Ch 35 - A Girl Is Precious, So Don't Waste Her

The taxis arrived, and 4 of the girls went in one taxi and went back. As for me…

"...Heh. That's funny." I said as I liked a meme a certain Private made for me. It's essentially this.

"...Aki, you think we still have enough time to make a song together, or at least make music together?"

"I mean...your stream is at 8 PM this evening, right? We have loads of time." Aki said.

"Huh...I guess so." I said.

"...Say, Shiro-kun."

"Hmm?"

"...Um...could you guide me in composing lyrics?"

"...Sure. I don't mind. Besides, I guess teaching somebody like you who composed not only a song but also their own language would be fun."

And so, we finally went back to the school, and we decided to go inside Aki's room.

When we did, it was when me and Aki finally had some alone time…

"Hah…hah...Shiro-kun, go a bit slower, would you?"

"I'm sorry, but...you know, I felt like you could take it all at once."

I also started panting a bit faster.

"Still…to think you were able to compose a song that quick, not only lyrics, but also the idea of the actual instrumental, is amazing!"

I could feel her breath. It was very hot, and I don't know if I could even do it more to her.

"Can I speed it up? We need to finish quickly." I asked.

"Eh? But if we go faster, my mind will go blank!" Aki said while panting even harder with her face becoming more red.

"Trust me, we'll be fine." I chuckled.

"Hah…hah...Urgh...!" She tightened her grip.

She slammed her desk, making it shake a bit, and letting the surrounding items on it bounce a bit, and she breathed out.

"AAAHHHH!! SCREW IT! MY MIND'S OVERHEATING!" She grabbed her head as steam went out.

I sighed.

"How the hell did you even write your own song? Matter of fact, how many days did it even take you to write it?"

"IT TOOK ME LIKE 4 MONTHS OR SO TO FINISH THE WHOLE SONG, OKAY?!" She sobbed.

"Sigh...you know what? Let's take a break. This is usually a writer's block thing, and the best thing to solve writer's block is to drop the pen, get a glass of water or eat something, and just relax. C'mon." I said.

"O-Okay…" She said as she put the pen on the table, and we both stood up.

"So...have anything to eat?" I asked.

"Well...there's some bread we can eat...oh, here's also some biscuits, want some?" She asked.

"Bread, please."

"Would you like some peanut butter? Maybe something else?"

"Nah, I just need plain bread."

We sat down at her dining table, and we started eating. Of course...I had to face away while eating.

"Still…to think you were able to compose a song that quick, not only lyrics, but also the actual instrumental, is amazing!"

"Well...I've been composing beats and writing lyrics my whole life. I should be expected to at least get some sort of idea in mind, no matter how simple it is."

"Still, not only that, but you were able to play a lot of instruments!"

"Not the drums though. You did it, actually."

"But you were the one who told me to play it according to your vision."

"Well...you're just as talented, Aki." I giggled.

"I guess…" She chuckled.

"...You know, it's funny."

"Hmm?"

"You've just debuted since a week ago, and you've already reached 100k subs, which is already not only more than your Holostars senpais, but it's also fast for a male Vtuber! At some point...you might even surpass some of us…"

"Oh, please. We'll just see. Besides...subs don't define your abilities or talent. Hell, I know this one underrated rapper called EZ Mil, and he's been having difficulty in getting good views ever since his trending song called 'Panalo' came out."

"...But Japan is different, remember?"

"So? Vtubers quit, idols quit, singers, and rappers alike...but those that were able to persevere and never let the negatives influence their passion and determination…" I chuckled.

"That's prolly why I was able to have the fortune to get here. Luck is a huge factor in success, but once the lucky part is done, it all comes down to your grind."

"...I know." I heard her voice waver.

I widened my eyes and put my mask back on after swallowing what I chewed, and I looked back to see Aki putting her hands into a fist, and her eyes slightly getting more moisty.

"Hey…" I said as I got close to her, and sat at the chair next to her.

"...I know what you're gonna say, but...I don't wanna hear it." She said.

"C'mon...Aki-senpai, you're a great Hololive senpai, you know that? 3 years of constant grinding is gonna pay off soon-"

"I know!" She said.

"..."

