So that was mother's problem with Ava. She had been fine when she assumed Ava was a healer at heart. Knowing Ava was a warrior first and a healer second had set her off but why? There was nothing about our people that said women could not fight. 

"There is no reason Ava should have to stay within the Clan limits Mother." 

"And what about when she becomes pregnant!" My Mother snapped out the words.

Ava laughed, "My Mother fought in three separate wars during some of her pregnancies. Being pregnant rarely proves to be a problem."

My mother's eyes grew wide, "You would put your young in danger before they took their first breath?"
