Amelia Cobb was not really sure what Madeline Carter meant, she had no interest in premeditated talk or any ongoing narration.
In her relationship with Christopher Robinson, she was the one being passively attacked.
Upon hearing Amelia's words, a flash of surprise crossed Madeline's face.
But that surprise quickly dissipated.
"I mean no harm."
"I know," Amelia nodded faintly, her eyes drifting away from Madeline's.
Madeline exchanged a glance with the butler, a look of surprise sprung up in their eyes.
"No matter why Madam Robinson invited me over – to build rapport or to test something, personally, I feel it's unnecessary. If the aim is to build rapport, my marriage with Mr. Robinson is a transaction, not a relationship. If it's to test something, I hold no position beside Mr. Robinson, there is nothing to test."
Amelia clearly stated her stance.
Without any deflection.