"...But despite the hard work, even though I've learned to do what I want, it sometimes gets to me...imagine having all these talents, and not getting the deserved attention...not to mention, you're getting so much attention, and you're also showcasing all these cool talents of yours...I guess you're just in a different league, huh?" She giggled.

I gritted my teeth at the sound of that. It boiled something in me. Something that reminded me of what I once was.

"Aki!" I said as I looked straight into her eyes.

"...Y-Yeah?" She widened her eyes a bit at the sight of my red eyes staring into her. Not into her eyes anymore, but at "Aki" herself, deep within this girl I'm talking to.

"...You might not have known it, but you've made it...way before you even realized it." I said.

I softened my look and looked forward as I leaned on the table.

"Back when I was still using the pseudonym 'White T', I also didn't get enough attention...Sure, I got about a thousand views, and that's already an achievement, but...when I was just uploading singles, EPs, and whatnot, I didn't really get the attention I wanted at the start...hell, when I finally retired from my past persona, I still wasn't signed to a label…"

"I know how hard it is to be affected by numbers, and not only that, but to filter out the good comments with negativity, like trolls, haters, and whatnot...I used to be stressed about it together with the stress I'd get from my work…"

"But if there's one thing that I'm sure about it. It's that the hard work never disappoints." I looked back at her.

"..."

"...All the hard work, the blood, sweat, and tears we shed, will all soon pay off...look at my past self...I was nothing! But then I got popular enough by sheer luck, and I was able to get a name for myself...I got so much money from it...heh."

"And to be honest, Aki...there's something I learned...being underrated has its perks. When you get a new fan, that's a fan that'll be forever loyal to you…"

"I don't wanna sound like an asshole, but...most people that subscribed to HoloEN, fucking...Pekora or something. Just anybody that subscribed to the most popular and trending Vtubers? Some of those fans are bandwagoned...they're not even loyal. They just subscribe, and never watch anymore."

"Hell, maybe even me, since I just went trending in Twitter a couple days ago…"

"And if it's somebody like you, Aki? Who never gave up despite feeling depressed and sad about it all? And to still be a streamer until now? With almost reaching 500k subs? ...Be proud that all your fans right now are loyal to you...and trust me...one day, you will blast in subs."

"If you really want the attention, and I'm trending right now? Once our collab song goes out, BOOM! Instant fame!" I chuckled.

She slowly smiled and giggled, putting her hand against her mouth to cover her smile.

"...I guess so...you're really good with words, huh?"

"Nah...I just speak this from the heart. Besides, I'm also a loyal fan. Albeit I don't watch you all the time...I'm willing to see what you've been doing, Aki."

"Yeah...thank you for your words...though…"

"...Ouch." I said nonchalantly when she punched my arm.

"Don't feel too bad that a girl is getting sad, idiot." She giggled.

"Welp...if a senpai says so." I chuckled.

And so, we finished taking a small snack, and I continued helping her to write some lyrics. Especially when she wanted to mix in some English for her lyrics. Sort of had to do my best in explaining what the sentences meant and also some grammar issues, but all in all, we were able to finish the whole song and even rehearse while using some of her instruments.

"Let's have another practice session and finish the song another time, Shiro-kun!" Aki waved.

"Un. See ya." I said.

"H-Hey…"

"...Oh?"

"...Thanks for coming. I appreciated it, you know? Keeping your promise?"

"Yup. I try my best to not have a bad memory. Luckily I didn't forget yours." I chuckled.

"When I finally get the melody drilled into my head that it'll be the only thing I'll remember, let's record the song, okay?"

"Sure. I'll also work hard to finish the music in time."

"Sure! It's a promise, okay?"

"Yup. It's a promise." I giggled as I made my way to the stairs and went down to the 1st floor.

And so, I went downstairs, and I sat inside my room, going on my computer and warming up for my Valorant.

No offense to any Valorant players, but I played CS:GO as a warm-up, 'cause players there are usually very fast at aiming and headshotting, even though some can get quite toxic...There also were a couple games where I had to speak at the mic while working with some Russian speakers, but hey, I can speak Russian, so it wasn't too much of a hassle.

