Evolution Paths

Jayden sat on the ground cultivating for close to three hours. The more energy he got, the longer it took him to recover to his peak, adding the fact that he needed to heal the Ape King, it took him longer.

He had achieved half of his objective, the Ape King was tasked to gather the Energy Orbs of the apes that had died during their fight.

The Ape King was able to understand that much and carry out the task easily, he was a Sovereign Tier Beast so his intelligence was like that of a ten year old.

The Orbs were gathered and placed in the void space for safe keeping.

Most of the Energy Orbs were Intermediate Tier and only about sixteen were of the Evolved Tier, so he needed to hunt more beasts.

The other seventy two Energy Orbs were of the Intermediate Tier and a few were Basic Tier.

Jayden healed the Ape King's swollen face, he didn't like it one bit, he was holding a grudge against a beast that was serving him, quite childish, but he knew that he needed the beast more than he hated it.

After healing the Ape King, Jayden glanced at the area one last time, the pools of lava were going to harden very soon, and the wall were going to be smoothened over time.

Jayden left the area with Kong in tow, he couldn't place him in the Void Space yet because it was still as hot as hell.

Yes, the Ape King was a fire type beast and had resistance to intense heat, but Jayden didn't know if another explosion might occur, which would definitely kill the Ape King, he couldn't loose him yet.

Besides, he didn't know what might happen if Kong stayed too close to Draven's cocoon. Better safe than sorry.

The duo traveled through the deep canyon without any particular destination, Jayden's Energy Scan was constantly on and scanning the area.

There were now two blue dots on the scanner, he and Kong, they mostly saw Basic and Intermediate Tier beasts, but those beasts immediately fled when they felt their presence.

Jayden was sure that Evolved Tier Beasts were able to sense them from a farther range and also run before they encountered them, that was why they were having a hard time finding them.

Jayden tried pouring more energy into the Energy Scan to increase the range, though it did increase the range, it wasn't noteworthy and his energy was being drained thrice as fast. So Jayden had to resort to only pouring more energy into it once in a while.

In the meantime while they searched, Nahshon was briefing him on some information he retrieved.

[Beasts have something called Evolution Paths, they focus on a singular Path of Evolution that they are more attuned to and try to evolve with it]

[It starts from the Basic Tier, they start to grow in that Path of Evolution and show some of the powers of the path, the same thing happens in the Intermediate Tier, and when the reach the Evolved Tier, they solidify that path and their body becomes more in tune with its perks, when they reach the Sovereign Tier, they receive the full power of that path and then they begin their real training, to bring out the best benefits of it]

[For example, do you remember that Ape that you blew into pieces]

"No."

[IDIOT!!! DID YOU EVEN THINK?]

"No."

[You're so annoying]

"I know right?"

[As I was saying, whether you remember the ape or not, that's your problem. The ape followed the path of Primordial Strength, that's why it didn't have a single wisp of flame on it, but it's strength, speed and defence was able to rival an Evolved Tier even if it was just a Basic Tier Beast]

"Ehhh!!!.....That ape.... was a Basic Tier Beast?" Jayden stopped in his tracks and stared into space.

The black Ape that Jayden had blown into smithereens turned out to be a Basic Tier beast, Jayden remembered seeing it crush the beasts that were in its way easily and reach him in no time, yet that beast was just Basic Tier, so how strong will it be if it was a Sovereign Tier beast. Jayden shuddered at that thought.

[The Paths of Evolution is something that all beast must have if they want to survive]

[Your Ape King has taken the path of the FireBorn Demon, so his control over his Hell Fire should increase over time]

Jayden resumed his walk with a thoughtful expression on his face. 'Do you know what path Draven took?'

[If my data is correct, he should have taken two paths]

'Uhh! How?'

[Demons are known to not just have good control over the elements that they awaken with, but also their monstrous strength, the Ascending Fallen Angel that you faced wasn't an elemental type, it was able to overpower you with its strength, and Draven had absorbed most if its Demonic Energy]

"So his original Elemental Path and the Fallen Angels Strength Path have merged!! "

[Yes]

"That makes me want to save him more." Jayden clenched his fists and said with a resolve filled face. "I'm coming Draven."

[And just like you said, there are only three paths known for now, The Elemental Path, The Strength Path and The Control Path]

"Kong took the Elemental Path right?"

[Yes, why do you ask?]

"Aren't his flames too weak for a Sovereign Tier beast? I mean they are really hot, but...you know."

[They will get stronger over time, he just needs time and resources]

"Wha... "

[And before you ask what resources, I mean resources that will make his Fire Affinity stronger and his Hell Fire stronger too]

[Those resources are called natural treasures and can be found in places with extreme environments]

"Extreme environments?"

[Extreme environments are places with abundance of a particular natural element]

[Example, Planet Orænos is filled with Water and Ice, so there will be Water and Ice type natural treasures, Planet Euphoria is filled with Plants and Life, so there would be Plant and Life type natural treasures in it, Plane....]

"FINALLY!!!"

[Hmm....]

"I've found an Evolved Tier Beast." Jayden said as he eyed a sleeping beast a hundred meters away from him.
