MMORPG: Visceral Online

What does revenge mean? Harvey crushed the man's finger with his boot, relishing in the satisfaction of his agonizing scream. What does revenge mean? Walking towards the man writhing in pain, Harvey delivered a forceful kick to his ribs as desperate pleas for help escaped him. This is revenge. ... Harvey Laurier and numerous players, once immersed in the virtual world of Visceral Online, found themselves inexplicably trapped with no means of escape. How was such a phenomenon possible? In a fantasy realm filled with dragons, monsters, cursed weapons, and kingdoms—a dream for many gamers—an emerging faction within the game transformed this dream into a chilling nightmare. Players capable of challenging their dominance are targeted before they can reach their full potential, with Harvey finding himself in their crosshairs. However, in the midst of his battle against the faction, his girlfriend becomes a casualty, losing her life in the process. For many, such an event would be traumatizing, but for Harvey, it shattered something. A loosely held chord within him snapped, and he made a solemn vow upon her corpse. "I'll kill every single one of them with my own hands, regardless of what I have to sacrifice to do so.” Additional tags No edge lord(synopsis is exaggerated) World building Vengeance Fantasy Trapped Mystery.

Power System(1)

Hi guys, Jeffery here and in this aux chap, I'll be explaining everything about VISIDIA and how the power system works, in detail.

So first off, there's the randomized ability system.

Ability system/Innate Technique: Every single player has a different ability with no ability having a single repetition, making each character unique.

Elements: Everyone gets to choose two elements to add to their basic attacks and forms, mages and some other classes that are heavily reliant on magic, get 3-4 elements rather than the measly two for other classes.

Forms: For close-range fighters, depending on the weapon and element they can unlock forms to aid them in battle, one of these is Harvey's [Sun Splitter] Which increases his speed and lathers his daggers in fire, now although the same forms can be used by many players, there are several unique forms that can only be gained by gaining a unique weapon.

Weapon system: Weapons contain the forms, meaning without his blades, Harvey no longer has access to his forms. The more basic the weapon, the smaller the chance of having a unique powerful form, vice versa.

Special weapons: Special weapons are gained from multiple sources, crafted by using rare runes, materials, or pried from the hand of a dead boss. However, if you want a pretty cool rare weapon. Kill an unknown. *(Hehehehehehe)*

Spells: Although almost all classes can use spells, Mages and a few others base their entire way of attacking off it, hence why they are granted buffs to their spells since they have no way of getting up close. (most of the time)

Contract: This skill is exclusive to players without a manifest, offering them a chance to compete with those who possess a manifest in VISIDIA.

A contract begins with a request initiated by one player and sent to their opponent, who has the option to decline. The essence of a contract lies in the removal of abilities, weapons, or other aspects, exchanged for buffs from a pool of buffs. These buffs enhance a player's strength, speed, durability, etc.

For example, if a player decides to remove three abilities for three buffs and sends the request to their opponent, the opponent can reciprocate with a similar arrangement. If the opponent agrees, they must eliminate the corresponding elements without knowing what was removed until the contract is successfully engaged.

Scenario:

Player A challenges Player B to a contract, choosing to forfeit their manifest, weapon, and spellcasting ability. (Note: He's not removing his manifest, just the idea/concept. Meaning if the opponent agrees, he can't use a manifest in the fight).

Player B receives the contract request from Player A and, driven by arrogance and anger, accepts the challenge. However, Player B remains unaware of the specifics of Player A's sacrifices or the buffs gained in return, and vice versa.

All buffs continue until a player is dead or the host ends the contract.

The buffs are from a randomized pool of pretty good buffs. Here is the randomized pool.

Critical hit chance increase

Strength increase

Speed increase

Health increase

Durability increase.

The way these buffs impact the player's stats is kinda like this.

Toughness-109/9999(maxed) (+100)

Strength- 109/9999(maxed) (+100)

Speed-109/9999(maxed) (+100)

It's made to force the opponent to agree, and while some players who are overpowered would still be able to beat someone who starts a contract, you never really know now do you?

Manifest: explained in a separate auxiliary chapter.

Although I think you all understand most of what's up there, let me clear out some parts that are vague to understand.

Maxed: This means once you get to the number 99999, you can't level up anymore. That would be the end game for most players.

Now.

For my writing style.

I'll be using a basic writing style, which is really just something like this. 'Harvey assumed his stance, holding his daggers close to his chest before surging towards his enemy, the blades sparked ablaze as they were coated in the initial form known as the Sun Splitter.'

I recently learned my name is actually Jeffrey and not Jeffery, but I guess its too late to change my high school to college documents.
