All six of us sat in a circle on the floor of the hotel room. Now that we were free from HYDRA's grasp, we had to decide how to move on now. Everyone intended to go on about their own lives, but there were many issues in that.
Wanda, Pietro, and I will of course travel alongside each other for a long time, but I've built a special connection with Laura. But if she didn't want to come with us, I wouldn't be able to really stop her. Pietro had also built a connection with Hisako during our time together.
For all of us to split up could cause issues within our bonds in the long run. What I've assessed from the information I know from the movies, the Avengers will team up next year to defend against the Chitauri invasion .
If all of us were separated during this event and still in New York, it would be significantly harder for all of us to ensure our own survival. Of course, I couldn't discuss how or why I knew this information, so I had to come up with something that was still truthful and logical.
"I think it would be best if we stayed together for one more year." Everyone was intrigued by my approach, waiting to hear my reasoning on that opinion.
"We just escaped from a HYDRA base. Now we all know that they are a very dangerous and relentless organization. They could still very well be hunting us, so if we stay together for one more year, and send a good enough message, they should know to keep away from us. Forever." They thought about my proposition and all agreed that it was the most viable option.
"Since we all decided to stay together, that means that we need an actual place to stay. Somewhere discreet, but able to live in."
Perhaps I steal a page out of Oliver Queen's book and start a night club with a secret base under it. The only difference being that we'd all sleep down there too.
'None of us have the necessary knowledge to build all of that shit. None of us are engineers or computer scientists. We have no Felicity Smoak.' I thought sadly.
That was out of the window as of now. The only way I see it is that we start hysterically robbing criminals for their money before straight up purchasing a building the sleep in. Then we'd have to continue robbing to uphold enough money for all of the utilities and furnitures.
If we'd start doing that though, we'd probably under go heavy surveillance under the eyes… eye of Nick Fury. He'd probably try and put us in the Avengers Initiative. Wait.
'How do I know he hasn't already? Nick Fury's got eyes everywhere. Six experiments under Baron Strucker escape and decimate his HYDRA base? That surely had to alert him. And now six people check into a hotel for a single hotel room? I could be nitpicking at nothing, but if Nick Fury is the calculated and cautious man I think he is, then he could already know.'
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
I looked towards the door and didn't know what to do. If that was S.H.I.EL.D themselves, then this whole calm atmosphere we currently had could completely go south.
"Room service!" I sighed in relief. It was the old lady from yesterday who was in charge of room service. I opened the door and told her we were fine and didn't need anything.
"Thank you Esmeralda, but we're alright." She peeked inside and saw them sitting in a circle on the floor. She glanced back at me weirdly before shaking her head and walking off with her cart.
"I'm getting too old for this shit." Esmeralda muttered, making me smile. I locked the door behind me and sat back down. I took Nick Fury off my mind and focused on right now.
"Alright come on, we need ideas. We need a place to stay and hotel hopping isn't very reliable when trying to be discreet." We all started to brainstorm, when Wanda had came up with an idea that solves a few of our issues.
"Well, when we do eventually find somewhere, we don't essentially have to pay for one utility. We don't have to pay for heat and we wouldn't have had to pay for AC, but that's connected to electricity, which we do need. I mean, we literally have a walking heater and air conditioner." Her plan was good, but she must've forgotten something.
"Who needs to pay for electricity when we have a walking electrical box?" I said, pointing my head towards Chris. Then they all realized that we had already covered most of the utilities with only two people.
"If I continue to help Wanda control her reality warping powers, she'd be able to use her imagination to fix any mechanical or electrical problems we have even without too much knowledge." I offered more planning.
"While me and Chris power the home, Wanda learns a little mechanical knowledge and fix our problems." Pietro raised his hand, but I already knew his question.
"Pietro. You and Hisako are our delivery people, and while it may not sound very flattering, you two make the perfect combo for fast and effective robberies. Lightbulbs, utility parts, and even money could be collected by you in lightning speed. And while you're running at high speeds, Hisako could be on your back and give you the best defense the world can offer.
So even if you do get shot at or attacked for committing what it is you've been sent to do, nothing it piercing the armor." Initially, Pietro didn't like the proposition, but more towards the end, him and Hisako understood their vital roles in resupplying the house when everyone else was busy.
"Now when this is all going on, we continue to practice our powers to keep them powerful. We always want our enemies on our toes. Now, we only have one problem left. We need to obtain a place of living."
