Chapter 155: Plan for Mutants

"Although you two aren't siblings, could you please be more careful in public?"

Jack's words snapped Charles out of his excited and doubtful state. He realized how their current condition with Raven could lead to different thoughts.

Immediately, he hurriedly got up, using his hands and feet together to stand up quickly.

The people around him let out a gasp at his quick movements, Erik was overjoyed, looking Charles up and down before asking with some unease, "Are... are you okay?"

"I... I should be fine, right?" Charles looked at his hands, moving them freely, and then reached towards his back where the wound had been.

To his surprise, the injury had disappeared without a trace.

Raven on the ground was a little sad that Charles died so quickly, but when she saw that he was okay, she let out a sigh of relief.

All of their eyes turned to Jack. Everyone was no fool and understood that Charles's recovery was somehow related to this man who had suddenly appeared.

"What are you doing here?" Charles was calm again, and he looked at Jack with curious eyes.

"Who is he? Is he also a mutant?"

Erik didn't recognize Jack and asked Charles.

"He's a friend, and well... you could say he's a mutant too," Charles casually replied, intending to ask Jack more questions.

However, Jack waved his hand and said, "Let's leave this place first. Now that your matter is settled, it's time for my own business."

"Hold on, I need to deal with these bastards first." Erik's sharp gaze fixed on the waiting ships not far away.

Obviously, he hadn't forgotten their earlier attempt to kill them.

"I'm not dealing with you." Jack rolled his eyes and casually responded.

In the next moment, everyone felt a short blur, only to find themselves shocked to discover that they had been transported from the island to a grassy field.

Not far away stood an ancient mansion with damaged and rustic walls, showing its age.

Near the mansion was a large lake, several miles wide, with startled fish leaping out of the water from time to time. Flocks of birds flew back and forth, searching for food on the lake's surface.

It would be a good idea to take a boat and go fishing when there was nothing else to do.

On the other side of the lake, there was a vast forest, a private and quiet shelter for camping and hunting lovers.

While others were wondering how they ended up there, Charles had a silent expression as he observed his surroundings.

He felt familiar as if he had seen this place before.

When Charles looked up and saw Xavier Mansion faintly visible in the distance, he suddenly had a realization!

This was the mansion near his home! He hadn't visited much and didn't know much about it.

But the original owner of this mansion seemed to be a stubborn old man, and now it appeared that Jack had purchased it.

At that moment, Jack reappeared, accompanied by the White Queen, Emma Frost.

As Emma appeared, the faces of Azazel and Riptide in the crowd changed slightly. They had believed that Emma was dead, but now it seemed she was working with this mysterious person.

"They are now in your hands," Jack said to Emma, then turned to look at Charles and Erik.

"We need to have a serious conversation about the future of mutants!"

After saying this, Jack walked towards the lake while Emma approached the group of mutants, intending to take them to rest.

"???"

Erik was still a bit puzzled, but Charles had already understood. He nodded to Raven, signaling her to lead the group of mutants with Emma.

Charles and Erik followed behind Jack, walking towards the lake.

The three of them arrived at the lakeside, where a rickety-looking wooden boat was tied. Jack took the lead and got on the boat, while Erik and Charles exchanged a glance before cautiously boarding as well.

There was just enough space for the three of them to sit.

Once they were on board, Jack picked up the paddler and gently pushed the boat away from the dock, heading towards the center of the lake.

Charles and Erik remained silent, just watching quietly. They both knew that Jack must have something to say.

Sure enough, when the boat reached the center of the lake, Li Yang spoke up.

"Tell me, how do you imagine the future of mutants?"

Charles pondered while Erik didn't understand what Jack meant.

"What do you mean by that?" Erik asked.

"I mean it literally," Jack shrugged. "You see, in today's world, while there are many mutants, there are even more ordinary humans. I'm curious to know how you two plan to handle the relationship between mutants and ordinary humans."

When Charles and Erik heard this, they both furrowed their brows deeply. Charles seemed to be thinking about what to do.

'Can mutants and ordinary humans coexist peacefully? Surely, it's possible. But the question is, how can it be accomplished?'

Today's events have made Charles realize the problems involved, and Jack's explanation of the future has troubled him.

What should he do?

He hesitated and struggled, but Erik quickly came to a realization.

He looked coldly at Jack and spoke with a low, determined voice, "Mutants should not hide in the shadows. We are the rightful owners of this Earth! We are born to rule!"

Charles turned his head suddenly, somewhat shocked by Erik's thoughts. Their ideas were so similar, reminiscent of Shaw's.

However, he wasn't worried about Erik becoming another Shaw.

He was well aware of the biggest difference between Shaw and Erik, which made them destined to go their separate ways.

"That's an interesting idea," Jack said with a smile that wasn't quite a smile, nodding approvingly at Erik before turning to Charles.

"And what about you, Charles? How do you plan to handle the relationship with humans?"

Suddenly being asked, Charles was momentarily stunned.

His face showed hesitation, and his lips stuttered, "Perhaps... we can try to coexist peacefully with humans. I will build bridges, and we will do better than before."

"What?!" Erik exclaimed as if he had heard the most ridiculous joke. He looked at Charles, feeling both angry and laughing.

"You forgot what happened half an hour ago? Do you want to be blown up again?!"

Charles stood his ground, his voice firm, "Then what else? Do you suggest we follow your path? What's the difference between that and declaring all-out war on humans? Innocent people will be the ones who suffer and die! Besides, our kind is already low in number. We can't afford to lose more!"

"Even with your Cerebro, you can instantly kill all humans! And yet, you're thinking of sacrificing your own kind?!"

"I'm not an executioner, Erik!"

"Then what am I, according to you? I don't mind doing it for the sake of our kind!"

"I didn't say that! I just think... we don't need to be so extreme!"

...

Jack rubbed his head with a headache as he watched them fight. Both of their ideas were good, but they didn't think things through.

Charles's idea was good. He knew what would happen in the future, so he thought that maybe they could try to live peacefully with humans as long as Erik acted like a hawk and scared off those humans who had evil intentions.

As for Charles, he would establish a mutant school, just like before, and take in and educate mutant children.

The difference was that this time, he would join forces with Erik, believing that with their combined influence, they should be able to create a paradise for mutants.

Erik's idea was straightforward—he didn't believe that humans would peacefully coexist with them!

This was the separation between the two, and neither could convince the other.

"Stop, stop, stop!"

Jack waved his hand to interrupt their argument, looking at them and sighing.

With a serious tone, he said, "In my opinion, both of your ideas are good, but the only result of all your plans can only be one: the slow extinction of mutants!"

"What?!"
