The Scy'ar Tal.

" Alright, still no sign they've detected us."

Lorna said to the group as she used her powers to mask the Starjammers ship as they approached feather's edge.

" Good work, Polaris."

Atom said to the woman.

" Just... Hurry please."

Lorna begged as she struggled to keep the shield up.

" Ch'od are we ready?"

Atom asked.

" As ready as we can be. You ready to sing us into battle?"

Ch'od asked the man.

Atom turned and smirked at his friend.

" No. but if we win this battle I'll sing whenever you ask."

Atom joked to his friend.

" Let's do this."

Atom ordered.

The Resistance fighters became visible and started attacking the Killstation. However, things did not go as planned as the Shi'ar fleet mobilized on the m the second they appeared.

" Ch'od Report!!!"

Atom yelled to the man.

" Shi'ar signatures incoming! A lot of them!"

Ch'od exclaimed in a panic.

" Rachel!?"

Atom turned and called out to the woman.

Rachel's eyes Glew blue as she searched the enemy forces.

" It's him."

Rachel exclaimed as she felt Vulcan's presence on the battlefield.

" I see. Rachel set up a link between everyone. I'm going out. If Vulcan wants to make this the final battle so, be it. I'll take him on head strong."

Atom declared.

" No, you can't go out there yet. We need you here to coordinate our troops."

Rachel explained to the man.

Atom grit his teethe and nodded.

" Alright, evasive maneuvers!"

Atom declared as one of Vulcan's fighter's approached the main ship.

" I assumed."

Ch'od replied as he began steering the ship in an attempt to dodge the oncoming fire.

" I can't believe Vulcan brought the entire Shi'ar fleet... He knew we were coming."

Raze exclaimed in shock.

" Yeah, that sounds like my brother."

Alex exclaimed to the group.

The Starjammers continued evading Vulcan's forces as the battle raged on. However just as things seemed grim for the resistance an entire armada of troops showed up and started attacking Shi'ar ships. Destroying Vulcan's lead ship in the process forcing Vulcan and gladiator into space as everyone else on the ship was killed in the blast.

" What the hell?"

Atom asked as he looked at the new force attacking.

" Oh, dear God... What... What was that?"

Lorna asked groggily as she got to her feet.

" Hm, they appear to be calling themselves the Scy'ar Tal. Bold choice."

Ch'od exclaimed.

" You aren't lying Ch'od. I don't like this."

Atom exclaimed.

" Scy'ar Tal. But that means..."

Korvus was saying before Rachel cut him off.

" Death to the Shi'ar."

Rachel stated.

" The name of their race is death to the Shi'ar. This can't be good."

Atom stated bluntly.

The man then looked on in shock as the ships turned to fire at them as well.

" Damn it Ch'od evasive maneuvers!"

Atom yelled as the troops opened fire on the Starjammers.

" Damn it. we have to get to that ship that fired on Vulcan and see if we can communicate with them. Korvus contact Ka'ardum and Lilandra and tell them to withdraw the resistance forces. Rachel! Try to reach the Scy'ar Tal telepathically. See if you can figure out what they want."

Atom barked out orders to his fellow Jammers as he prepared for combat.

" Well, according to their name..."

Ch'od was preparing for a smart remark.

" Just drive Ch'od!"

Atom yelled to the man.

Suddenly Lorna shot up in a panic.

" Oh, damnit Nathan! Alex! I can feel him, his energy. he's still alive."

Lorna exclaimed in a panic.

" Who?"

Alex asked.

" Vulcan!"

Lorna yelled out and sure enough out in front of the ship two bright lights could be seen approaching the battlefield.

Having survived the explosion that knocked them away from the battle, Vulcan and Gladiator returned to the fight with a vengeance. They both began tearing through the Scy'ar Tals ships with ease before landing on the lead ship.

" You are the Shi'ar pretender. Because you are not Shi'ar i give you this gift. Runaway pretender. And live."

The eldest said to Vulcan in an attempt to spare his life.

Vulcan took offense to this remark and marched towards the eldest.

" You destroy my command ship. You kill my men, and you expect me to walk away? i am no pretender, Alien. My name is Vulcan, and I am the emperor of the Shi'ar."

