Frederick and Carlily were frantically running through the house, grabbing food and water, clothing, potions, and weapons to defend themselves with.
"The animals," Carlily said with a sudden gasp, "what about them? He'll slaughter them," she said, her hand over her mouth.
Instead of using a traditional sack or regular chest to pack their things, they were packing the essentials into an ender chest. It was already halfway full, the lid being left wide open to make the packing process continue at a faster rate.
Some time ago, Frederick and Carlily, had traded their one and only Mooshroom Cow to a wandering villager. It was the only one of its kind, an extremely rare breed of cow. What did they receive in return, you ask? Two ender chests. Was this a fair trade? One might say yes, while the other might disagree. It was an offer they couldn't pass up. They traded the Mooshroom Cow for the chests because they could come in handy one day. Who would've thought that today would be the day? Neither of them could've predicted this would happen.
After King Miraz left the farm yesterday morning, Frederick and Carlily both had to scramble to find gold to pay their dues. After hours of ravaging through nearby caves and ravines, they returned to the farm empty handed.
The King was surely on his way, expected to arrive any moment. He was nice enough to give them time to come up with their dues. That alone in itself was something they were grateful for. In the past, he wasn't so nice and cooperative. Frederick and Carlily have strugged. Frederick struggles to bring his writing to the market, muchless the OverWorld; a struggling author. Carlily, however, has seen some success with her floral business. Going to the Worldwide Farmer's Market twice a year to sell her one-of-a-kind roses, daisies, and lily's of the valley's.
"Food, water, clothing, and weapons," Frederick said as he gave the house a through last examination, then sighing heavily. He rubbed his forehead as he looked down at the floor.
Carlily stopped what she was doing temporarily, glancing to her left over at Frederick. She frowned when she saw the expression on his face. He was angry and depressed.
"We've lost everything," Frederick said with a long sigh.
Carlily put a loaf of bread wrapped in a red blanket into the ender's chest. She sighed lightly as she walked over to him, resting her hand on his back. They stood side by side, Frederick leaning in to rest his head on her shoulder.
"We let our son go who knows where, we couldn't find gold. We're going to lose our farm," Frederick muttered as he sniffled. It was odd to see Frederick acting this way. For a man, he surely was acting elsewise. What's that saying? The one where a male blockhead is the head of the household? The brave, the noble, the protector of his family? That one. The failures of his past are all coming back to him, further fueling his depression.
Carlily gently pushed him away from her. She couldn't bare see him in this mental state. She put her hand under his chin, raising his head so he was now looking over at her.
"You're wrong," she said with a sudden change in her tone. Sounding more serious and optimistic. Hopeful even. She was reassuring. Shaking her head, she continued talking.
"This… what we've been through, isn't lost forever dear," she began explaining to him, "what's lost will always be found. Our house, this farm, our son. We're going to be okay. Everything will be okay."
Faint neighing sounds were heard from outside suddenly. They both looked to their right and out the front window. Coming up over the hill, the King and his guards came riding on their horses. Their horses were armored for protection, and so was the King and his gaurds. The galloping horses rode closer. Then, just a few seconds later, they stopped. The King remained on his horse, while his guards jumped down from theirs.
Two guards stayed behind, while two began walking up to the house. Carlily panicked as she ran over to ender chest. Grabbing the lid, she slammed it shut. The guard began pounding on the door.
"Frederick and Carlily, open up," he shouted, his tone slightly muffled.
Carlily leaned over slightly, whispering something to the ender chest. Frederick looked at her and then out the window; continuously repeating that action.
"Open up!" The guard demanded again.
In the clouds above, in a place where the Gods and Goddesses live, a Goddess had been surveying the lands of the OverWorld below. She had long blonde hair, a golden glowing halo over her head, and was wearing a short white dress; wearing no shoes but being barefoot.
"Victoria don't," Wynter, the leading Goddess, "don't go."
Victoria turned around, frowning and crossing her arms angrily. Wynter took a step forward, holding her hand out in front of her.
"We mustn't interfere," Wynter said, "we must remain loyal to our code."