After that, I also talked in Discord with some of the boys, and even some Holomembers like Rushia. As far as the girls I've made friends with and those that I also interacted with, they just wanted to know how I've been doing. I also talked with Calli and we were talking about some plans to work behind the scenes for a song we might make in the future.

Nonetheless, I had a good time chatting with all of them. It was nice knowing Rushia and Marine actually became girlfriends. It gave me a smile. It was also a surprise knowing Pekora and Miko came together. I both expected and never expected that, but...if they're happy, then I'm happy too. I wish them the bestest of luck!

And for dinner...I just cooked me some simple vegetables, added some meat, and then I also ate an apple after finishing dinner. Felt really full from it.

(Forgive me for I have never played Valorant, so I'll be making shit descriptions-)

"Shiro on the mic, Shiro on the beat, Shiro with the heat, everybody, thanks for coming to my stream! Yeah, and you know I got the heat, bro. What's my name? Ishijin Shiro!" I clapped very fast by striking my hand's fingers and my palms against each other alternately.

"Finally done with all the freestyling! As much as I love rap, sometimes I wanna chillax and do something else, you know? It can get boring after a while, so I gotta refresh before I get back, and in order to refresh, how about some good ol' FPS gaming? Especially Valorant. Time to flex to y'all my skills in Valorant." I giggled.

"LET'S GO!" I said.

And so, I started playing. First game was a normal game. I just headshot and killed teams, died a few times. Just the normal Valorant game.

The second game though, I was playing with some fellow Japanese fellows. Gotta admit. They're good. They were able to kill some guys. Albeit we would die, we do get some points. I was using Jett.

One time though, they got unlucky and blundered. They all died except for me who was in another area of the map. I was the only one left against 5 of them.

"Phew...damn. This is tense, but don't worry, Privates." I said as I roamed around the map.

"I won't die. I promise. I learned Piano and Calligraphy. That's more than enough to get me through this map-" I said as I started shooting a guy at the head.

I went and threw down a cloudburst to block a path, and I used updraft to fly into the air.

I looked around and saw another guy come in, to which I then headshot him.

"Another guy down-and another one down." I said as I happened to get shot but also countered with another headshot, leading to him dying.

I jumped and dashed to my left, seeing a guy coming from a corner, but I hid a bit to get out of his vision, just to then get my knives, and fired all blades at once.

Lastly, I just walked around for a couple seconds...just waiting for that guy to show up, knowing that he might've now known where I was.

"Oh...just watch me clutch, Privates. I will win this. I won't give this to the opponent." I said as I put another cloudburst down to block vision.

I finally went to a corner and waited for him to come out, just ready to shoot his head when it pops out.

"Yes, I'm a fucking CS:GO player, okay? This angle is crucial...!" I said in English and giggled.

"Cyka blyat. Kogda on Vuidyet? (Fucking hell, when's he gonna come out?)" I said in Russian.

"...BANG. Yep, that's done. We did it, Privates! Haha!" I tightened my vocal cords for that laugh and clapped.

"Hoowee. That was tense, but damn, luckily, I pulled out of that situation. Let's go!"

And the chat went like this:

"DAMNNNNN. HIS REACTION TIME IS TOO QUICK!"

"Wtf? I didn't even see him go out of the corner!"

"Dude literally just saw a pixel of his head peeking out the corner and just killed him wwwww"

"Eh?! Not even I could react that quick!"

"Dude's a living aimbot wwwww"

And so, I kept playing more Valorant, having fun, dying a couple times, but winning nonetheless.

"Yeah...I've seen some people in the chat talking about-" I got interrupted as I tried to shoot a guy, and I did, giving me a kill, and I went to another spot without reloading yet.

"-about my aim. No, I'm not actually using aimbot...that literally is my aim." I giggled.

"Um, to translate for you western bros, basically, some people, both Japanese and others alike, pointed out my aim's too good or I just somehow can shoot no matter the fucking placement or whatnot, saying that I'm using aimbot. You know, my deaths are good enough proof that I don't use aimbot. I literally practiced aiming a lot when I was doing Counter-Strike."

"Honestly, it's still not enough to ensure a 100% accurate aim. I'm just able to hit them most of the time. If you observed carefully-" I got interrupted again, shooting a guy, and killing him once more.

