Mission Rescue - Part 05

Adam will bid farewell in silence, not wanting to engage in a conversation with Worker and Ramin, feeling uneasy about their two-faced nature. But she didn't need to make a decision. As soon as she decided to leave, Jani and Worker emerged from the kitchen.

"Back to where again?" she asked.

"For urgent work," Adam replied.

Worker noticed the bag on her shoulder. "Back to Scotland again? Are you going to keep the wedding a secret from us?"

Though Adam wanted to inform her friend of everything, she couldn't say anything. She remained silent. If Alexander Lionel's ruthless game rules were broken, Jessica would suffer. She would feel guilty for the rest of her life.

"Why or where I'm going, you don't need to know," Adam said. "You'll know later. Without this, I have no other way."

Throughout the evening, Jani and Worker emptied bottle after bottle of wine. But the fatigue on the face of their dear friend sobered them up in a moment. Ramin came and stood beside her. The two villains had become small.

"You know, in times of trouble, you'll find us by your side," Worker said. "Isn't that right, Adam?"

"Jani."

"In that case, you can share the problem."

"At this moment, I have nothing to say, Jani."

"We won't hesitate to die for you, bhai," said Ramin Reza. "You know that."

"Thank you for saying that," Adam said inwardly.

"Your hand is cut," Ramin noticed. "Shall I bandage it?"

"No, it's not necessary," Adam waved towards her hand. "It's nothing."

Ramin looked at her in surprise.

Jani and Worker have become serious.

"One thing, I'll check every phone in the house after I leave," Adam said. Ramin and Jani find her words very strange.

"Why would you do that, Adam?" Worker's brows furrowed.

"Jessica might call," Adam said. "In that case, she won't receive her call. Even we won't call her. Will you remember my request?"

Worker and Ramin looked at each other in astonishment. Worker turned towards her friend. "Your behavior has been very mysterious since returning home, Adam. What's really going on?"

"I've already said, I can't say anything," Adam replied.

"Will this lead us into darkness?" Worker said. "Tell us briefly what's going on."

"I'm sorry, Jani."

"At least tell us where you're going."

"Right now, London." With a gentle pat on Worker's shoulder, Adam left the house. They had fought side by side in various dangers, yet today, she had to keep everything hidden from Jani or Ramin. Adam had found solace, fortified herself, buried deep within her resolve. Jani and Ramin extended their helping hands, but there was nothing more to say. Adam's disdain for Lionel had only intensified.

As the matter with Fox was resolved, Adam paused to find the gentle breeze of January. The man had put Jessica on the brink of death. Therefore, Adam decided she would chase him to the ends of the earth. She wouldn't find salvation.

Adam started the engine of her Toyota Offroad Premium and took her place in the driver's seat. After closing the door, she pressed the accelerator with her foot firmly on the pedal. With a roar, the car accelerated, leaving behind the agency in the wake of the storm.
