Chapter 1: The new assistant

Andy had a hard time choosing. Several girls, several names, he didn't even want to do anything of that. The wound hasn't patched up. Why did she leave? Well, good question, but without a proper answer than blame her or blame himself, he was stuck amid the work of choosing another assistant and the pain of remembering her last girlfriend, which, oh irony, was his last assistant too.

"Tiffany Huang", was the name of the next girl, in the next curriculum. Graduated from an Art School, passionate or so she described herself. Sorry, very passionate. And, of course, another fan of "Ms. Sunshine", every girl in the line was a fan either of his work or him. His mind was straying away, again. The deadline days were coming as fast as they could and Andy was not even starting the job, let alone choosing a new assistant. He was making some progress, though. He stopped from called her on occasion. That was something, at least. He had even deleted her number, which, of course, was the hardest thing that he made. Two seconds after that he was regretting that decision.

"Tiffany Huang", he echoed the name. The girl in the photo was pretty, the dark, silken hair falling on the shoulders, she was smiling, as cute as she can, he thought. An Art School graduate student. He was ready to work alone, but with the deadline so close to him, he hadn't any choice. He needed a new assistant, whether he liked it or not. He called up the number on the curriculum. After two beep sounds, someone answered. It was a little girl, for the sound of the voice, like a squeaky sound.

"Hello", she greeted him, as one who greeted an acquaintance.

Andy wasn't getting used to talking with little children, so he talk to her as if he was talking to an adult.

"Good morning, there is Ms. Huang over there?"

"My mom's friend it's not here, why do you call up with us?"

"I..." he started saying until another voice cut off his conversation with the girl.

"Chu Hua, what are you doing?" it was a woman's voice this time, not squeaky, but feminine for sure. It was calm at first, then the girl on the other side of the line dropped off something on the floor, the footsteps came faster after that.

"There's a man on the phone" the little girl labeled Chu Hua said. Someone took the phone and spoke, shivering.

"Hello?"

"Ms. Tiffany Huang?"

"Yeah, she's talking"

"I'm…"

"I love "Ms.Sunshine"" she said, without hesitation in her voice.

"Yeah, I read your curriculum, Ms. Huang" Andy said with a smile tracing his lips, "I like your passion for the project, so you can come to meet me? We have things to discuss, the fast as you can, please."

Now he had a new assistant, he needed to meet her in the flesh so he'd start to draw the new chapter of "Ms. Sunshine".

Tiffany was awed, she made it. She made it! She can't believe it, Andy calling her up to tell her that she was going, probably, to work with him in her favorite web comic of all time, well, her favorite web comic of all time until she discovered another that she liked.

Chu Hua was getting a sight of Tiffany, wondering who that man was and why Tiffany was looking so happy all of a sudden.

"That man was your boyfriend?"

Tiffany noticed the little girl then, her cheeks were redder than the apple that the girl was eating.

"What? No, actually, he was my new boss, probably".

"The man that you're always talking about?"

"Exactly, wait, I'm not talking about him all the time…were I?"

Chu Hua shrugged. Tiffany went to her room, he had said as fast as she could. Chu Hua echoed her to Tiffany's room. Meanwhile, Tiffany was making a mess of her room, which usually was very clean and tied up.

"What are you doing?"

"I don't know what to use"

"All of your clothes are very pretty, though"

"Yeah, but I need to make a good impression on him. The first impression is always that counts, Chu Hua, always".

"My first impression of the boy that I like was not very attractive, but I still like him anyway"

"You're gonna understand what I'm talking about when you'd grew up" Tiffany said, trying to decide between two dresses.

"Mom and dad said the same the other day" Chu Hua said, walking on by the room, and watching Tiffany's sketches.

"Do you like it?" Tiffany said, at least deciding on the black shirtdress with white stripes.

"Are you gonna make your own web comic too?"

"Someday," Tiffany said, without hesitation in her voice.
