I register the feeling of being in the air first. Then the next thing I feel is myself being carried.
I am in someone's hands. I feel the pain in my whole body and I can barely breathe through it. There is so much heat and I feel as is my whole skin is seared. I want to cry out in pain, because even the movement is making me feel so much pain but I can't. Only my brain seems to be able to work well and register something else other than the pain.
I can't open my eyes either so it's like I am trapped in my own mind.
I hear the screams and then sudden explosions but they seem to be at a far distance. Whoever is carrying me is walking. The screams die when the loud noise is made.
I remember what happened before we were buried and exploded. How I am alive, I don't know. I can barely say I am alive though so I guess until I am able to open my eyes, then is the time I can say I have at least come out of the thick of it.