"-...you'll see that, at times, I actually don't get to be lucky enough to shoot where the head is at. That's why I couldn't get a few kills earlier. Motherfuckers were quick, boi." I giggled.

"Ah, we won. Nice."

"Alright...! Let's keep playing...maybe just one more game."

And so I did...but what are the chances? I happened to stumble upon something really great!

"H-Hello?" I heard in-game. He spoke English.

"Oh? Hey, what's up?" I replied.

"Uh...you mind if you watch my back?" He asked.

"Sure man. Do try to not die though. I'll cover ya." I said.

"Thanks."

We finally went somewhere, and I was camping with him.

"You speak good English." He said.

"Thank you. You too. Your accent doesn't sound American or something...Where you from?"

"I'm from Russia."

"Oh, Russia?"

"Yeah!"

"Ah, Privyet, tovarisch! (Hello, comrade!)"

"..BWAHAHA! WAIT, YOU CAN SPEAK RUSSIAN?!" He asked in his own native language.

"Yeah. I learned some Russian before. Used to visit there."

"Eh? Amazing! Who taught you?"

"Well...I'm mostly self-taught. I only asked some help sometimes from my mom, but most of it was just from reading and learning from the internet."

"Eh? Your mom knows Russian?"

"She's a polyglot."

"Oooh! Damn, that's cool man!" He said in English.

"Yeah...nice to know I could stumble upon people like you. This is cool as hell!"

"Yeah." He giggled.

And so we played. For a Valorant player, he's not bad. He actually is good. Able to get kills, support the team, and even escape situations.

The whole game ended with us saying our goodbyes, and I stopped the stream.

"Shiro on the mic, Shiro on the beat, Shiro with the heat, everybody, thanks for coming to my stream! Yeah, and you know I got the big dreams. Privates, I'mma see you all in the next stream!" I clapped.

And so...the stream ended.

"Phew...that's done…"

So, to recap today. Mel's now free, me and Aki finally worked on a song, and we have to do our parts well, and I finished streaming.

"Next up...a Getting Over It endurance stream until I get the gold pot."

Fucking hell, that'll be torture, but hey, I spedrun the game before, so I might be okay...?

"Anyway...time to sleep-"

I heard a certain ring on my computer. A very familiar ring that anybody would hear if they used Discord.

"Hmm? Oh, it's Marine...wait, how the fuck?"

She must've sent me a message by clicking on my profile in the Hololive server, then called me...but nonetheless, I'll accept it.

"Hello? Marine?"

"...C-Can you hear me?"

"Loud and clear. What's up?"

"Um...you see. Me and Rushia became girlfriends about a week ago…"

"Ah, I knew that. I heard that somewhere. What about it though?"

"Um...you know, these past couple days have been good...we've been hanging out. But uh...I feel like I'm not doing a good job being a girlfriend…"

"Oh? Like what? What happened to Rushia?"

"Well...sometimes, I might not be giving enough love, or that I might not be doing anything interesting. What can you say about that?"

"Hmm...by the way, why me? Couldn't there be anybody else?"

"Well...I heard that you had two girlfriends. From...Choco-sensei."

…Oh.

"...Oh."

"Hmm…yeah." She said.

"Well…#1 advice, definitely talk it out with her. You know, it's normal. Sometimes, couples can feel insecure, or they might want to know what the other partner is thinking about, so try talking with her. Have you done that?"

"Well...sorta? But…" She giggled a bit.

"But...I don't know. It doesn't feel natural for some reason."

"...Sigh. Of course. I forgot you never had a girlfriend or boyfriend ever in your life until now…"

Then again, I guess I can't blame her if she's still new to this "love" thing...

"You see, Marine. The first time you love each other, you are always wanting to look good for the other person. Hence, the reason why you're acting all insecure and stuff. I assure you, it's normal. However…"

"There is a reason why 'communication' exists. Like a husband and wife, they always talk to each other about finances, kids, plans, and all that. Same goes for couples. Talk to Rushia, and you can figure out a lot of stuff as well as getting closer. Trust me, it's natural."

