"Miss, I can't lose this job," Mei Mei began to cry, "This is already the third job we've found. If we get fired again, for sure no one will want to hire us."
Tan Rou asked curiously, "Then why were you dismissed the previous two times?"
Mei Mei explained, "The first time we weren't really dismissed, we left voluntarily because the people there had terrible tempers and treated us like slaves, with no respect at all. The second time wasn't our fault either; the male head of that household was constantly harassing us, and when his wife found out, she fired us."
Tan Rou was no saint; she didn't want her sympathy to overflow, and for maids who had made serious mistakes, she wouldn't be lenient. However, since the maids weren't hired by her, she would have to make a trip to Mother Tao to have them dismissed.
"This isn't my issue," Tan Rou said, "Being fired twice already shows that you aren't suited for this job. You'd better hurry up and find another job."
