(This is for people that want more information oand how the world/power system works. This chapter would probably get updated and changed quite a lot as the novel goes on so there would probably be some spoilers and missing information.)
☆Power System of Arcanists☆
●9 Tiers - 9 being the highest.
Tiers are major ranks, each Tier being much more powerful than the last.
Different Tiers have different methods and requirements to advance to. For instance, at Tier 0, one needed to learn and master two Tier 1 spells and engrave them onto your Mana Cube which would then cause the cube to change, allowing your Cube to store in mana. This would make you a Tier 1 Arcanist.
A Tier 1 Arcanist had different requirements to promote to a Tier 2 Arcanist, being how one needed to refine their Mana Cube and learn some Tier 2 spells to engrave onto your Cube.
●Mana Cube
The Mana Cube resides within your soul and acts like the dantian in cultivation novels or Magic Cores in some fantasy novels. For Arcanists, the Mana Cube acts as a refiner of mana. The better the Mana Cube, the more pure/powerful the mana that's stored inside the cube is. This allows one to cast spells using the Mana within it.
You connect to your Mana Cube once you turn 16 as that's when your soul is mature enough through the assistance of another Arcanist or by being exposed to chaotic mana for a long enough time.
●Spellcasting
To cast a spell requires one to create elemental symbols through the exertion of your will and harmonise them together to manipulate the surrounding mana into a spell. This makes it so if you want to cast a spell, you would need to remember every symbol and how they all harmonise. For more powerful spells, you would have to remember countless symbols which could be quite daunting. However, once you master a spell, you can engrave the symbols onto your Mana Cube which makes spellcasting more efficient. Using spells that have been engraved onto your Mana Cube would require the mana that is stored within your cube rather than the surrounding mana of the world. This makes the spell much more faster to cast as you wouldn't need to remember all the symbols and the spell would also be more powerful due to the purer mana being used, taken out from your Mana Cube that holds it.
●Affinities
8 main Affinities/Cube Types which is Crimson(Fire), Azure(Water), Aurora(Wind), Verdant(Earth), Luminous(Light), Umbral(Shadow), Ethereal(Space), Cerulean(Time).
There are also sub-affinities/magics such as ice and lightning and more abstract ones like illusion and dream magic but I haven't really touched upon them too much.
●Talent
Low, Medium, High and Blessed.
It allows one to comprehend spells much faster and gives a better understanding of your element.
Everyone in the world would have some kind of affinity. Even the most miniscule amount would place you in low talent. Only on special occasions would one not have any affinity whether that's because you have some strange illness or a problem/different constitution with your body.
An affinity to Space and time wouldn't be well known as not many people in the world understand what they are due to how abstract the elements is. They are invisible to the eyes of others, making Arcanists of other elements not able to sense the space-time cubes when connecting and awakening one's affinity.
