Chapter 24 - A Letter for Emily

The train starts to explode room by room but Junior still hasn't uncuffed his mother yet, others tries to find a way out. Sam didn't locked the door to the 6th room, they all decided to climb to the roof. In exact time, Hugh and his choppers arrived.

"It's Uncle Hugh! Climb to the roof!" said Junior while breaking the chair where Emily is handcuffed.

"Leave this to us Willie, get Ellie and Jerry." said William trying to break the chair.

"But it's locked!"

"Vent to the roofs...Wait! Help Mom and Dad climb to the roof first so that Hugh can pull them up."

"Mom, Dad let's go the roof! Hugh is waiting with his chopper." said Willie while leading his parents up.

Lucius and Lucas helped William and Junior to break the chair where Emily is cuffed. Zelbert and Gerald is already in the roof to asisst Grandma and Grandpa.

Sam's men is about to cut the connection of the 2nd room to the rest of the rooms when they found out that the train loose its brake.

"Fuck! They destroyed the brakes!" Sam shouted in rage. "Don't cut it!."

But it was too late for them, it was already cut but it wasn't completely separated yet because of the speed, Sam sent all his men to the 6th room to stop the spreading of fire, Jim, Ellie and Jerry was freed and ran to their fathers. Mr. Collins was awaken and helped Sam to figure out how to fix the brakes.

Grandma Wilma and Grandpa Eddie is already at the roof and was ready to be pulled, Hugh has only 2 choppers from Glasgow and it only can fit up to 5 persons per chopper. Grandma and Grandpa was successfully lifted up, then Ellie and Jerry followed.

The 6th room was exploded along with some of Sam's men, the fire is entering the 5th room, since it was spilled with gas, the fire quickly spreaded around the room, they start to panic and break the glass through the 4th room. And finally, they broke the chair where Emily was cuffed but she was still handcuffed, Eliza is already weak and needed to be assisted by Junior.

Willie and William successfully breaks the door to 4th room, there, the two of them climbed to the roof to see what's going on up there. Ellie and Jerry is being pulled up already, Jim, Billy, Gerald and Zelbert went down because of the tunnel ahead.

"Get back inside! There's a tunnel ahead!" shouted Grandpa Eddie from the chopper.

The remaining Sam's men who is only 3 blocked the way to the 4th room, they aimed they're gun so that they can't pass through.

"There's a tunnel ahead, once we get inside, we try to steal their guns, there are only three of them left." said Willie.

"Jim, you go inside first, stay behind them, once we enter the tunnel, push or kick them okay? You have the advantage, be careful." William commanded Jim and went to 4th room with no hussle.

The fire became bigger and closer to them. Eliza became weaker and weaker.

"Dad, Eliza can't hold it any longer, she hasn't drink her maitainance." said Junior while carrying Eliza.

"It's okay William, I can still hold it till night.."

Lucius still avoids Emily's eyes and unfocused

"Let us pass through!" Willie shouted at Sam's men. "We have sick a woman here!" he added.

"Then let her die first!" Irina shouted at the back of Jim.

"Irina! Please! It's not to late, we can still settle it!" said William.

"Oh shut up William!" Irina was annoyed and pull out her pistol and aimed it to her husband.

Exactly the train entered the tunnel and everything went dark, only the fire that gives them light. Willie and William dashed to the men then Zelbert, Junior and Gerald followed, Jim was trying to stop Irina from firing.

They wrestled the the three men and there was a one shot that occurs, and they have no idea if it hits someone because they are still at the tunnel. Sam heard the gunshot and went directly to the 4th room.

Emily screamed as she heard the gunshot, she had no choice but to run towards the 4th room with Eliza and Lucius because the fire is already near to them. Lucius saw Jim trying to steal his mom's pistol so he went to help him, Billy is about to follow Lucius to help Jim but Emily stopped him.

"Jim don't! It's dangerous! Stop it!" Irina while stopping Jim stealing her pistol.

Lucius joined and attempted to steal the pistol, Irina was annoyed and shoots recklessly, she didn't even cared that Jim is in front of her. The train finally passed the tunnel, Billy immediately climbed up to the roof without knowing that it was actually his father Willie who was shot in the right chest, Lucius has been shot on his left leg, Lucas saw it and immediately charged to Irina but Sam arrived with a gun aimed on Lucas's head. Emily screamed as she saw her husband and friend bleeding.

