Prologue Race Part 1

As I get closer to Aki, I swerve and get left to get next to his quarter panel but before I could pass, I get forced to slow down because there's heavy traffic ahead in my lane leaving me nowhere to go, my car doesn't have the power either to make the overtake fast enough and take Aki's lane, so I back off for now and get back to Slipstreaming him. Because I slowed down like this, Aki starts getting away from me. Taking a look at the rearview mirror, I see that Catalina got in my lane behind me and is getting closer. "Uhh... Catalina? Can I get a slight bump from the back? I'm falling behind a bit..." I say on the radio. "Yeah... No. My splitter is too low and long, not good for bump drafting, I'll hit your tires. That's sub-ideal." Catalina replies as she swerves to the right lane and passes me with a smirk. "LIKE HELL IT IS! GET SOME BETTER EXCUSES OR SOMETHING!" I say calmly with my mic muted.

Well great then, I'm in dead last now, looks like I'll have to pay for everything they order. Overtaking is gonna be hard once we get off the highway since it's rush hour here at 8 o' clock. Great time to street race, I know.

Of course, Catalina knows this as well and is actively looking for a chance to overtake Aki before we exit the highway and get onto the busy city roads. Catalina gets closer and closer on the increasing highway traffic before swerving onto the right lane and overtaking Aki.

We approach the off ramp and slow down to take the exit. Catalina does a subtle 4 wheel drift as she gets off the highway. The angle of the slide is low enough to not produce any smoke from the tires but enough to be requiring some counter steer. I decide to flex my better stopping power on Aki and brake later getting right next to his door just to be annoying as we enter the one lane wide, or rather the one and a half lane wide off ramp.

It had enough space to accommodate our two cars going side by side although both of us were very close to the barrier. Despite me having the inside line, I get a better exit of that corner.

"Hey Aki, why don't we gang up on Cat and make her finish dead last?". I say

"As the famous phrase goes, 'Ladies first'. So don't do that." Catalina barges in.

"As the famous phrase goes, 'bros before hoes', so I certainly will." Aki replies with a smirk on his face.

That was an epic comeback if I do say so myself. Looks like I'm gonna be working with Aki here. Shortly after exiting the highway, we're all forced to stop on an intersection because traffic's blocking us on a red light.

"So we got two options here, we either take the shorter route through the city; risk being stuck in traffic leading to taking roundabout routes, or we take the longer route through the mountain pass and just hope it won't have much traffic." Aki says.
