Slightly irritated, Kaoma squashed down any rebuke that might cause offense, choosing instinctively to play things safer.
Sayid, who overhead everything, decided to intervene before Maxixe could make things escalate between himself and Kaoma.
He already had a lot to deal with his own men; the last thing he wanted was a pissed off fairy on his watch.
"Maxixe, Aster needs your help with securing the horses until the rest of my pack returns," interrupted Sayid.
Maxixe knew exactly what Sayid was doing but went obediently to do as requested for a change leaving Sayid alone with Kaoma.
Kaoma braced herself for what Sayid had to say next but still she was unprepared to hear him say, "When I said to be honest with Maxixe going forward princess, that is not what I meant."
Tears of laughter came to her eyes and she let out a few unladylike snorts, she wanted to reply but in the moment she could only shake her head uncontrollably with mirth.
