"Who activated it?!" Back in the SHIELD base, Nick Fury was enraged. He immediately ordered the base to be sealed after he saw Fanny being teleported before gathering all the relevant personnel to be interrogated.

All the staff trembled, and none of them dared to make a sound.

"Director, if I may," Erik Selvig, the person assigned to the artifact, finally spoke, "The data suggested that the Cube activated on its own."

"Tell me, why didn't it activate sooner or later? Why did it activate on its own right when the Silver Knight approached it?" Nick Fury glowered at Erik Selvig, clearly not satisfied with the answer.

"I don't know," Erik Selvig hesitated for a moment before replying honestly, "Could he be the one that activated it?"

Nick Fury had obviously considered that scenario, but he couldn't conceive any reason why Fanny would do that. Fanny's actions and attitude also showed that the mage didn't expect the development to occur.

Nick Fury was more inclined to suspect that some people from Asgard had tampered with the Cube.

Hill approached Nick Fury and whispered in his ear, "I've checked the people that came into contact with the Cube for the past three days. There's no obvious problem."

Nick's frown deepened.

"Have you found the location of the Silver Knight?" Nick Fury turned back to Erik Selvig. The reason for the Tesseract's sudden rogue action was important, but so was finding out where Fanny had gone.

"This..." Erik Selvig was a little hesitant, as if he wasn't sure of what he saw. "According to the data, he probably isn't on Earth anymore."

"Fuck!" Nick Fury spat a curse. He hadn't expected such an incident would occur and began to doubt whether he should let the Tesseract research project continue.

"I don't care how; find a way to get him back here!" Nick Fury barked at Erik Selvig and then turned at Hill, "Check all the staff in the base again. I want to be certain that there's no problem."

"Sir, yes, sir!" Hill replied with a serious face. She had wanted to get along with Fanny, but who would expect that he would disappear the first day that they met?

After Hill, it was Barton's turn to receive the command to go through the base for any abnormalities from Nick Fury.

Fanny and Red Skull sat on the altar on Vormir, chatting idly.

"Do you still remember Captain America from way back then?"

Fanny had removed the 'Demon Armor Incursio.' The climate and environment of Vormir were surprisingly suitable for Earth humans.

"Steve Rogers?" Reminiscence flashed in Red Skull's eyes. "Is he still alive? He should be more than ninety years old now!"

"He's faring much better than you." Fanny looked at Red Skull. "After the battle with you, he fell into the glacier along with the plane he was on. He was frozen for seventy years—it was only recently that he was recovered!"

"He was sealed in ice?" Red Skull was slightly stunned, but then he shook his head dismissively and said, "What's the point of saying this now? I'm just a ghost."

"Your Hydra had thrived quite well, too." Fanny casually summoned a steaming hot fried chicken and offered it to Red Skull, "Do you want some?"

"No—I cannot eat," Red Skull shook his head and refused: he didn't even have a body anymore. He had seen a lot of aliens during the decades, but it was the first time he had seen a magical existence like Fanny. He recalled what Fanny had said and asked, "Did you say Hydra? They still exist?"

"Indeed," Fanny replied while biting the delicious fried chicken roll, "They are the world's largest secret service organization. You should be proud."

Pride did blossom in Red Skull's heart. He couldn't help but shout the old slogan, "Hail Hydra!"

"Don't celebrate just yet. Hydra was barely kept alive in secrecy. After Captain America wakes up, he would root you all from the surface of the planet. It's just a matter of time."

Fanny poured cold water on Red Skull's excitement, freezing the guardian's macabre smile.

Seventy years had passed. Red Skull should have let go of his obsession with Captain America, but what Fanny said had roused an inexplicable rage in his heart.

He had become a broken, castaway guardian because of that Steve, but the one that made him suffer could just sleep well for seventy years and enjoy happy life after waking up.

Steve Rogers had subjugated Hydra way back then, and now when the organization had thrived again, he wanted to do it all over again?!

"This can't be allowed!!!" Red Skull suddenly shouted, surprising Fanny.

"Fanny Helsed!" Red Skull suddenly stood up solemnly. He looked at Fanny and said, "I, Johann Schmidt, the leader of Hydra, humbly beseech your favor!"

"Eh?!" Fanny was so stunned he stopped eating his fried chicken. He didn't understand what Red Skull was trying to do.

"I hope that you can save Hydra by leading it from now on. When the organization dominates the world and expand through the universe, you shall be its overlord!"

"What?" Fanny fell to his butt, incredulous at Red Skull's crazy proposition. "Is there something wrong with your brain? I must've forgotten to tell you, but I'm also an enemy of Hydra!"

Red Skull didn't actually care about Hydra's enemies. He wanted to rule the world, so it was a given that everyone else would be his enemy. He also didn't think that Fanny would lie to him. His current existence was just a ghost under Soul Stone's control. He wasn't worth lying to.

"Well, if they're your enemies, just crush them!"

Red Skull had lost all his attachment to that organization after all these years. It would be hard to imagine that Hydra would recognize him as their leader anymore. When he told Fanny to become a Hydra leader, he didn't actually have any authority to give the young mage.

He would have to persuade Fanny to join his version of the organization.

Fanny was utterly confused with Red Skull's trust and expectations. How did this guy get mixed and tangled until he became a Hydra leader?!