"Dad!!" Lucas immediately removed his jacket and covered the wound of his father.

Jim snatched the pistol of his mother and aimed it to Sam.

"You taught me how to shoot, don't let it betray you." said Jim while aiming his pistol Sam.

They outnumbered Sam's men so Junior, Gerald and William took their guns and pushed them to the 5th room is burning and it explodes. Even if her hands are still handcuffed, Emily still helped Eliza to climb to the roof to be rescued with Billy. Eliza can't stand alone any longer so Billy should assist her while they are on the roof. She then went to Willie to cover his wounds.

Sam aimed his gun to Lucas and Lucius and made them as his hostage.

"Make one wrong move and I'm gonna blow their heads off."

Irina grabbed Emily from the floor and made her as her hostage after Sam gave her another gun.

"Irina no!! Let her go!" Willie and William shouted.

Irina dragged Emily to the 3rd room and made her climb to the roof.

Jim lowered his weapon and surprisingly he shoots Sam's feet and his gun fell then Lucas immediately took it and aimed it to Sam. Gerald and Zelbert carried the wounded Willie and Junior and William carried Lucius to the 3rd room before the 4th room will explode.

"Jim..Why did you shoot your own dad?" asked Sam who is suffering in pain.

"You're not my dad, being just my blood related doesn't make you a family. You're a scoundrel, now you'll burn in your own deeds." said Jim while crossing to the 3rd room.

After all of them crossed, they closed the door from the 4th room leaving Sam there alone.

Eliza and Billy is being pulled when Irina saw them, Irina shot the rope and Eliza fell back on the roof while Billy is still hanging. Emily tried to stop Irina but she was still handcuffed. Billy bravely continued to hold the rope and climbed up to the chopper. Eliza can hardly stand, her leg was broken and her head is bleeding.

Junior and William pushed Willie to the roof to be rescued first because he already lost a lot of blood. Zelbert and Gerald went to the pilot's seat and helped Mr. Collins to fix the brakes.

"The train has to stopped, the steam engine is over heating, any time soon it will start a fire and explode!" said Mr. Collins while panicking.

"What!?" Gerald was shocked then went back to the 3rd room to warn them.

William and Lucas pushed Lucius to the roof too, but luckily, Lucius has still strength left to stand even if his leg was shot.

After Hugh put Grandpa Eddie, Grandma Wilma, Jerry and Ellie to the safe place, he immediately chase back the train to rescue who is left there, but it grabs his attention the upcoming more government helicopters, it was the rescue team, they found them. Hugh told them that the train was ahead and prioritize chasing the train because it's burning.

Gerald is sobbing telling them that the whole train will explode if they can't stop the train and the brake is broken, they have no choice but to wait to the rescuers. Junior and Jim climbed up to assist Willie and Lucius. Billy managed to reach to the top and was rescued, Lucas and William followed to the roof.

Junior immediately approached and helped Eliza who is bleeding. William, Willie, Lucas, Lucius, Eliza, Junior and Jim are now all on the roof of the 3rd room while Emily and Irina is at the roof of the 2nd room near to the steam engine.

"Irina..Let her go..She has done nothing wrong on you..Kill me if you want, stop harming everyone." William said while coming closer.

"Don't come any closer!" Irina aimed her gun on Emily's head, Willie was furious and trying to stand but he can't, Willie is catching his breath and can hardly move.

The rescuers had arrived and circling them.

"Irina.... It's over, please stop this.. Listen to me, I'm still your husband... Remember?" William started to cry and so as Irina.

"Husband!!!? Bugger it William! For over 15 years of our marriage, I never felt that you treated me like a wife! You think I didn't saw you crying many times because you regretted marrying me? You really thought that I believed your words saying that you love me?"

"I did! But you keep pushing me away!"

"No! You did! You're the one who moved a away from me!" Irina cried harder. "William..Did you ever loved me??? "

William just cried.

"Say it!!! William!! Did you love me as a wife!??Well then.." Irina aimed her gun to her own head.

"Irina don't!!!" shouted William.

"Irina don't..I know I'm one the reasons why you ended up like this, so please-" Lucius stopped her but instead, Irina shot him again but this time, it's his arm.

"No!!!" Lucas and William shouted.

