Chapter 15: ambush

As I walked through the dimly lit alleyways, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was being followed. I turned around, but no one was there. I picked up my pace, but the footsteps behind me quickened as well. Suddenly, three figures emerged from the shadows, blocking my path.

"Who are you? What do you want?" I demanded.

"We're here for you, Mikazuki," one of them said, grinning menacingly.

I didn't recognize any of them, but I knew I had to defend myself. I had my fighting experience on my side, and I wasn't about to go down without a fight. I positioned myself in a fighting stance and waited for their first move.

They charged at me, but I was ready. I dodged their attacks and countered with precise punches and kicks. I knocked out the first two easily, but the third one was tougher. He was stronger and more skilled, but I refused to give up. I blocked his moves and landed a powerful uppercut, sending him to the ground.

As I caught my breath, I searched the attackers for any clues about why they were following me, but found nothing. I knew I couldn't stay there for long, as the authorities might show up soon. I quickly made my way back to my apartment, wondering who these people were and why they were after me.