Vulcan declared to the man bold and proud.

"You stand with the Shi'ar then?"

The eldest asked the man

Vulcan raised his hands and blasted the Alien with his energy.

" Here's my answer."

Vulcan declared. But as Vulcan continued firing his energy he noticed that the blast seemed to do next to nothing against the eldest. Vulcan watched in shock as the eldest marched through his blast with ease.

" No... that's not possible... That's not poss... HRGGHHH!"

Vulcan struggled to believe his attack was rendered useless and began pouring more energy into it.

The eldest raised his hand and fired a blast of energy back at Vulcan overpowering and knocking him away.

" Gladiator! What are you waiting for? Kill him already!!"

Vulcan ordered angrily as he was thrown away from the eldest.

" As you wish Emperor!"

Gladiator declared as he charged the eldest and threw a punch at him. However, Gladiators mighty fist was caught with ease.

The elder sneered at the man and snapped his hand causing Gladiator to yell out in pain.

" You are also not Shi'ar."

The eldest declared as he threw gladiator away with ease.

The eldest then walked over to Vulcan and picked him up by the throat.

" You will die now, pretender. For nothing. Your allegiance to the Shi'ar seals your fate. The Scy'ar Tal will take back what is ours. And we will have vengeance."

The eldest declared.

" You will DIE!!!"

Vulcan exploded with rage as he fired his energy beams from his eyes straight into the eldest's eyes.

The eldest fell in pain as his eyes burned.

Vulcan took this chance and fled from the battle.

" Where is he?"

The eldest asked.

" He ran, Eldest. The coward ran."

One of the grunts declared.

" No brother this one is no coward. And he is not weak. This one is dangerous."

The eldest exclaimed as he watched Vulcan retreat.

" But if matters not. All that matters is the end of the Shi'ar. The end of all things."

The eldest declared.

" Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

Atom said as he and Rachel appeared in front of the eldest in their astral forms.

" Who speaks?"

The eldest asked.

" I see you in my mind?"

The eldest asked as he looked upon Rachel and Atom's telepathic forms.

" My name is captain Atom, and this is Marvel girl. We're the Starjammers. And we would ask that you pause and speak with us. We represent the resistance to the Shi'ar empire."

Atom explained to the man.

" More not Shi'ar. You are like him. The pretend Emperor. Will you choose death as well? Will the finality take you, too?"

The eldest asked.

" Whatever problem you have with the Shi'ar, we can come to a peaceful solution. There's no need for this. The shi'ar's true leader is Lilandra Nermani. She's ready to take back control of the empire from the man you faced, Vulcan."

Atom explained to the man in the hope to solve things with this new force peacefully.

" I feel you speak truth. But you hide something i can feel it."

The eldest stated.

" Vulcan's father raised me. In a way were are like brothers. Adopted though."

Atom explained.

" What? Your brother? You lie! This...This makes no sense. You would see your brother fail? You would fight against your own blood?"

The eldest asked in disbelief.

" Vulcan is no brother of mine. Not as long as I have a say in things."

Atom shot back.

" You can choose your friends but you cannot choose your family. Hm... You are within my mind. Your power we know it. See truth Phoenix."

The eldest exclaimed.

He reached towards Rachel's astral form and stuck his finger into her mind and flooded her mind with memories of what happened to the Scy'ar Tal.

" AHHH!!!"

Rachel screamed in terror as her body spasmed. Atom's doing the same as he too saw the visions.

" I knew I didn't like this. Are you okay Rachel?"

Atom asked the woman as he crouched down next to her. holding her hand tightly in his.

" The Shi'ar caused this."

Rachel said

" Rachel, you need to rest."

Atom said the woman as he gently caressed her hand.

" I saw it in his mind...They don't have names; they call him the eldest. The Shi'ar nearly wiped out their entire civilization, drove them from their homes. They're coming to take it back."

Rachel said sadly.

" This be not new... This is what the shi'ar do."

Raze exclaimed as he and ch'od observed the battlefield.

" Well, maybe we can help. We can talk to Lilandra."

