Juli had already slept during the daytime. Now she didn't want to sleep. She sat on the chair of the study table. She started to explore the table. There were some documents and letters written in a foreign language, but she was able to read them.
There were two books in the drawer. One of them had a green cover and had some columns in it. Juli thought that it must be an account book or a record book. The other book had a beautiful blue silk cover and a blue silk strap to bind it. She thought it should be a diary.
She was excited to read the personal diary of Livia because she still had not gained her all memories. Juli also had another bad habit of sneaking and reading her younger sister and cousin's diaries. This was the reason Juli gave her sister her favorite idol music album on her birthday. She didn't have that habit purely because of her curiosity.
There was another reason. When Anna became silent, out of her character. Juli's mother insisted she talk to Anna. She gave Anna a sketchbook and diary as a gift to cheer her up. But all was in vain until Juli read her diary to discover that Anna was getting bullied in school. Juli told her parents about this, and they went to Anna's school the next day.
Juli was also a senior in that school. She apologized to Anna for being an irresponsible elder sister and told her that one of her class fellows had seen you getting bullied. That's why she came to know about this event. She didn't want Anna to stop writing but she also wanted Anna to trust her. Juli was smiling while remembering this.
She thought she should also start writing a diary to gather her thoughts. She started by writing "Day 0" on the top of the page. She thought that she had only the next thirty days to sort out everything and get rid of this loop. The pen she was holding was like a modern ink pen. She didn't have to dip it in any inkpot. It was a refill and easy to hold and use. She liked the black color of the pen. But she continued to write.
"I've not opened my eyes in a 19th-century novel but rather in some weird place, maybe Rome. But I'm not sure." After writing this she thought that isn't the British Empire a trend nowadays for an isekai troop. Her inner otaku was getting awake now. She wanted to overthink a lot of moments. But she slapped her face and started to write again.
"Livia- an absolute fool, yet a selfless and honest friend."
"P.S. I like her. She is so pretty."
"Lucius- sus character, doesn't seem a bad guy, fiancé of Flavia."
"P.S. He is a breathtaking beauty."
"Domitia- not enough data, also a beauty."
"Quintus- elder brother of Flavia, weirdly interested in Livia and Lucius, super sus, maybe he knows something about Lucius".
"P.S. Only non-blonde person (has white hairs and also a beauty)"
She thought, "Quintus is the most suspicious person here. The way he looks toward Livia is not something normal. Maybe he is interested in her. It seems obvious that Livia is a dense person and has no idea about his feelings. But I'm a good observer. I can easily see the man whose eyes are filled with love. But LoL Quintus' eyes are filled with disappointment and pity. My poor little kiddo!"
She started to write again.
"Flavia- no meeting yet."
She rethinked her whole day and recalled her conversation with Livia. She realized a point she was missing before. She wrote,
"Time difference"
Juli thought that she had hardly spent two hours in this world and had died twice. But when she met Livia. She said that there had been two days since she came into this world. There is the possibility that these worlds have a time difference. Time in our world must pass rapidly as compared to this world. That can also be the reason why am I in ancient times. But that is just a possibility. It is just a rough hypothesis.
She closed the diary and started to think of a way to make Flavia happy. But she thought, how could she make her happy without meeting her and it was only possible to meet her when she returned from the ritual.
"What a headache!", Juli complained. Her eyes suddenly fell on the sandals. She was wearing. She also started to touch the dress she was wearing. She realized that she was wearing a wool dress. It was not a single-layer dress as she had thought previously. This dress had two layers.
She was wearing a dress which was from her chest to the knees. It was like undergarments. Over these undergarments, she was wearing a wool shawl that was draped. It was covering her shoulders and undergarments somehow below her knees. It was clasped on the shoulders with the help of some beautiful clasps. It was also clasped around her waist with a golden brooch most probably.
She started to search all the drawers again because she had seen a book with dresses on it. After searching for a few minutes. She succeeded in finding it. She opened that book. It had different types of designs and dresses drawn on it. It also labeled the names of the parts of the different parts of a dress.
While she was turning pages. She saw a similar dress to the one she was wearing. The different parts of it were labeled. The undergarment she was wearing was called Tunic. It was a common dress that everyone wore irrespective of their gender. But she thought that the tunics Lucius and Quintus were wearing were not covering their chest. They were wearing the Togas or Stolas above it like her.
The togas or stolas are the long-draped garments for formal occasions mostly. But nobles or high-ranking officials wore them daily. As she was turning pages. She saw a picture of a simple tunic. It was written that commoners, slaves, and low-class officials wore undyed wool, having natural off-white or light brown colors. These types of tunics are affordable and most practical for them. They don't wear togas.
She thought people here wore white mostly and didn't care and focused on other colors. As she proceeded further, she saw that other colors of dresses were also present like yellow, blue, and red. But these colors were obtained through natural dyes like saffron for the yellow color, madder for the red color, and woad for the blue color. These colors were also common among commoners but wore only on special occasions. But as expected nobles liked to wear white. "What type of obsession do these people have for white color?", Juli said.