"Second...just act like you're friends. Ironically, the more you try to act like a yandere, the more it'll feel rather depressing or 'off'. Besides, that's what leads to a toxic relationship of some sort. Just act like you two are just best friends hanging out, you know?"

"Other than that, just do what you like in the relationship. 'Cause what matters is your relationship with each other. After all, you two decided to have that relationship, and if it doesn't work out, no matter how much you think about it? Just break up. Sure, emotional damage will be done, but it's better to quit than to win a losing fight. You're asking this because you really want you and Rushia to stay together right?"

"Yeah…"

"Then do what it takes to make her happy. I'm sure Rushia feels the same way you do. Besides, like they always say: 'If they stand behind you, protect them. If they stand beside you, respect them. If they stand against you, defeat them.' Love Rushia like it's gonna be the death of you, even though that might sound sort of extreme." I chuckled.

Marine giggled a bit from my reply.

"Don't you think that's going a bit over the line?"

"Yeah...but it is true, Marine. Teamwork makes the dream work, after all, and in a relationship, it's all about communication."

"I see...thank you for the talk, by the way! I really appreciate it!"

"Mhmm. See ya." I said as she left the call, and so did I.

"Huh...relationships, huh?"

How did it feel like to have a girlfriend again, I wonder...? I still remember the smell and touch of my 2nd ex...hell, I remember the whole 1 month that we've been together, starting from that one encounter in the convenience store to the day that I blocked our contact.

"Man...I just hope their relationship does go well...having a lover of some sort is not easy at all…"

Subaru...wonder what it would be like to have a relationship with her? Now that I think about it, it's been a few years since the other Subaru, my brother-in-arms and my best friend, passed away, and Hanako still loves him like he's still here on the planet...I wish I could get a girlfriend like that one day.

"But what the fuck do I know about girls in the present time? For all I know, all the good fish apparently exist at the fucking 5th dimension, so why would I waste time looking for love in a place where it's impossible for me to find?"

I guess I'll just watch some Harry Mack and spend some time chillaxing before I go to sleep…

"Hmm...welp, I'll be making the music for me and Aki's song. Can't fail her now after talking with her about it."

Besides...I'm sure that girl remembers the melody.

"Other than that, I'll just have my peaceful breakfast and then get to work."

I am, after all, gonna be having the endurance stream this 8 AM JST.

"I also gotta wait for the right time where I can call Aki for the drums, since I need that sound for the song...Damn, I gotta finish stuff quickly 'cause this motivation can soon turn into laziness if I can't finish it fast.

And so I finished breakfast fast, and I went to my computer with just a boxer and an undershirt. Didn't take a shower yet 'cause I had to work on a draft for the music for me and Aki.

I don't think I mentioned it yet...the title of the song is called "Nagareboshi". It means "Shooting Star." As much as it sounds like Suisei, no, it's not about Suisei.

It's a song that relates to Aki in multiple levels. I also thought it's a song most people relate to, even me. That's why it took a long time making the lyrics, 'cause I had to translate my lyrics so that Aki could understand me, at the same time, I had to make sure what Aki's saying was correct.

Finally finished with the draft and also had to put reminders in the project that I had to ask Aki later to play the drum roll for the song. It then proceeded to me streaming Getting Over it.

"Shiro on the mic, Shiro on the beat, Shiro with the heat, everybody, thanks for coming to my stream! Yeah, and you know I got the heat, bro. What's my name? Ishijin Shiro!" I clapped.

"Today, we're gonna do an endurance stream where I'm gonna get the golden pot." I said as I started moving my mouse and launching myself off to the tree.

"As much as you all might be fussing if I might take 10 hours. Um...don't wanna jinx it, but I think it'll just take about 1 or 2 hours. As you all can see...I know how to speedrun the game." I giggled.

"Not very fast, but I can speedrun the game. That's why I have to torture myself mentally 50 times. Though, as I am speedrunning and focusing on the game. I would also like to chat with y'all. Feel free to hit me with some topics...but...I wanted to talk about...my EP!" I said as I finally stopped at the stair part.

"So...I'm really glad people are liking my EP. You know, I saw the comments, most of you are excited, and I'm also excited! It actually took me a few days to make the whole album, and it took a few more for the artist to finish the album cover. Shoutout to BerryVerrine for making it!"

