Chapter 18: The True VIP

He said it again.

Avery's ears turned red after hearing him calling her 'wife' again.

This was actually the second time he called her that in front of other people. The first time happened when she was unconscious at the hospital, helping her sign her paper and pay for her hospital bills with the identity of her 'husband'.

But after she found out about it, she told him not to call her 'wife' again since they weren't married.

A week hasn't even passed since that event happened, but here he was, pretending to be her husband again!

Avery glanced up at him, frowning slightly.

Was it really alright to lie to other people without having a guilty conscience?

And he did that right in front of her!

Does he have no shame at all?

Aidan clearly didn't know what she was thinking as he continued to play the 'husband' role.

He stepped forward, closing in the distance between him and the middle-aged lady, who was too stunned to react after his statement.

Unconsciously, the middle-aged woman stepped aside to make way for him. Not that she was being considerate and understanding to him after finding out his relationship with the young woman; it was because this young man was too overwhelming and scary!

The receptionist swallowed loudly when he got close. She averted her eyes quickly, fearing that the man would tell her to look for the hotel manager and have her fired.

Aidan looked at the display of rooms that guests of the hotel could book. From top to the bottom, the list was indeed not cheap.

Well, it wasn't unreasonable either. The room rates to stay in for the night were acceptable because the hotel was a five-star hotel in the city and funded by different wealthy families and the city mayor.

Looking from the bottom, the cheapest room was the single-bed room, and the cost to stay in it for a night was at one thousand and sixty dollars. As for the Galaxy penthouse suite, which was placed at the very top of the room selection, only VIP guests could reserve it and priced at twenty-six thousand dollars for a night.

"Aidan, I think we should look at another hotel. The rooms here are already taken." Avery told him since he wasn't here when the middle-aged lady paid for the remaining two single rooms.

"Let's go," she told him, pulling on his sleeve.

"Just wait..." Aidan said, turning his arm slightly to hold on to her hand.

After a few seconds, he raised his head and turned to Avery, while saying, "Do you like stars?"

What question is this?

Avery was not sure why he was asking her this, but she still nodded her head.

She enjoyed looking at the stars during the night. Watching them twinkle calms her and drawing shapes using their patterns was a great pastime for her.

While she was in a daze, reminiscing a memory so distant she almost forgot, Aidan spoke to the receptionist, "We'll take the Galaxy Presidential Suite."

"A—Are you sure, sir?" The receptionist frowned. She continued, "Only guests who have a VIP pass card can reserve the room, sir."

Naturally, Aidan already knew this.

"I know."

"Hmph! Stop bluffing, young man," suddenly, the middle-aged lady interrupted him. "Only the people recognized by the city mayor can get the VIP card. I even heard from my husband that the wealthy family who founded the creation of this hotel only possess 1 card. I don't even recognize you, so you're definitely not from this city and can't possibly have a VIP—"

Before the middle-aged lady could finish her words, Aidan had already produced a red card with a metal sheen. It was a unique-looking card that the receptionist and even the middle-aged lady could recognize!

I—isn't that the VIP pass card?!

How did this young man get one?!

The two women couldn't believe it. The VIP card might sound like one could easily own it by spending a large sum of money. However, only a few selected elite people could really own it!

And in order to not abuse the benefits the card possessed, the city mayor precisely gave each family who had invested in creating that hotel one card and they could avail the Galaxy Penthouse Suite only once in a month.

"Is this the card you're looking for?" The young man before them carelessly held the blood-red card in his hand, as if it was not worthy to be held by him at all.

His tone even sounded uncertain, as if he was waiting for them to confirm it was the right card they were looking for.

Instantly, the receptionist straightened her back and heavily nodded. "Yes, sir! That is exactly the VIP card. Please, wait for a moment while I reserve the room for you!"

To think that she would actually meet someone who could possess the red card.

Glee filled the receptionist. Her points will surely add to her salary for as long as she serve him well!

At that moment, Avery, whose hand was being held, also could tell that the card in Aidan's hand was extremely important.

The receptionist and the middle-aged lady change in attitude and shocked faces, hinted at her that Aidan's identity was not simple at all.

Who is he, really?

Although she was curious; she didn't want to ask him directly. It was better that she know less about him.

With her thoughts hidden, she tried to pry the hand that held hers while Aidan didn't have his attention on her.

But, as if his hand was a snake, the more she tried to move his fingers, the tighter it held onto her hand.

Avery looked up at him, but saw that he wasn't even looking at her.

She tried to make him let her go of her hand, but she finally heard him say, "Behave."
