Spoils Of War

Jayden got to his room while pondering on the Asuras weird announcement.

"A high warrior. What does that even mean? That guy's got to have a loose screw in his head." Unperturbed, Jayden hurried to the point needed to get into the hotel, he got past the Cyclops by showing him his participation token.

The Cyclops' acknowledged its genuity and let him through, Jayden had realized that the token wasn't just proof of his participation in the tournament, but it also gave him access to some restricted areas.

The hotel wasn't a restricted area, but it wasn't normal for just any human to go in and out, the Cyclops knew that, and Jayden knew that too.

As soon as Jayden entered the tower, he teleported and reached the reception, he noticed that the robot which was usually off until someone stepped passed the mark, was active and was staring around.

Jayden ignored this new behaviour and began to navigate towards his room, the large expanse of the hotel wasn't as confusing as the first time he got here, but he was taking unnessary turns and bends to get to his room.

[We are being followed]

'I know, I'm trying to throw whoever or whatever it is off.' Jayden replied with a stoic expression. 'I don't know why were being followed, but I don't think it's for a good reason.'

Jayden took a turn and slowly began to release his Illusion Energy from his pores, the intangible energy spread out and covered the area of ten meter radius around him. Jayden then actively controlled what he wanted the Energy to do.

He hadn't done this during the Battle Royale because it consumed more energy than just releasing it without giving a command. That led to it just toying with the mind of the victims and making them see things, but now that Jayden had given a command, his energy that he had managed to recover was depleting twice as fast to maintain the orders.

Behind him, an invisible Gecko Kin was crawling on the walls with practised expertise, making no sound. It took a peek at Jayden and sniffed the air before crawling with its claws, it had a humanoid shape and greatly resembled a Lizard Man, claws, sharp teeths, hard green scales and a long tail.

Jayden meanwhile was already at the end of the hallway, he took a look behind him to see how good his tactics worked. Upon seeing the gecko's state, he had the urge to start laughing out loud at the pitiful creature.

The gecko stood in front of a wall and was staring deeply at it as if trying to discern its origins, it crawled to the ceiling, to the wall opposite the one it came from, to the ground, and back to the first wall, now it was going in circles with a focused look on its face that didn't look like it could be easily broken.

Jayden laughed and began to walk away. 'Just a simple sentence, 'Confuse him', and he subconsciously deactivated his invisibility and doesn't know the difference between his left right front and back.

On getting to his room, Jayden walked in casually, the two students still hadn't returned. 'They still haven't returned, well that's good for me.'

If only Jayden knew, that he had sent one of the two students into a coma, and had traumatized the other. He would know why they hadn't returned.

Jayden sat and began to cultivate, to replenish his used up energy. "Ahhh, it's so much easier this way, I don't have to use new crystals each time I use up my energy."

A few hours later, Jayden had fully prepared himself, he released his Illusion Energy and used it to cover the whole room. All the cameras, both seen and hidden were soon obstructed by a veil and hid Jaydens figure. X-ray cameras, Infrared cameras, Heat signature cameras and all other types of cameras were malfunctioning, but Jayden didn't care.

Jayden opened the Void Space and found himself in the dark void. As he entered, he felt a subtle connection with the Void Space, it was little, but it was there.

Ignoring the feeling, Jayden stared at the pile of bodies, armours and weapons littered on the ground.

Most of the bodies belonged to Zanarians and were mostly intact, the rest belonged to different races.

Jayden picked up the body of a Zanarian, he ignored the feeling he had when he touched the body and pulled off the hood covering its face, Jayden gasped, there wasn't a face, just a smooth pale mannequin like head.

Jayden dropped the scary looking thing and backed away. "This bodies are fake, Was I tricked in anyway?"

[Sigh! The bodies aren't fake]

[That's how Zanarians look, they hide it with their clothing to not scare off people]

"So how do they breathe, see and hear?"

[Your are about to find out, now harvest their cores]

Jayden pulled himself together, summoned the Rogue Suit and used his sharp claws to tear the clothing, and flesh of the Zanarian, following Nahshons guidance, he finally retrieved the core that was situated beside its heart.

Jayden almost dropped it when he saw its look, it was a green crystal that glowed faintly in the dark expanse of the Void Space. There was an eye on it though, there were green veins on it which were connected with the crystal and pulsated, while pumping a green mass through it, the eyeball followed his every movements no matter where he put it. The unnerving sight made him want to destroy it, but Nahshon's persuasion and he remembering Nate's state, made him stop, he placed it aside and began to work on the remaining bodies.

Jayden cut out core after core, until a small mountain of them was made beside him, he had killed a fare share of Zanarians, but some were not his kill, he had discretely stolen the bodies under the nose of everyone.

He piled the sixty-two or so cores and placed them aside, Nahshon took it from there and they vanished, taken to a safer place.

Jayden sighed after feeling the gaze of the numerous eyes dispersing. He turned to the remaining bodies and began to sort them out, he felt like a butcher with a perverted love for bodies arranging his collection.

Soon the rows of bodies were separated from the weapons, armours and accessories.

"Time to test out this beauties." Jayden said, as he stared at a really large war hammer that was glowing and releasing intense heat.