Lorna explained in hope to end things peacefully.

" Lorna's right. This is no problem. The Scy'ar Tal help us kill Vulcan. Lilandra gives them back their lands. Win-Win."

Alex explained to the group.

" Oh, Alex if only it was that simple."

Atom groaned.

" What do you mean?"

Alex asked in confusion

Rachel stepped forward and explained to Alex what Atom meant.

" Scy'ar tal isn't their original name. They've spent the last thousand years changing their culture, changing themselves to fight the Shi'ar. Their races real names are the M'kraan. The planet they want, the thing they worshipped...They've come to take back the M'kraan crystal."

Rachel explained.

The realization hit Alex like a bus.

" The Scy'ar tal command ship has fired a... Strange. It has the look of a Missile, but it isn't registering a weapon. It's transmitting a homing beacon.

Raze spoke

" Will finality take you too? Oh god. Shoot it down! SHOOT IT DOWN NOW!"

Rachel yelled.

" Nathan, you have to stop it!"

Rachel yelled in terror!

Nathan without hesitation leapt from the ship and raced towards the object.

Nathan fired on the probe multiple times in an attempt to stop it but as he did the probe expanded into a large ring and a star appeared right in front of Nathan's face.

Rachel looked on in terror as the Star consumed the man's body and the planet below.

" NATHAN!!!"

Rachel yelled in terror. Her heart fell into her stomach as she watched the man she had fallen in love with die in the firey explosion.

Rachel collapsed to the ground in tears as her hand pushed against the ships glass.

The Starjammers looked Ch'od and Raze cried tears of blood as they lost their best friend and leader once again.

Or so they all thought. As the smoke cleared from Nathan's body was soon seen floating in space.

' Nathan?'

Rachel called out to the man telepathically.

' I'm Still here pretty Bird. But I'm not going to lie. That hurt me pretty bad.'

Nathan groaned as he got it recovered himself.

The crew let out a sigh of relief as the man started making his way back to the ship. A bloody mess, but alive nevertheless.

Nathan landed on the ship and walked into the main command room in anger. Rachel ran up and hugged the man in relief.

Nathan broke the hug and kissed Rachel gently on the lips.

" Sorry pretty bird. I didn't mean to scare you like that."

Nathan said to the woman.

" You fool. I thought I lost you too."

Rachel cried into the man's arms.

" Never."

Nathan declared as he held the woman tightly.

Nathan held Rachel in his arms and turned to Ch'od.

" Ch'od be straight with me. How many people just died?"

Nathan asked the man.

Ch'od looked up at him with a deep scowl on his face.

" The population of feather's edge was 2.4 billion."

Ch'od exclaimed in anger.

" All dead. Is it true Lilandra? Did the Shi'ar do what the eldest said?" Is the M'krann crystal planet their home?"

Alex asked the woman in disbelief.

" No! That planet is the birthplace of the Shi'ar! Sharra and K'ythri released us into the universe, then hid the aerie in darkness. D'Ken found it, using the scriptures and the rumors of a lost shi'ar scouting expedition... The planet is our rightful home, and the crystal is a responsibility given to us by the gods!"

Lilandra exclaimed in anger over the accusation.

" Then why do you fear it? Why do you call it the M'Krann Crystal? You took it from them Lilandra."

Rachel exclaimed.

" That is a lie!"

Lilandra exclaimed in anger.

" The Crystal is the end of all that is. It is a nexus of all realities. But can destroy ours in a blink of an eye. Even after what we just witnessed... Perhaps the Scy'ar Tal are the lesser of two evils. Could it be any worse than the crystal being in Vulcan's hands?"

Raze asked.

" Yes, it can. Even Vulcan realizes the folly of being a king with no one to rule over. The Scy' ar Tal only care about revenge and it is clear they will kill any that get in their way to do so. Even innocent civilians. At least with Vulcan we know he won't kill indiscriminately."

Atom explained.

And as if on cue Vulcan alongside Deathbird and the imperial guard appeared on the Starjammers ship.

" I thank you for the vote of confidence. Now, how's about we call a time out?"

Vulcan asked.

The Starjammers turned and glared at the man in anger.