The 4th room is about to explode, Junior didn't noticed that Sam is about to climb at the roof of the 3rd room, but Willie noticed it. The train starts rumbling, slowing down and about to explode. Mr. Collins, Zelbert and Gerald climbed to the 3rd roof and warned about the explosion. Irina and Emily ran towards the 3rd roof to avoid the explosion. The choppers laid down the ropes and exactly the 4th room exploded, Sam is burning then fell and dragged Willie with him.

"No!!!" Emily shouted when she saw Sam dragged Willie to the explosion.

Same time the steam engine exploded and the remaining rooms starts to burn and to exploded.

Some of them managed to hold on the choppers ropes but some are unlucky, when the rooms finally exploded, Junior, Zelbert, Lucas, Gerald, Mr. Collins and Jim are the only ones who managed to hold onto the ropes. Eliza, Irina, Emily, Lucius and William was casted out by the explosion to the river and it's a hundred feet tall bridge.

Eliza fell on the left side while William, Emily, Lucius and Irina are on the right side. Junior and Lucas bravely jumped from the rope to the river to help Eliza because the rope they are holding is in the left side, so Eliza is in their favor and in addition, Eliza is already unconscious.

William and Irina managed to float immediately then Irina swam directly to the shore. Lucius is wounded, lost a massive amount of blood already and he was with Emily under the water, he saw that Emily's hand was stuck in the rock because of the handcuff. Even tho his arms and leg are already numbing in pain, he still managed to help Emily to pull her out from the rock that prevented her to swim up. William swam below to look for Emily and Lucius, he found Lucius helping Emily to pull her out from the rock, he then immediately responded and help her too. Both Emily and Lucius are about to pass out under, Emily lost her consciousness first, exactly, Lucius and William finally pulled her out from the rock, William immediately pull her up first, he tried to reach Lucius's hand too but he can't carry them both, he brought Emily to the shore first not knowing Lucius already lost his consciousness and already drowned under, after William put Emily to the shore, he then immediately swam down again to help Lucius whom he found not moving.

Junior and Lucas on the other hand was still looking for Eliza, Junior found her stuck on the door that fell with her, so he grabbed Lucas to signal that he found Eliza and they put all their force to unstuck her. Eliza isn't moving because she was already unconscious when she fell, she's probably already drown, when they finally unstuck her, they immediately pull her up and brought her to the shore. Lucas immediately ran after to the other side to help his father. When he got there, he saw William crying carrying his father and it's not moving. Irina wasn't around anymore and Emily regained her consciousness after Lucas gave her CPR. Then Junior arrived carrying the unconscious Eliza.

"Hey, hey..Wake up." said William while slowly putting Lucius down.

Lucius opened his eyes weakly and trying to catch his breath. He holds Lucas's face and released a miserable tears, Lucas held his hands and cried.

"Dad its gonna be okay, help is coming just hold on tight." said Lucas while crying.

Then Lucius held Emily's hand and reached it to William's hand.

"I'm sorry..for both of you..I didn't..mean to.. destroy your dreams.. together..." Lucius said in his weak and lousy voice.

He tried to held William and Emily's hand together and smiled in tears. Then he reached something on his pocket, a letter that is soaking wet and he gave it to Emily.

"Take care of my son William... He has nowhere to go." whispered Lucius in a weak voice.

"No, you will be the one to take care of him, remember you wanted to see Lucas having a child right?And, and, and you have to be there on Junior's 21st birthday, you still need to give him the photo right? That's a decades promise...Hey...Lucius.. Don't do this to me.. You're not leaving me again.. Hey.. fusspot... You're kidding.. Don't show me that face.." said William while tapping Lucius face while crying to prevent Lucius from passing out.

"I wish.." Lucius then closed his eyes after touching William's face and released his last tears and breath.

"Fusspot... This can't be..." said William in his husky voice and started to cry harder.

The three of them cried in pain and loss Emily kissed Lucius's forehead.

William kissed him on the lips for the very last time while hugging Lucius tightly while crying.

~2 Days Later~

Princess Irina was captured and sentenced 50 years in prison. William stepped down on being the next Prime Minister and revoked his whole name which is William Darcy with Sr. on it. Eliza forgave Susan but Lucas swear not to trust her mother anymore and he's already under William's ward. Junior gave the flashdrive of his Uncle Willie to the authorities just to clear his name and reveal the truth about the bribed documentaries. The flashdrive contains not only the real documentaries but also his video of himself crying while confessing and apologizing to Emily for his mistakes about Patricia.

