuckles* It's gonna take way more to kill me. 

Hunters: Y-Your right Victor! *The Hunters get up on their knees and take a battle stance* I didn't work hard just to die a shameful death.

Sophie: You won't die.

Hunter: Huh?

Sophie: We'll make sure of it.

Artheil: ENOUGH TALKING!

*He releases his black aura*

[LEVEL 800 KING ARTHEIL]

Artheil: THE ONLY TYPE OF TALKING I WANT TO HEAR IS YOUR BEGGING.

Madaren: It's our time to shine now Savion

Savion: It's time for the Unstoppable Duo! HEY YOU!

*Savion points at a random Sorcerer*

Sorcerer: y-Yes?

Savion: Take my phone and record this please *Savion smiles wide*

Sorcerer: Um. Okay.

Madaren: God you can't stop goofing for one second?

Savion: Nevermind that. You ready?

Madaren: Always.

*Me and Savion rush the King*

Madaren: [CRESCENT SLAYTON]

Savion: [QUADRA SLICE]

*My Moon magic and his Ice magic combine to form*

Madaren & Savion: [CRESCENT FROSTBITE]

*Four large blue crescent-shaped Mana Slices spanning 20 feet hits the King right on his chest*

Artheil: IS THAT IT?

*There is only a light cut on his chest, Me and savion try to back away but the king charges towards us and punches us with both of his fists, sending us back all the way out of the castle into the lava lake*

Savion: Agh! Well, that didn't work. By the way, does this lava hurt you in any way?

Madaren: just a bit warm.

Savion: Pretty nice, I could probably chill here for a vacation-

Artheil: [MOUNTAIN OF DESPAIR]

*A mountain of Demonic energy that is as tall as a skyscraper approaches us*

Savion: Oh shit.

Madaren: Took the words right out of my mouth.

[ANGEL WINGS]

*A cloud of wings forms on my back and I grab Savion by his armour's nape and fly out of the way, The Demonic energy hits the lava and makes its way towards us.*

Savion: This is pretty embarrassing.

Madaren: Would you rather I let the Demonic energy hit you?

Savion: Probably.

Madaren: Ugh.

*We are now flying through hell trying to escape the Demonic energy, One taste of it could purge our mana veins and render us immobilised. I look back and see the king flying towards us*

He's getting closer, I need to think of something. I need to get rid of that energy following us. I need an air spell.

Madaren: I have a plan, Savion.

Savion: Does it include throwing me at the monster?

Madaren: Yup.

Savion: Damn.

Madaren: I'm gonna blow the energy away with an air spell and you'll be right behind it. When the demonic energy is pushed back I want you to use a stabbing skill directly in his lower belly and pour as much mana as you can.

Savion: Why would I put mana in his mana core-

Madaren: Now! [ANGELIC BLAST]

*A large air blast comes out of my hand and pushes the  Demonic energy away, while that is happening I throw savion right behind my spell*

Madaren: I BELIEVE IN YOU.

Savion: GOD DAMN IT! *Savion thinking* I see him! I need to use that stabbing skill. [INTRUDE OF JUSTICE]

*Savion stabs into the lower belly of the king creating a massive shockwave from his strength, shaking the king's organs and rendering him immobilised temporarily*

Artheil: H-How!?

Savion: Sorry for killing your son!

Artheil: ARGHHHH! YOU-

*Savion injects all of his mana into his mana core*

Artheil: AGHHHHHH!

*The king explodes because of the excessive mana*

Savion: W-We did it.

*The Demonic energy dissipates, Savion falls down*

Madaren: Oh no you don't

*Madaren flies towards savion and picks him up*

Madaren: You pulled it off!

Savion: We did kid.

*Madaren couldn't laughing, Savion laughs too*

10 Minutes Later

Savion: How's everybody?

Sophie: No casualties!

Savion: That's great!

Madaren: Nice.

Sorcerer: I'm sorry Archhunter Savion. You went outside of the castle so I couldn't record. *She hands the phone to savion, Savion checks the footage and sees him and Madaren getting beat up*

Savion: U-Uh you know what it's totally fine.

Victor: *Laughs*

Savion: What's so funny.

Victor: I saw the video.

Madaren: What video- oh. WHY DID YOU TELL HER TO RECORD!

Savion: Oh brother.
