Chapter VI: Bird War I and An Accidental Deal With A Demon

It's been two months since my encounter with Set and Agamotto. Thankfully I haven't been bothered by any other Gods yet, but I know it's bound to happen sooner or later.

Right now I was meditating while surrounding myself Hellfire Magic and absorbing the suns rays with my Heliokinesis.

Over these two months I've been doing my usual training. However I get strong relatively fast, so I've been doubling the work load every week. So it's safe to say I can continue on my road to reforming this island, but now I have a different goal.

I don't want the largest house, I want the largest ship, and I'm going to use that boat to get to the mainland.

I know I can run on water and fly now, but I don't need to. There's no creature on this planet that puts me in any immediate danger. So there's no need to rush things.

I stopped meditating when I was ready to finally get ready to go. I walked into my cave and grabbed a large shovel that I have been working on for the last two months.

This shovel was for my Sphinx form which I still haven't used yet. I was more than strong enough to transform, I just didn't need to yet and I was afraid of how I would look. But right now I need to get over that.

I took a deep breath and looked deep inside my mind, looking for something that I've been ignoring for months.

Inside my mind, there was a cage. In that cage, was a large and buff black cat with golden highlight on it. It was like big like the hulk, but definitely less wide.

Imagine the buff doge dog meme, but as an ancient black royal cat and not so broad shoulders.

I looked up at the cat and opened the cage. It nodded at me before turning into a mist of energy that then entered my body.

I left my mind scape and found that I was definitely a few heads taller than before. I felt my physical and mental attributes get stronger, as well as my Hellfire Magic.

"Oh hell yeah. System, open Status."

Over these two months my System only had one update, it still sadly doesn't help me gain any strength.

'So whatever I wear in my Sphinx Form gets enlarged instead of destroyed like when Bruce Banner transforms into the Hulk.'

I walked towards a puddle and crouched down because I was too tall to just look down at it.

I was a tall and lean, muscly black cat with golden eyes and a golden tail. Along with golden streaks all around my fur to complement the rest of my elegant features.

'Oh wow, how beautiful.' It felt a bit odd saying that, but it was the truth. I stood back up and started stretching, preparing to go against the trees, and my number one enemies. Those fucking birds.

I activated my speed and lightning crackled around my body.

At Mach 3 speed, I began to run through every tree on the island. While smashing through all of them I was picking them up and throwing them at other trees.

'Sorry not sorry Mr. Beast.' I thought while feeling tree branches try to pierce my nearly impenetrable body. It was only like that in my Sphinx Form though, in my regular body, I can still be hurt by certain weapons, but definitely not all.

It took me longer than I expected to take down every tree on this island. I thought it would take at least an hour. I'm reality it took around 2 hours and 45 minutes. But it doesn't matter how long it took, because I finally did it.

There is now another problem though. I have to clean up all this wood and put it somewhere. And then I also realize that I don't know how the hell to build a boat.

It might actually take me years to build this boat, even with super speed. "I'm such a fucking idiot, I got too excited. What the fuck am I supposed to do with all this goddamn wood?!" I yelled in anger towards myself. I deactivated my Sphinx Form and took a seat on the grass.

I shit you not. The moment I deactivated it, every bird on this island proceeded to surround me, and I mean every single one. There were thousands of birds on this island. And it didn't look like they wanted to talk.

"Oh shit. This will be fun." I smiled like a madman. Slaughtering all of these birds would definitely cure my anger. 'With my new powers I won't even need to use my super speed.'

A katana made of Hellfire appeared in my hand as I stared down the birds.

"Let's dance!"

I jumped up into the air and threw the katana toward a random direction of the large flock of birds, piercing multiple bird hearts and evaporating their bodies.

I landed on the ground and extended my hand out, bringing the sword back to my hand.

Seeing the ashes of their fallen, they all rushed me at once from the ground and from the air. I cut one's head of and threw it at another bird with enough force to blow a hole in its stomach.

I made a second hellfire sword and continued my onslaught war against the birds. Head after head of birds continued to litter the battlefield as well as their ashes blowing against the ground with every slice of my sword.

The birds realized they couldn't win this battle, but they wouldn't give up that easily.

Only after five minutes their forces were down to less than 500 birds.

They changed tactics and started attacking me from the air. I turned my swords into throwing knives, ready to end this aerial battle as well.

"Unluckily for you guys, I was an amazing darts player on my old world!"

I threw throwing knife after throwing knife at the birds and every time one was hit, the knife would explode, killing other birds as well.

It only took another 5 minutes before I narrowed down the opposing forces to 1. He tried to fly away seeing how fucked he was.

I grabbed him before he could fly away and I ripped his wing off.

*CAACAA-*

I ripped his beak off before he could try to alert any other birds that might hear it. "Sorry buddy, but I can't let you do that. I don't need to fight you guys any longer. I pressed my foot against its head and applied pressure.

"Stay good in the neighborhood for me."

*SQUASH!*

I noticed that I missed a bird and he flew off somewhere else, desperately wanting to live.

I gnarled it though, it's best to let one live, so he can tell the story to any other bird flocks. I want all birds to hate me for the rest of the time I'll be in the universe, and they can't do anything about it.

'Hm, now back to my first problem. What to do with this wood, since I can't waste anymore time on this desolate island. If I do I might go insane.

"I can just burn it."

I activated my speed and Sphinx Form, and ran around the island picking up all of the trees and bringing them to one spot, stacking them all together.

I outreached my hand towards this humungous pile of wood.

"Burn." I whispered and huge fire shot from my hand and engulfed the pile of wood.

Normally it would take hours and multiple relights to burn all of this wood, but fortunately, I didn't have regular fire. It only took 10 minutes for all this wood to be turned to ashes.

'Now I only have two things left to do. Search every cave on this island for magic stones or anything else than can provide powers, and to pay my respects to Little Dino before I go.

I activated my speed and searched all the little caves first. Like I expected, there was nothing in any of them. After that disappointing revelation, I went to the largest cave on the island which was located inside the mountain I used to discover that I was on an island in the first place.

'I didn't even know there was a cave in this mountain.' I thought as I entered the dark cave. I no longer needed hellfire to light up dark places, since now I have night vision thanks to becoming The Sphinx.

I continued into the cave when I saw a staircase leading down. 'This could be a good thing or a bad thing, but I think I have enough strength to protect myself if it's bad.

I walked down the stairs and saw a chair turned away from me with an old man with a cane sitting in the chair. 'What the..'

"Uhm, sir? What are you doing down here?" I asked, with one hand behind my back covered in a thin layer of hellfire, in case I need to start an attack.

He got out of the chair quickly and looked back in shock. But then his shock quickly formed into a smile on his face. As if an amazing opportunity just arrived in front of him.

"No son, the real question is, what are you doing here?"

"Oh, I uhm, got lost on the way of life." I said with a vigilant and weary smile.

"Hm, well, I was just on my way back to where I came from. It was nice meeting you kid." He walked up to me with a smile and extended his hand. 'My instincts are telling me to not shake this bastard's hand, but I can feel how much power he has.'

I shook his hand and instantly felt like he put up some form of connection between the two of us. "Later kid." He disappeared is a gust of fire.

I ran out of the mountain and to Little Dinos grave. 'Who the fuck was that.'

I rubbed his gravestone and thought of what to say to this little unit.

"Little Dino, I honestly didn't know you, but I wish I could've gotten the chance to. The way you went out was very sad, but I will live on in your name. Goodbye little guy." I looked ahead towards the mainland with determination.

"Here we go!" I ran out into the ocean towards the huge piece of land that for sure would start a new chapter for me, and a new chapter for the future!
