Party - part 4

When her mind started to work again, she tried to push away, but the man didn't even bulge.

"You are so beautiful and delicious!" His husky voice said before he tried to kiss her again, and she squirmed.

"Nooo!" Her voice sounded muffled, but, soon, the man's heavy body was taken away from her and she heard a thud, when he fell to the ground.

"Don't you fucking dare to touch her!"

"Ethan!" Gwen held his arm and he looked at her.

"Are you ok?" He asked, worried, looking at her body, trying to see if she was hurt in any way. Then, he turned to the man on the ground. "Belmonte, if I ever see your face again, you're dead!"

The dark haired man was getting up, his blue eyes flashing pure hate at Ethan.

"She's not yours."

"She is not a property of anyone!" Ethan shouted. "And she is my wife. So, fuck off!"

"She is your… wife?" The man laughed. " Ex-wife, you mean? It's not over, Lennox."

Belmonte walked away and Ethan, once more, turned his attention to Gwen.

"Thank you, Mr. Lennox." She said, looking down. "Excuse me."

Ethan held her arm, stopping her. She looked from his hand to his face and raised an eyebrow.

"That 's it?" he asked.

"What more could it be?" She frowned then and tried to pull her arm, but he didn't let go of her.

"Leave," he said.

"What?"

"Leave!" He repeated, this time, a bit more loudly.

"I am not leaving the party yet…"

"I mean the city, Gwen." he said and they locked eyes. ""I told you I want you out. You owe me now, don't you?"

"No, I don't!" She said and, just then, when her hair was not on her face anymore, he could see a handprint on her face. He raised his fingers to touch her, but she flinched.

"What is happening here?" Johnny asked and he saw Ethan holding Gwen's arm, her face marked and his hand near her face. "What the fuck!"

He took a few steps in Ethan's direction, but Gwen stopped him.

"It was not him!" She said. "It was Darla."

"Darla?" Both men asked.

"Yes." Gwen answered. "Please, I wanna go now. I can't stand some people's presence anymore."

Ethan let go of her arm, reluctantly and she walked way. Johnny lingered for a moment more.

"Don't you touch her, do you understand me?" He said. "You had your chance."

"What, you think I want her?" Ethan asked and sneered. "Make good use of her, I don't care. Just don't try to get back at me through her. You're wasting your time."

Johnny shook his head with a smile on his face.

"You are an idiot, Lennonx. I want her, because of her. And since you see no problem, then, step away."

With that, Johnny turned on his shoes and left the place. Ethan stayed there, looking as they got far and far from him.

'I don't care about her', he told himself. 'She is just my ex and I want her away.'

When he got back to his table, Darla was looking around, searching for him. Jeremy looked bored, but at the sight of Ethan, he smiled.

"Finally!" He said. "I was about to go after you!"

"What happened?" Darla asked, looking at Ethan's hand. Of course it was red, since he punched Belmonte.

"Nothing." Jeremy looked at his with a questionly look and Ethan gave him a stare that meant they would talk about it later. Jeremy nodded and didn't ask anything.

"But it is hurt! Let m-"

"I said it is nothing!" Ethan answered and sighed. "I want to go."

"Already?" Darla asked. "But I thought we could dance a little bit." she pouted. He hated this kind of behavior.

'Gwen never did it!' He thought and shook his head. He had to stop comparing every woman to her!

Ethan raised from his seat.

"I am going. If you prefer to stay, it's up to you. But if you want to go, now is the right moment to rise from this chair, grab your things and follow me."

Darla didn't want to go away because she wanted people to see her with Ethan and think they were a couple in love. Staying behind would be worse than not dancing at all. Especially after he made a scene with Gwen at the dance floor.

"No, no, I'm coming along!" She said, said goodbye to everyone and followed Ethan outside.

Gwen and Johnny were still around, because it took a while for the valet to bring their car back. Now, Johnny had the door open for her and was offering her his hand. He looked at Ethan and Darla.

"They make a cute couple." Darla said and looked at Ethan's face.

He didn't say anything, just looked at Gwen and Johnny's hand touching. Janet was still at the party with Augusto Sevilla.

'Is Lestrange staying at her house?' he asked himself. 'But if he does, it is NOT my business.' Although, that was not how he was feeling. Questions about Gwen's private and sexual life started to pop inside his head. Did she have another man? Was she going to sleep with Jonathan Lestrange? And most importantly: why was he so worried about it, feeling a pang in his heart?

"Ethan!" Darla called him, tugging his arm and he finally focused. Gwen was gone and his car was in front of him.

"Thanks." He said to the valet and entered his car not even bothering to help Darla. But the valet did.

He left her at her house and drove away. He went to a bar. He didn't want to return home at all, for some weird reason. He was not one to drink a lot, but he felt like he had to.

"Sir, don't you prefer a taxi?" The bartender asked.

"No... I mean. Maybe?" Ethan answered, confused.

"Should I call anyone?"

"Yeah. Here." He gave his phone to the man. "My wife."

The man searched for 'wife' and found a number. 'Wifey'.
