CHAPTER 8
Knock. Knock.
"Duke Alyssum, the crown prince…" a maid knocked on the door, before she finished her sentence the door burst open.
Thud!
"Lil…" The man who opened the door widened his green eyes in shock and disbelief. The maid hurriedly bowed her head to avoid seeing the obscene pose of the two. Meanwhile, Lexus didn't budge on his position. He shamelessly stared at the crown prince with a smirk. This made the man standing on the entrance lose his temper.
"How dare you! You bastard!" Lily frowns in annoyance at the *dog in the church. She didn't expect him to arrive early.
The blonde haired teenager was fuming mad at what he witnessed. Lexus left hand was inside her skirt and the other one grope the woman's breast. His head buried in the crook of Lily's neck.
"I'll remove you from your position as a Vice-captain!" Amaranth Edelweiss, the crown prince of the empire, was known to be a kind, helpful and smart. Before he became the crown prince, he studied medicine and achieved the highest rank of knights, the title general. He was skilled and easy to learn and adapt to his surroundings. His mother told him that he will get what he wants and no one will reject him, which he stupidly believed.
Amaranth was excelled in swordsmanship, the best physician, and in terms of power and knowledge he won't be left out. People praise for his achievements and handsome features. Women would flock around him and often made advances but as a man devoted to the woman he loves, Amaranth refused them, saying he already loved someone and that someone doesn't know he loved her or maybe don't have any feelings for him and that woman was Lily.
Lily who heard it spoke like it had nothing to her, but the words conveyed her ownership to Lexus. "Crown prince, do what you want, just don't kill him. His mine." While removing Lexus' hands that touched her sacred parts.
She freed herself and called the stiff maid, bowing her head in an exaggerating manner. "Primrose help me change." The maid look up and walk towards her master obediently.
Lexus, who stood there, missed the woman's warmth. If it's not a royalty who interrupted their session, he was sure Lily would have beheaded that person without second thoughts. He knew Lily hated to be entangled with the *blue bloods, so she didn't react at all.
"Greetings to the crown prince." He greeted the prince with a mocking tone.
Amaranth, whose patience thinned as time passed, can't help saying hurtful words to the man. "If I were you, keep that dirty hands to yourself. Remember, you're just a beggar. You don't have the position to touch her. If that thing of yours stand up, crawl your way to the brothels. Call yourself a knight, you don't deserve it nor do you deserve to be near her."
The word 'beggar' hurts his pride more than the rest, he said. Yes, he was a beggar before the landlord took him to protect Lily. But so what? Lily doesn't even care if he is a beggar and that what matters, not another person's words. Lexus knew that the crown prince wants him to make wrong. It's not the first time, though, the blonde idiot always find ways to irritate him. For sure, his jealousy cracked that perfect image he had long built.
"Are you saying the duke is dirty? I touched her not just once, but many times. So is that what the crown prince is referring." Not a question, but a conclusion.
When Amaranth heard him said those vulgar words like it's normal, especially when he said he touched her many times, irked him a lot. His felt something on his chest, it hurts. He knew it was jealousy. His clearly jealous to the facts that Lily had that kind of relation to Lexus. "What?! Imbecile! You better shut your mouth or else I might sew it."
Lexus only nods and innocently smiled at the fuming prince like he did nothing obscene earlier.
Amaranth loses his cool every time this man smiles. Just wait, that stupid smile of yours, I will wipe it for good. "Lastly, it's not like we didn't do 'that' after all I'm the one who took her innocence. You better know your place." Leaving those words, he closed the door with a loud bang.
-Tsk. Her first? We did it many times, not like you, who only did it once with her.
"Go back to your room and rest. Your eyes are swollen." Lexus turns his head. He can't get her eyes off her. Lily wore a turtle-neck dress to cover the hickeys he made. The long brown hair had been braided and coiled around her head in an effort to lessen distraction. Her yellow dress hugged her body tightly, which made the classic S-figure to be outlined. In contrast to the dress, the white ribbons attached to it were fancily folded. It's simple yet beautiful and neat.
No other ornaments are present except for the emerald ring placed on her fourth finger on her left hand. He hates seeing that ring. It made her look like a married woman. And who gave that ring? It's none other than that bastard crown prince. He doesn't understand why Lily still wore that. They are over and since she can't feel anything. What's the use of that magic repeller ring?
Lily, who waited for him to leave noticed him staring at the ring. With an indifferent expression, she spoke. "You can stay here, but it ends here too."
Lexus stands up abruptly and hoped she had at least a little guilt for him. She made him stood at the entrance the whole night, listened to their moans and treated him coldly after helping her. She's so heartless and indifferent to anything and anyone. "Do you want me to come back to that place tonight?"
He had a guess that the owner of that house made something to her which made her do the things she normally doesn't do. Like defending him and not saying harsh words. But now his hunch got only stronger, seeing the ring. When he went inside that house, he sensed a light magic. It's faint, so he guessed his senses just mistaken another energy as light magic, so he brushed the thought of it.
I think I have to find the truth by myself.