"But yeah. I produced all the instrumentals and lyrics by myself. I would like to collaborate with some producers and beatmakers soon, but...I don't mind producing all my albums by myself. Besides, I do like the creative control I have when I do things all on my own. Although it's a bit hard and grueling, it's also fun." I chuckled.

"And I've also got pointed out about the track called '#SOUNDCLOUDRAPPER', since it had a very YA BE moan sound there. Don't worry, if it's published, Shinove gave me the thumbs up. I know he's weirded out in the inside, but I'm sure he's okay with it." I laughed.

"Yeah...oh, and also, I've seen some people point out stuff like 'Ah, where did he get this? Must be in an eroanime or something.' And uh…" I said as I stopped at the church part with the square-like roof.

"...I gotta confess right now, people...that moan isn't from a hentai. It's actually from Calli-" I clapped and laughed.

"AHAHA! YES, IT'S A FUCKING SAMPLE FROM CALLI, OKAY?! IT'S NOT A HENTAI, BUT FROM A HOLOLIVE SENPAI!"

"Um...this actually came from a clip about a stream that Gura and Calli did in Minecraft. Basically, Gura was like 'I need to get some wood to make a shield', and RIGHT BEFORE SHE WAS GONNA FINISH THE SENTENCE, Calli did a 'Guh!~'." I laughed once more.

"Um…as far as I remember, the name of the clip that I sampled is something along the lines of 'Gura is surprised by Calli's Guh'. Just watch that clip, and you'll see what I mean."

And when the chat found this new discovery, boy...I was prepared for mayhem.

"OOOHHH, WAIT UNTIL CALLI SEES THIS! LMAOOOOOO"

"Lol. He's dead if the Shinigami dad hears about this."

"Ey. Privates, you all know the drill…MAKE THIS TRENDING!"

"CLIPPERS, CLIP IT QUICKLY!"

"Huh...That did not sound like Calli when I first heard it."

And so, I kept doing Getting Over It. By the time I did my 12th try, I got a red superchat amidst the 2k viewers watching.

"...Oh? A red superchat. 'Shiro, Ganbatte! Me and my girlfriend are watching your stream right now, and it's so amazing how you can always finish it under 2-3 minutes'...ah, really? Nice! Never knew couples existed within my Privates." I giggled.

"But a girlfriend, huh...? Man, that takes me back to my younger days…"

"I wish the best for your future, dear Private! It's very wholesome that you're watching this together with her…"

The chat asked a couple questions. Mainly, "Wait...you had a girlfriend?"

"...Yeah. I think I won't sugarcoat or try to be a bit passive. I'll just be transparent and say that I've had two girlfriends in the past...Though, let's not try to get too serious here." I giggled.

"Um...my first girlfriend prolly never counted. It was just a day, then we broke up." I snickered.

"Ahaha…yeah...my second though lasted longer, but only for a month."

"I fell in love with both of the girls because of their appearance. It only took me until like 2 weeks until I started liking my 2nd ex's personality. Never will I commit the same mistake for a third time if I get another one. But uh...right now, I'm not looking for a girl..yeah." I giggled for a short moment.

"...'Why did you break up?' Um...that's a bit too personal." I laughed a bit.

"...Well, at least for my 2nd ex-girlfriend. For my 1st, well...I got broken up with just because I was a soldier." I laughed.

"Jeez...actually, to be specific...she broke up with me, not because I was a soldier, but because...at that time, I actually...you know...sent people to the afterlife with my gun? That's why she broke up with me the next day. It's because of that." I laughed again and clapped once more.

"Ah...it sorta isn't a thing to laugh at, but...you know, I don't think it's too bad that I got broken up with after a day. Besides...I mean, when a soldier serves his country, he has to do what he has to do, even if he has to do the most unimaginable things. But hey, I'm past that now. I'm happy just relaxing, playing, and just seeing the chat lively…"

"Though, I would be lying if I said that I didn't sort of enjoy my time with my 2nd ex. Gotta admit, that was like...one of the best months of my life. Although the end of it was shit, the whole month was nice...You know, I learned a lot of things, and especially about women. Not just about what to look out for, but also their value."
