Scroll Pavilion

*Piron*

[You received a new mission. Do you wish to see it now?]

'Yes.' Answered Guihu Luixing in his mind.

[Mission N.6: Six Senses Method

Breakthroughs are a topic that is widely researched by cultivators. The one you'll be facing soon is one of the most researched, specially by humans. The first step is often the most important, and sometimes the most dangerous. Among all breakthrough methods, the Six Senses Method is the most dengerous, but also the most rewarding. Use the Six Senses Method to breakthrough to the Qi Interaction Realm.

Reward: Deep Qi Immersion Manual

Penalty:None

Time limit: One month.]

Another no-penalty mission. And it seems quite dangerous as well.

"Young Master? Is there any problem?"

Guihu Luixing's thoughts were interrupted by Niko's question. He hadn't moved and was staring at the empty space for some time now.

"Oh, nothing, teacher Niko. I was just lost in thought. I'll be going now." He said before making his way to the Scroll Pavillion, taking the still sleeping Dark Moon with him.

The Scroll Pavillion was a creepy sight for normal people. It looked like an eerily well maintained mansion on a haunted woods. There were patrolling zombies and ghosts everywhere. The trees and the plants were also very creepy.

However, being born and raised in the Ghost Fox Valley Sect, to Guihu Luixing, this sight had only one meaning in his mind. A safe, high security place.

Guihu Luixing quickly made his way inside. There, he met an old Ghost Fox, who was apparently waiting for him.

"Ahhh, Young Master. I've been expecting you." She said "Hector said you would be coming. Quite the energetic fellow, that one."

She was Swift Mist, the Ghost Fox in charge of managing the Scroll Pavillion. Even though she talked like a gentle grandma, everyone knew she was one of the strongest Ghost Foxes in the sect.

"Elder Swift Mist, I came to take a look at the Qi Interaction Realm breakthrough methods. Can you tell me where I can find them?" he said while handing her the token he recieved from Niko.

She took the token "Of course, sweetie."

With a flick of her tail, she summoned a ghost, then instructed it.

"Guide the young master to the section 3-19. Allow him to take a single scroll from that section, them scort him back here."

The blurry ghost nodded, the it went to Guihu Luixing's side.

"Cooomeee." It said with a creepy voice.

It then guided Guihu Luixing to a corner of the ground floor. Hector Schmitt was already there, together with another ghost. It seemed he was having a hard time deciding which method to pick.

"Having trouble deciding, Brother Schmitt?" Asked Guihu Luixing.

"Ahhh, Brother Guihu. You finally arrived. Yes, I don't know which to pick. They all have advantages and disadvantages. Which one would be better for me?" Hector answered.

"Let me see them as well. If you still can't decide after I'm done, I can recommend one for you."

"Okay." Hector agreed with a nod.

The section that had the breakthroughs to the Qi Interaction Realm consisted of a single, huge bookshelf. It had five shelves and each shelve had many scrolls.

The shelves divide the scrolls by grade. The lower shelves had the lowest grade scrolls, they were the least risky methods but didn't give many benefits. The higher shelves had the higher graded methods, they were riskier, but had many benefits.

Guihu Luixing just quickly passed his eyes through the lower grade methods. Even without the mission, he wouldn't choose them.

Among the higher grade methods, Guihu Luixing found some that were quite good. Some of them he thought quite fitting for Hector. But even then, these methos had adverse effects that could hamper his progress in the future.

On the top shelf, there was only five scrolls. They were: Ghost Fox Qi Interaction Breakthrough method, Cadaver Refining Method, Ghost Manifestation Method, Puppet Qi Connection Method and Six Senses Method.

The Cadaver Refining Method was a method to create a Qi Interaction Realm zombie. Zombies needed to use Qi in order to function, so obviously, Qi Interaction Realm was the minimal realm for a zombie.

The Ghost Manifestation Method was the method used to transform mortal's souls into ghosts. Souls normally couldn't exist for long outside a body, so they required Qi, like the zombies.

The Puppet Construction Method was a method to connect one's Qi to a puppet, increasing the speed and power the puppet had. Puppets were rarer nowadays in the sect and there were sects specialising in puppetry, so it's no wonder why it was quite dusty.

Ghost Fox Qi Interaction Breakthrough was, as the name says, the breakthrough method Ghost Fox pups used to enter the Qi Interaction Realm. Dark Moon could have used this method, had she not naturally born beyond this step.

The scroll for Six Senses Method also had quite some dust on it, showing no one touched it in at least months.

Guihu Luixing picked up the scroll and started reading it.

[Six Senses Method

The most ancient method of breakthrough, with the highest grade of mortality. Do not attempt unless you are already at the peak state of the Body Enhancing Realm, with perfect fitness.

It is highly recommend for you to have a protector of at least Qi Interaction Realm if you are using this method.]

The introduction made very clear how dangerous this method was. Usually, during a breakthrough was the moment a cultivator was the most vulnerable. They usually isolated themselves in a safe place, away from prying eyes and interferences. But even so, the method highly recommend a protector. The warning was clear.

Guihu Luixing continued reading.

[Breakthrough method:

Prepare a small a small amount of low-grade Qi Stones. Assume the lotus position and swallow a single Qi Stone. If the breakthrough doesn't happens within an hour, swallow another up to ten times. If you still fail, do not repeat this method for at least a month.

The adverse effects of a mortal directly consuming a Qi Stone are varied and often lead to death. You will feel anything amiss, making it even more dangerous. It's up to the protector to sense your state and stop you in case you show signs of danger.

A person who successfully broke through using this method will have a more stable cultivation on the Qi Interaction Realm and an easier time interacting with Qi of any element. No negative effects.]

Guihu Luixing was startled after reading this. Everyone knew mortals consuming Qi Stone was simply suicide. Was the system asking him to die? Also wasn't the description a little too vague? Was this purposefully made in order to disencourage disciples from picking this method?

And if he failed on the first try, he would have to wait a month until he could try again. This would automatically make him fail the mission he recieved. Although it had no penalty, he felt like it was the same case as the other mission, that said that if he failed, there was no need to punish him, as he would die anyway.

He was starting to develop a fear of no punishment missions.

"Have you decided, Brother Guihu?"

Asked Hector seeing that Guihu Luixing wasn't putting the scroll back.

"Yes, I will take this one. Is a bit dangerous, but the benefits outweighs the danger." Guihu Luixing answered.

"Then can you help me decide? I'm deciding between these two."

Hello everyone.

I'm feeling much better.

I slept a lot and because of that today's chapter came out late, Im sorry.

When I am sick, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, still in a half-dreaming state. In this state I tend to have weird delusions involving things I had done during the previous day.

Guess what, I fell in that state last night. I imagined a situation that things got extremely chaotic for our hero and his surroundings. I think I'll implement it in the future.
