The bald man approached Derek, only to be stopped by a short man of average build.
He was a rank 8 (Supreme) who was at the pinnacle of his rank, giving him the strength to match a level one soul commander.
"Orders haven't been given. You have no right to hit the kid."
To these men, who were easily over two hundred years old, Derek was just a kid.
"Lucky brat." The bald man scowled and vanished.
"You're a tough kid. I thought I was too late, but a word of advice: The capital and some strongholds aren't safe for you. Stay out of sight until this dies down," the Xerathian man said and vanished.
"Derek, are you okay?" Li Mei fell on her knees, cradling the man who coughed while he lay in the middle of a wrecked building. "A… are you hurt?" she stuttered, tears running down her cheeks while her eyes shone with hatred toward the bald man.
