The night was a quiet monster lurking in the darkness, as if it was going to devour everything.
Ford seemed to be furious. He smiled evilly and said, "The validity of the agreement is up to me. If I said it's valid, then it is."
"Should I remind you?" He added and raised his eyelids and coldly mocked, "Weren't you the one who tempted me first? Who collected a bottle of fireflies and said that she would never leave me after making a wish on them? Who blocked me again and again? Who?..."
Julia had indeed done those things. She could not refute that she loved him miserably and had done many stupid things just to attract his attention. She thought that as long as she gave enough, one day Ford would fall in love with her.
Now she realized that she was so stupid and ignorant.
Her immature but sincere love was not worth a penny because she gave it to a wrong person.
"I was immature at that time. Who had never loved a wrong person? Forget about it. I've already forgotten."
Ford grinded his teeth and said, "You forgot? You were immature?"
Julia nodded seriously though it was against her will.
Forgot? How could she forget it? She just hid it so deeply that she thought she had forgotten.
People might think she cared about nothing, but she was in fact very sensitive and fragile. When she faced with him, she couldn't help being self—contempt.
Like a bird chasing after the sun, she could never catch up with the dazzling light even with all her strength. Instead, she broke her own wings.
"I liked you," Julia said calmly. "But it was all in the past. Now my heart has no place for you."
She couldn't have any expectation. She wasn't tough enough. She also had feelings.
Being injured more or less, she had once hid in a corner and shed tears. After licking her wounds alone, she would become the silly girl who risked her life for love again.
Ford didn't believe it and tried to subdue his anger, "Stop that. I didn't know that woman in the club. If you cannot get over this, should I ask what's going on between you and Mark?"
His tone was still lofty. Julia had done many stupid things for him. Even though she repeated it again and again, he didn't believe that she really wanted to leave him.
Unfortunately, she couldn't explain it to him. She had foreseen their ending and decided to live as she wanted when she woke up.
She refute calmly, "He was not implicated in this. Mark was like my younger brother. Don't be so nasty."
"Not implicated? That will be the best. Otherwise, he would pay the price."
He narrowed his eye threateningly, and the mole beneath moved slightly. Suddenly he looked so aggressive.
Ford used to be calm and cold, but now he acted aggressively. They had a wrong start of the conversation, so they attacked each other with words without feeling regret.
Julia was so angry that she couldn't help trembling. She stared at him with red eyes. "Ford, there's no one else here. Let's stop acting. I'm so tired and I don't want to play anymore!"
Once she started to blame him, she couldn't stop.
"Obviously you didn't like me. Don't you think it's hypocritical to act like this now?"
"Or do you enjoy doing this? Playing cool when someone liked you so much?"
"What a pity. The game is over. The protagonist has woken up and refused to act."
Ford was smiling without sincerity. His smile was like a knife made of ice, which could pierce through his enemy's heart.
He stared at Julia for a while and said, "Then prove it to me."
Julia was a little dumbfounded. She was too eager to let off her steam without considering what she just said.
It really felt so good to vent her anger on this dodgy man.
However, when she stopped, she was a little terrified by his creepy and cold eyes.
It was at night and they were now in a remote place. Would she be beaten to death in a gunny sack?
The background music of "Curse Grudge" was played in her head. The title of the latest news also occurred to her: "What made him lose his mind and kill his wife!"
She looked into his eyes. They fell silent.
Mixed feelings were haunting in Ford's heart.
He leaned over and fiercely pulled her towards him. His other hand forced her head forward so she couldn't escape.
Julia glared at him and tried to push him away. She pursed her lips tightly to stop him from invading.
Ford had already lost his mind. He pinched her chin firmly and forced her to open her mouth.
Julia could not bear it and let go of her lips, letting out a small cry of pain. By then he intruded successfully.
Her eyes were wet due to the stimulation. She pushed him with all her strength. Her curses were blocked by his tongue.
He was like a ferocious beast intending to gobble up his prey. It was impossible for him to let go of her.
The strong wind was slamming against the ajar window. The shadows of the trees on both sides were overlapping and swaying on the glass.
Julia suddenly stopped struggling.
Isn't he just trying to prove that she still loves him by stimulating her? She would prove that he was wrong.
Ford noticed her changes. He didn't want to give up. Instead, he was eager to bite her tongue heavily without any tenderness due to her reaction.
But he subdued his urge. He didn't want to hurt her.
However, as soon as he stopped kissing her, he was bitten. The bite marks on his arm were deep and red with a few blood droplets oozing out.
Unlike him, she had no hesitation in attacking him and venting all her resentment on him.
Julia said calmly, "This is how I prove it." Since you took advantage of me, you deserved to be bitten. We were in the clear now.
Ford's thin lips tensed up and he remained silent. His gaze at her was sharp, as if it was going to pierce through her.
Being looked strictly, Julia gradually lost her confidence and started to feel uncomfortable.
She sighed and said, "If you think I was insulting you, you could insult me back. As long as you feel satisfied, I don't care what you do to me. After all, I've already gotten used to it for so many years. I could bear it!"
Ford asked, "Insult? Get used to it?"
He was confused.
Good day, everyone! I know I am not good at writing and I admit I don't have that much skills either. So, yeah you could find some loopholes and poor background of the story and characters. But I am really trying my best to work on it. Also this is my very first time writing... Thanks a lot again.
