Abused

This place. This house. This love, ugh who am I kidding this isn't love this is abuse. The only reason why I stay is because he has something on me. I'm actually an immigrant from Barbados and he's using it against me so I can be his wife and.... I guess I don't have a choice.

"Monifa, get down here now!" With that my eyes shot open from my sleep.

"I'm coming babe" I ran down the stairs as fast as I could. "You called me bab-" "Where the hell is my breakfast?!" "I'm sorry I worked late last night so I- I came home at 2:30 in the morni-" SMACK!  I hissed in pain after his hand came in contact with my left cheek. Usually a tear would roll down me cheek but sadly I'm getting used to it. "I'm don't wanna see your face right now!" He turned to leave "wait were are you goi-" he cuts me of "out!" and with that he slammed the door and left.

Cody left and he isn't coming back until noon. So I cleaned the house, took a shower got dressed in the most casual clothes that cody got me.

I started to prepare dinner early so that I won't get into trouble with Cody later. Then I heard the doorbell ring. I opened the door and I saw a man....nope not a man...but...may I say? a god?

I stood there staring at him. His dark brown hair, his bright green eyes, tanned skin and stubble that made him look even hotter. "Helloooo?" He said waving is hand near my face.

"h-hi I'm so sorry" I said as I began to blush and look down embarrassed. "I'm not being rude or anything but who are you?" I asked "I'm Felix I just moved here and I wanted to greet my all my new neighbours" he said with a friendly smile.

"That's sweet of you to do." I said trying not to grin like an idiot. "But that's all I wanted to say and if you need anything I'm right next door". He leaves and then I shut the door.

I somehow just thought of the dark room that Cody told me not to go into but I'm interested about what he's hiding from me. I knew where he hid the key to that door so I took it and unlocked the door I' turned on the light and saw a room with a desk, walls painted red and documents marked "My privates"  it definitely caught my eye and I picked it up and opened it. My eyes widened in disbelief and fear as I saw my birth certificate and passport it was... American.

I quickly took them and hid them under the mattress. I was still shocked and questioning who I was the birth certificate said Monifa McClain. But, Where is my family? Who am I? And What's my past?. Questions flow through my my head and tears came to my eyes as I realized that... I'm trapped and I don't know where to go.

BANG!!! BANG!!!  Suddenly I heard someone at the door sounded like Cody I quickly turned off the light, locked the door and put the key back. I let Cody in and he seemed angry as always.

"Where's my food?" He asked with no emotion. "It's right over there on the table" he passed me and went into our bedroom and then into the "forbidden room" a few minutes later he stormed out of the room walking towards me in anger. "Where is it?" He asked gritting his teeth. "What are you talking about?" he grabbed my neck with both hands.

I tried to pick up the closest thing to me as possible, it was a vase. I grabbed it and smashed it across his head and ran out of the house trying to breathe as I heard his scream in anger and pain. Then suddenly her starts running towards me and I ran to the nearest house banging on the door. "Please help!!!" "HELP!! Let me in!!" Then I saw cody running towards and grabs my hand. "You're gonna regret that." "No please someone help m-".  "SMACK!" Cody slapped me once again except the first one wasn't as painful as this one. Suddenly the door swung open and someone strong gripped my other arm and pulled me in the house, I shut the door and immediately locked it, then I heard Cody shout "you'll be mine monifa, you have to be." "Are you ok?" I didn't answer I just looked up and I saw Felix. "Where's your family?"

"I...." I choked on the words as I felt a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. "I....I don't even know who I am."
