Chapter 1, The unknown figure.

"Goodbye, my child" were the last words I heard from my father before he left for war. Oh I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Olivia. I live in a small town. My mum left when I was 5, a few months ago my dad left for war. I'm currently a senior in high school. It's my last year. Nobody knows about my mum. I've only told Mia about her.

Mia is my best friend. The first day I moved here we became friends. We do everything with each other. We laugh together, cry together and do crazy things! We both trust each other a lot. That's why she's the only person who knows about my mum

On the other hand, Andrew Davis. I hate him. He's been rude to me ever since I came to this school. Andrew is a popular guy in our school. All the girls like him, I don't understand why though.

It was currently 6 Am, and I woke up to somebody knocking on my door. I ran to the door and opened it to see Mia

"Oh goody you're up!" Mia exclaimed with a smile plastered on her face.

"Oh hey Mia, what are you doing here?" I asked her, Why was she up at 6 Am?

She was about to say something when her phone rang. She checked it and her eyes widened, she looked back at me and gave me a nervous smile.

"oh uh I got to go now. Bye!" She exclaimed and ran back to her place. I was confused.

Oh wait, have I told you Mia's weird? I wonder who was calling her. Since I wasn't really tired anymore, I went upstairs to get ready.

I walked downstairs and looked at the clock. It was only 6:30. I sighed and I sat down on the sofa,

I was watching my show and turned my head to see my bookshelves. I was bored so I got up and went to the shelves to find something. I was looking through the books when I spotted a photo album. I was confused, I didn't know I had one.. I picked the album and went back to the sofa. I started flipping through the pages. There were only a few photos of me.

I kept flipping the pages when a photo caught my attention. It was a photo of my father. I looked at the picture and had flashbacks. I remember my dad saying he would be with me at all times, I started tearing up remembering all the moments we had. I really missed him. Suddenly I realized in the photo there was another figure. I was confused, was it my sibling? I always grew up as an only child and my parents had no siblings, so who was my dad holding?

I was so into my thoughts that when I checked the time it was 7:10 I was late for class! I got up and ran to the school.

My Professor was already teaching the class when she saw me. Thankfully, this time she let it slide. Mia looked at me confused, "Meet me outside after class" I whispered and she nodded.

After class, I was waiting for Mia at the lockers when I saw Andrew and his friends. I looked around for a hiding spot when I saw the girls bathroom. I quickly ran into the room and peaked through the crack of the door. They were in front of my locker! Then I realized they were going to write something on it. I was about to stop them but then I saw Mia. Mia ran to Andrew and his friends and pushed them away from my locker. She started yelling at them. I could hear her from the bathrooms.

The boys started laughing and walked away leaving Mia mad. I came out of the bathroom and ran to Mia.

Mia looked at me and calmed down. I'm truly lucky to have her as my best friend.

"Finally, you're here. So tell me why you came late" Mia says leaning on the lockers.

After I told her everything about my morning Mia was silent. So was I.

She suddenly started talking again.

"You're kidding right?" Mia laughed.

"I'm being serious, '' I said. I wasn't lying! Mia stopped laughing and looked at me shocked.

"Maybe it's a friend's kid?" She said,

I shrugged. "I don't know sorry, but I have to go to my next class bye!" she said and left.

Are you kidding me?

Mia was acting differently for the past few weeks. I don't understand why!

Am I being crazy? Or is she really changing...
