This was the first time Su Wan had heard Gu Nanzhou call her "wife" since they reconciled.
The man's voice was very pleasant; those two words sounded as if they were being finely ground out between his teeth. His speech was slow, his voice deep and hoarse, drawing out a bit longer at the end, with a hint of lingering melancholy and tenderness.
Gu Nanzhou held the young girl tightly around the waist, and Su Wan suddenly felt that Gu Nanzhou seemed to be... acting coy with her.
Su Wan's ears heated up; accustomed to the man's usual cool and indifferent demeanor, she felt like it was the first time she saw this side of Gu Nanzhou.
Su Wan's heart also suddenly softened. She leaned in slightly, her expression full of concern, "Does it hurt a lot?"
Gu Nanzhou responded in a low voice.
"Why is it hurting again?" Su Wan frowned, "Didn't the doctor say it was much better?"
