Secret Stairway

After getting called a toothless tiger by Griselda, Lei Zhen could only remain helpless.

He was indeed a powerless player that had some power in the royal family.

As soon as someone tried to assassinate him, then he might as well be a fish in the chopping board if no other guards came to assist him.

"Do you always tease people like this?" Lei Zhen asked, seemingly confused by her behavior.

She was a celebrity and from what he heard, she was supposedly a gentle and kind person in the eyes of the public. Maybe all of that was a facade and she was secretly wicked.

"I'm not always like this, Lei Zhen." Griselda turned solemn and said.

And she continued, "I'm only teasing you because I found it comfortable chatting with you without needing to think twice about my actions."

When Lei Zhen heard the solemn tone, he understood that she had a backstory of herself and didn't say anything else.

Sometime later, Griselda began sharing the information she gathered with Lei Zhen.