Zelbert returned to Glasgow with his father and as promised, they started a new life there, he seek for forgiveness from Junior and all his friends he betrayed, after that he can return and face them all.

Lucius and Willie's funeral is at Pemberley under the commandments of Grandpa Eddie and according to him, Lucius deserves to be buried with the Darcys as he saved one of their family member.

Junior didn't revealed his Uncle Hugh's business as his return for helping them.

William has been crying and hasn't came out from his room the whole day, he can't imagine the pain of losing both his brother and lover. Junior came to his room to serve his lunch.

"What are you doing here? I suggest you should get out." said William while still sobbing.

"Dad it's me." said Junior while closing the door using his ankle. "I brought your lunch for you, Grandma has been worrying about you because you hasn't eaten anything." he added then put the food on the table.

William is just lying on his bed and didn't move, so Junior lay beside him and hugged him.

"I'm sorry Dad.." said Junior while hugging his father.

William continued to cry.

Emily on the other hand is on her desk inside her room crying and hesitant to read the letter that Lucius wrote for her, but her guts is pulling her to read it.

Dear Emily:

How are you my old friend? I'm glad that you're happily married and contented, seriously, I mean it. Look, I'm may be dead by now while you're reading this, but I still hope for your acceptance of my apology, I can't face you because I'm scared, by this letter, I can express my apology to you and William. My soul will be at rest if I saw you two together again like the way you used to be before. I'm sorry again Emily, I didn't mean to, I loved both of you.

Lucius wrote that letter when he was still at Sam's basement. Emily burst into tears and hugged the letter, Billy saw her from the door and hugged her.

"Mom... They're here." said Billy and Emily immediately wiped her tears and went to the hall where Patricia and her Grandmother just arrived.

Emily called them because she wants to see Patricia and register herself as the legitimate mother of Patricia.

"I always wanted a daughter.." said Emily while shedding tears and carrying Patricia. "She has Willie's eyes, look at her Billy, you finally have a sister."

"I'm very sorry for your lost Mrs. Darcy, Willie is such a responsible good man." said Patricia's Grandmother.

"I know..I always know." replied Emily while releasing tears.

Emily brought Patricia to Grandma Wilma and Grandpa Eddie to introduce her.

"Mom, Dad.. This is Patricia.. Willie's daughter." Grandma Wilma emotionally handling her only Granddaughter and hugged her.

Eliza was still at the hospital and will be discharged tomorrow.

Irina was being bullied in the prison and always beaten by the other female prisoners, her parents can't do anything to protect her anymore because the proofs and witnesses are strong enough to defeat their position's capabilities.

William didn't ate his lunch, instead, he and Junior is taking a walk outside and embracing the fresh air, but, William is still sobbing while walking.

"Dad, let's sit for a bit."

They sat on the ground with trimmed grass beneath the tree facing the Pemberley's lake. William hasn't spoken a word since they came out from the house, Junior is just staying beside his father. Along with the cold winds, the more William's tears shed. Lucas and Emily went after them and brought a food for William.

"William..You need to eat at least." said Emily while trying to put a bread on William's mouth. "And.. I brought coffee for you two."

William finally ate and talked.

"Why it has to be them?" William started to weep again.

Junior and Emily hugged him and cried too.

"I never got to apologize on Willie, I never got to confess to him that it was me who threw the ball on Mom's kettle and I just dragged him with me and.." William cried harder.

"And I never told how I envy him for being smart, for being talented, I never told him that I'm so proud of his achievements....I never had been a good brother to him." William cried more and Emily still hugging him.

"It's okay William, he always know." said Emily while hugging William.

William and Junior drunk the coffee and there was a moment of silence, then William clears his throat.

"Since Junior and Lucas is here, I think it's the right time to tell them the tale that happened 30 years ago." said William after the drinking coffee.

"I think you should start from the beginning, I didn't knew about all of it." said Emily while crawling near to Junior and hugged it.

"I bet Lucius didn't told Lucas about this." said William while looking at Lucas.

"He never talked about his youth..." replied Lucas while still sobbing.

"That's because we kept it forbidden...Are you okay with this Emily? You sure you wanna listen?" Dad asked Mom.

"I'm always open, don't worry, I'll back you up, I knew some of it, you just didn't know." said Emily while touching William's shoulder.

"Well then ..."