Victoria rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"The code is outdated," Victoria said as she unfolded her arms, holding them out straight on eachside. Leaning back, she fell backwards. Wynter ran over to the edge of the cloud, looking down at Victoria as she freefell.
Down at the farm below, Carlily had told the ender chest to go to the Desert Biome and wait for them. She also told it to remain hidden, to only reveal itself when Frederick and Carlily came in close distance from where it would end up.
"Open up!" The guard shouted again, pounding harder and louder. "Last chance!"
Quintin, the new King of the OverWorld, sast on his horse, watching his guard trying to be civil with Frederick and Carlily.
"The King has returned to collect pay–," the guard was explaining as the ground suddenly rumbled and shook.
A bright white light blinded Quintin and the guards. Victoria landed on the ground, which was what caused it to rumble and shake. The horses were frightened, jumping up onto their back legs, flailing their front legs around.
A bright yellow light soon followed a short while after Victoria landed. Only this light appeared inside the farmhouse. The light dimmed and went away eventually, revealing Wynter. She was dressed in the same clothing as Victoria. Only she had brown hair and green eyes.
"Take my hand," Wynter said as she held her hand out. Frederick and Carlily both took a step back from her. They had the slightest clue as to who she was, muchless her name. She didn't have a halo over her head like Victoria.
"Take my hand," she repeated, "I truly mean no harm. But those blockheads outside do. Let me take you somewhere safe, please."
Outside, Quintin had fallen off his horse, landing on his back on the ground. The two guards by him helped him up onto his feet. He brushed off his golden chestplate armor. The two guards grabbed an arrow out from the quiver behind their back.
"Hold your fire," Quintin demanded. "Those won't do."
"My King?" A guard questioned.
Victoria threw her arm forward in a forward motion. Doing that, a strong gust of wind suddenly began blowing in their direction. It went so fast, that Quintin and his guards were blown away, tumbling back down the hill they had come up moments earlier. This was further fueling Quintin's rageful and cruel attitude.
Back inside, Wynter had proven herself a safe entity. Frederick and Carlily were now convinced of her assittive attitude. She really did mean no harm. Maybe they wouldn't have acted scared if they'd known more about the Gods and Goddesses of the OverWorld. Should the code the Gods and Goddesses follow be changed? Why aren't they supposed to interfere with ground-based events? Aren't they supposed to protect the OverWorld from blockheads like Quintin and his father?
Another yellow light flashed inside the house. Just as the guard kicked in the door to storm into the house, he quickly realized that Frederick and Carlily had escaped. Turning around and running back outside, he announced his findings to Quintin.
"They– the– they're gone, your majesty," one guard stated.
It took him a moment to realize that they weren't there. That they were gone. Victoria had turned around. When she did, the guard froze, beginning to shake and chatter his teeth. She smiled and tilted her head, then waving her right hand over to the left. The guard went flying into the air, screaming and shouting and yelling.
Frederick and Carlily and Wynter had blipped into a dense Woodlands Forest. Nearby, a bright white light was shining. Wynter let go of their hands, walking over to the light. Standing in front of it, she waved her hand at them. Signaling to them to come over to her.
As they made their way over to her, Victoria blipped into the Forest too. Frederick and Carlily jumped due to being startled.
"What–what is that?" Carlily questioned as she looked away from it and over at Victoria. "Why's it so bright?"
Without saying anything, Wynter smiled. Frederick and Carlily briefly looked at eachother, before following after Victoria. Only a short distance ahead, they saw something remarkably strange. These blocks were of nothing they hadn't seen before… until now.
"This is a portal," Wynter mumbled, "a portal to somewhere where you'll be safe. Somewhere where the King can't get to. Go there."
"A portal to where?" Carlily questioned.
Walking up to them from behind, Victoria answered their question. Wynter briefly glanced over at her, silently staring at her. Victoria could see the frustration reflecting in her eyes back at her.
"SkyWorld," Victoria said.
She disappeared, with her light shining bright and then dimming once she was gone. It all happened so fast, that if you blinked you'd miss her departure.
SkyWorld huh?Frederick thought, "interesting."
